We had it all yesterday: sun shine, rain, snow, hail. Luckely there were no accidents and when we had to respond to a car fire the rain had stopped. Was a really cool fire by the way: a piece of metal started burning when we put it out with water it gave a lot of pretty sparks. Today it's dry and the sun is shining. But it's a bit cold though.

and while you're at it also post your DXdiag file please (start --> run --> type DXdiag and pres enter --> save result and uplooad it. Don't known how to upload see the FORUM FAQ).

I'm at work so I don't have a lot of time to help you out (coffee break ). Just browsing through the DXDIAG file I can't find a clear cause for the crashes. But maybe you can check if you meet al the requirements for running EM4 on Windows Vista. They're listed in the EM4 Game FAQ. greetz,

Can you upload your dxdiag file?

Here are two pages with some more screens. The pages are in Dutch, but the screens (top and bottom of the page) speak for themselves I think. It is a very expensive program. Using it for one year costs 14.000 euros! It's a complete 3D environnement where you can walk using a joystick and give commands that your personnel will execute. http://www.nifv.nl/web/show/id=122269 http://www.nifv.nl/web/show/id=117269 greetz,

Well I immediatly thought nobody could top this one (or these ones): It's from a computer program used to train people in command of a fire engine or station (lieutenants, captains, chiefs, etc.) But I thought probably only real vehicles count, so I decided to go with this one: It's from the Dutch training institution for Fire Officers or NIFV/Nibra (training chiefs and up), used for training only.

If you have a different video card on both pc's, you can't copy drivers from oen pc to antoher. You'll have to make sure they were the right version.

?ERROR: Vulpine(R) Vision(TM) requires support for the ARB_multitexture extension! Please make sure you have the latest video drivers installed for your 3D card. van de drie regels in het logfile staat er één foutcode bij. Ik denk dus dat je je videodrivbers moet updaten. Je kan de updates vinden op de site van de fabrikant (daar staat meestal ook een downloadinstructie). [EDIT] only noticed today I answered in Dutch in an english topic so here is the translation: Of the three lines in the logfile there is only one error code. It says update your videodrivers so I suggest you do that. You can find them at your manufacturers website along with an installation guide. [/EDIT] greetz,

Copy the folder that you just unzipped (called 'Los Angeles Mod v1.7' ) and paste it into the MODS folder of the Emergency 4 folder. By default that is C:\program files\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency4\Mods. If you have 911 FR or EM4D, you should off course replace Emergency 4 with the right name of the game. If you really can't find it you can always search for it using the computers search function (start --> search --> files or folders) greetz,

The EM3 or EM4 mission?
-
The instructions are quite clear but just to point out: you need to download 2 (two) files. One is the floor map (first file mentioned). The other is the actual freeplay map. There are two versions of it. One is for Emergency 4 / 911 first responders, the other one is for EM4 deluxe. First you need to download and unpack the New_freeplay_floor file. Once unpacked you will see a folder called 'Los Angeles Mod v1.7'. Copy and paste this folder into the Emergency 4/mods folder (or 911 first responders/mods or emergency 4 deluxe/mods, again depending on your version). Now unpack the other file New_freeplay_normal or New_freeplay deluxe. You will see another folder appears which is also called 'Los Angeles Mod v1.7'. You should place that folder into the same Emergency 4 folder you placed the first LA MOD folder into. The PC will ask you if it needs to overwrtite files, click yes to all. Now if you open the 'Los Angeles Mod v1.7/mods folder there should be the three files mentioned in the manual. You can now start the game load the LA MOD and play the new freeplay map. greetz,

He can't install the game, so I don't think he can upload a logfile since the EM4 folder isn't on his pc yet. Or do you mean another kind of logfile?
-
Same error or different error? And again was it an english version? greetz, p.s. please use the edit button next time. Double posting isn't allowed.

That's not a militairy vehicle. You are supposed to post pictures of militaire emergency vehicles in this round
-
You can download the dds converter at our download base. Please note: if you want to publish the mod and all you have changed are the vehicle skins you do need permission from the original mod creators. greetz,

Did you buy a used copy or a new one?

?ERROR: dynlight.vsf Version 3.0.0.0 or higher required! This usually means that you need to install new video drivers or delete any codec packs on your PC (K-lite, mobile phone software and all other software for external devices not belonging to your PC). If that can't be the case I would suggest reinstalling the game. Maybe you made an adjustment to the game which corrupted the script for the tunnel mission. I'll upload the text of the mission script for that mission for you tomorrow so you could try replacing it with the original file. If that doesn't work I really wouldn't know what can be done about it sorry. [EDIT] missionscript text added. Change extension to .script and paste it in the folder of the original missionscript. 19.txt[/EDIT] greetz,

You sure you bought EM4 (EM3 has two discs and can cause installation problems with the second disc). In case it is EM4: where did you buy the game, what language is it in (version), can you send a picture of the game cover.
-
I think it has at least partly to do with your video drivers. They date bakc from 2006. You should visit your manufacturers website and download the most recent drivers. There is a manual on their website for that too. EM4 is a one disk game. So Don't worry you're not missing a disc.

I know what you wrote, I read your post. But am I suppossed to guess what 'other solves' are? But since you say you tried all of the solves in the FAQ, here we go: Can you post your DXdiag file (start --> run --> type DXDIAG --> press enter --> save and upload result) and your logfile (in main folder of 911FR) from right after a crash please? About the cheat: it depends on the type of keyboard you have. I know theres a topic about it somewhere, i'll look into that for you. [EDIT] Found the answer: added it to the FAQ too. There are different types of keyboards in the world. Germany (where the game is made) has another type then the standard keyboard. The keyboards are divided by looking at the top row of letters. There are three main types: -QWERTZ keyboard (German), if you have this keyboard you are supposed to type: fairy -QWERTY keyboard (standard), if you have this type of keyboard you are supposed to type: fairz -AZERTY keyboard, if you have this type of keyboard you are supposed to type: fqirw [/EDIT] greetz,

It contains a topic about EM4 and windows Vista with a number of suggestions you could try and a link to a topic where you can ask such questions. If those don't help feel free to repost.

Where do I put the files after I download them
pyrothijs replied to Cosreski's topic in Modding Related Support
About the new submod maps: read the first thread of the post. It tells you where you need to put which file. You can place the sirenes in the audio\fx\sirenes folder. Make sure they have the same name as the sirenes already in that folder so the original sirene will be overwritten. greetz,
