first you will have to unzip the package with winzipp or winrar. Three files will appear after you've unipped it: a readme, a picture of the mods units and a file ending on .e3mod (for EM3) or .e4mod (for EM4). When you double click the file ending on .e3mod (or .e4mod) the modinstaller will start and it will install the mod automaticly in the right folder. Then strat EM3/EM4 click on modifications, click the LA mod and click load. greetz, Thijs

Did you make sure you deleted all componets of the illegal game (manually make sure of that, don't trust the uninstall option)? Have you tried running the game without the patches? Else upload your logfile next time it happens, maybe I can see what's wrong from there. greetz, THijs

I can't e-mail the modinstaller: it has an extension that cannot be send as attachment. There really is only one solution for this problem. But I can't give any guaranties that it will work and you have to follow every instruction to the letter or else it could seroiusly harm your computer. So don't try it unless you know what you are doing. In any case emergency-planet.com and I will not accept any responsibillity if something happens to your computer by trying this solution. This is more of an advanced solution, if you’re not sure how it works ask for help, don’t start trying yourself: it could seriously damage your windows installation!!! 1) Start regedit by selecting Start - Run, typing in 'regedit' and then hitting 'OK'. 2) Select 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' and press the '+' button to its left to expand the list. 3) Next, select 'SOFTWARE' and press the '+' button to its left to expand the list. 4) Right-click on 'SOFTWARE' and select New > Key. Enter the new key name: sixteen tons entertainment 5) Right-click on 'sixteen tons entertainment' and select New > Key. Enter the new key name: Emergency 3 US 6) Right-click on 'Emergency 3 US' and select New > String value. Enter the new key name: Installdir 7) Right-click on the 'Installdir' string value and select Modify. In the 'Value Data' field, enter the full path of your installation directory. By default, this value is C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Emergency 3 Now, exit the registry editor by selecting the File menu and then clicking on Exit. The Emergency 3 Mod Installer should now function correctly.

What version of the game do you have (US/UK/Fr/Ge)? If you have the US version the game is in English and the modinstaller is included in the game (you do not need to download it seperatly). If you have the US version you do not need to install patch 3. It is inlcuded in the game. So uninstall the game and try again. greetz, Thijs

Because you can't drive cars over a railroad track. The engineer can however walk across the track to change the signal box on the other side. greetz, Thijs

You need to post your DXdiag file (start --> run --> type 'DXdiag' and push enter) so we can see ram, graphic drivers etc.

What version do you have? Is it a donwload or a hard copy, if it is a download from what site is it? have you tried looking under start --> programs --> Emergency 3? greetz, Thijs

We had a huge storm that raged over the Netherlands yesterday and the day before. There was only minimal damage done, but there are a lot off trees that didn't survive the storm and tomorrow we are gonna practice sawing trees in the forrest in stead of at the station (and practicing at the station really isn't that much of a big deal, see this movie.

You don't have the k-9 unit in mission 6. You just need to make sure your ladder truck has sufficient space to park. Make sure no other vehicules or persons are in the vicinity. greetz, Thijs

Yesterday I was able to click the mod button, think I figured it out: you can only load modifications at the start of the game, if you have been playing for a while (missions or freeplay) you can't load any modifications because the game would have to adapt all vehicles and maps etc.

I did, I used the modinstaller to install the mods, but I still can't click on the modifications button

go to the specs folder if the LA mod you can find it in Emergency 4\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v1.5\Specs In the specs folder is a file called freeplayparameters.xml, that's the file you need to edit. greetz, Thijs

then you first need to open the 911 first responders folder after that you open the data folder and then you open the specs folder. There you'll find the file greetz, Thijs

I just bought the English version of Emergency 4 and downloaded the LA MOD, NL MOD and winterberg mod from the download center. I unzipped the, and installed them in the folder EM4/mods but when I start the game I can't load any modifications (I can't press the button to enter the modifications menu). Anybody know what's wrong?

C:\...\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4\Data\Specs You can find the file freeplayparameters.xml there. Open it with notepad. When you will scroll down a bit you will find the text <events>, every event is mentioned below that line off text. In the text for every event you see this line <AverageFrequency value = "1.0" />, change the number into 0.0, save the file and you won't have incidents in freeplay. Before changing anything make a backup copy!!! You need the backup copy because you can't play multiplayer with changed files, so after you're done place the backup in the folder and delete the changed file. greetz, Thijs
