If you insert the CD a menu will appear with an instal option. Do not choose that install option, but close the menu. Now go to my computer and right click the CD-drive. if it doesn't crash (keep your fingers crossed) choose the option open (do not choose the option play disc, or run or something!). Now select the program setup.exe and start it. Hopefully the PC will be able to find the disc now. greetz,

Based on the police logo I'd say South Africa, although you wouldn't expect english striping on an african motorcycle.

You must have some crazy people in your district LOL We have a few here too, it was new years eve when we got a call of an appartment fire. A fire had broken out and one of the residents (a woman) was missing, she called her dad in panic and he called 112 (the European version of 911). While we were on route to the incident the operator contact us again stating that the neighbours called she was screaming she set her own house on fire because she was tired of the world or something. Just before entering the street, the operator contact us again: the woman was registerd in the police archives as a complete lunatic that attacks people with knives. We got really nervous then but decided to go in anyway. We entered the building and saw the fires were allready out (she had set fire to the curtains, but nothing flammble was near them). Then the exciting part started: we had to search the appartment for the missing woman. My partner opened the door and I held something ready to knock her with in case she had a knife. We had to open four doors, especially the last one was very exciting, but the woman was nowhere to be found. When we did a sweep of the surrounding buildings we found her on a neighbouring balcony. It took 4 police officers to arrest her and take her down. She was arrested for arson and the police tried to find her psychiatric help. We packed up our engine and headed back to the station. As we arrived at the station our ladder truck was just heading of to another call of a big fire in a neighbouring city. We cleaned up the vehicle and went to bed. But man, what a call!

In the category do's and dont's, asking for release dates is a big don't on this forum. The map will be done when it's done. It is impossible to give an approximate release date because of all the errors (if there are any) that you encouter while testing and that need to be fixed. Just be patient and watch this topic closely, the releasem will be announced here. greetz,

Watch this picture. On the bottom of the screen in the middle you can see all kinds of buttons (an arrow, HQ, siren symbol, etc.). The stand by command can be found in the same place. It's a grey symbol. It's not visible in this screenshot because multiple untis are selected, but now you know where to look. If you hold you're mouse on the symbols it tells you what they are for. greetz,

I assume you have tried to start the installation manually (via this computer or the windows explorer)? I don't know if it could be a form of copyright protection, like when the game is installed once you can't install it elsewhere. Usually copyright programs juyst say that you bought an illegal cd and therefore you can't install it. So this would be a really weird form.

Could you upload your logfile please. Check the EM4 GAME FAQ for the location and the FORUM FAQ for the upload function if you don't know how to use it. Could you also post a screenshot of a vehicle you can't issue orders to? greetz,

Well I'm not in to PC specifics but it could be you bought a laptop that has a video card that is insufficient to play games with. Can you play other (large) games on your laptop like SWAT 4 or Call of Duty or something? But somebody who knows about graphic cards etc. is probably better in assesing if the card is fit to play games with. If you want to know for sure you canalways go back to the store and ask. greetz,

Yes there is. 911FR is exactly the same as Emergency 4 only it's in English. In freeplay mode you are in controll of the emergency services in the down town area of a city and you need to solve all emergencies occuring there. It's the same as the campaign mode inbetween missions. greetz,

You need a program to turn the .dds file in a workable format and a program to change the skin of the vehicle. Mikey made a FAQ for this in the FAQ section. It explains which tools you need before starting. Just take a look there. After you've changed the .dds file to a workable format you can open it with the image program and you can change the layout of the vehicle. Then save the new lay out, convert the file back to .dds format and replace the original file with the changed file. It might be wise to make a back up of the original before replacing it, just in case. greetz,

Don't bitch at other members, everybody is trying to help you here. You can use the editor to change the buildings on the map and add or remove vehicles etc. After that save the file and send it to your brother so that he can replace the map by the adapted version. If you both have all the other files the same you can play online via LAN together. It might be wise to make a backup copy of the map you want to change before starting, if anything goes wrong you can still play with the original map. greetz,
