I know which picture you're referring to, I browsed the topic but I couldn't find it anymore. I think it either was removed by the staff member who posted it or it was submitted a little longer ago then 'the other day'. We try to limit senseless swearing on this websit as much as possible, that's why I removed the F-word in the post above. I feel other staff members are responsible for their own posts. I will not go about editing their posts. What they post is their own responsibility. Although I'd like to point out the picture was placed to make a point in a funny way, it wasn't meant insulting like in the above post. That's all I can say about it.

The missing prototype thing is probably caused by a codec error. You can find some more information in the technical help FAQ. LA MOD does workj with w00ds map, even better LA MOD is required for w00ds map. Only you need to change the name of the file folders in w00ds files to Los Angeles mod v1.8 (in stead of 1.7) and then copy and paste them in the original LA MOD 1.8 folder. The pc may ask you to verwrite some files. Click yes.

Posts merged, next time use the edit button please. If you clicked the link rescue me provided you could have read that you need to change those values in the configuration file. It is called em4.cfg and can be found in the Emergency 4 default folder. If you can't seem to find the lines in the config file just use the search function of the editing program you are using (CTRL + F).

Well it could also be your videodrivers. Not that there old, but maybe there too new. EM4 was published a long time ago, some of the modern drivers are 'too hot to handle' for the game. So maybe the answer is downgrading your drivers to a version dating 2008. If you cannot find that version and if it didn't cause you a lot of trouble installing I'd say try deleting SP3 and see what it does. Make sure you do have the SP3 install file so you can reinstall SP3 if it has no effect.

I think you might have a codec problem (see the technical help FAQ) or it might be XP SP3. Try to see if you can solve the codec problem first by removing unused codecs.

I agree with you that everyone has to take the time to reread their posts. And if they see that it's ununderstandable they can adjust their post. There is an edit button for a reason. I really don't care about grammar or spelling that much because of all the nationalities here, but I do agree with you that adding a few dots here and some commas there would improve the quality of the text dramaticly. However besides pointing members to the fact that they write in a way nobody understands, there isn't much we can (or want?) to do about it. Just playing forum police and answering questions here can take me up to two or three hours a day. If we would also be correcting grammar and punctuation I would never be able to leave my laptop! That's why I feel everyone is responsible for his or her own use of language and punctuation. We do on occasion point out to people that they write things no one can understand. But we won't do it after one or two posts, only if it is a structural thing. Maybe in the future we will have time on our hands to enforce such rules. For now my advice: -when you type use punctuation (dots, commas etc.) -after you've posted reread your post. Use the edit button to correct flaws like spelling mistakes or misplaced dots. -make sure you think your post is understandable for other users. That way everybody is happy. It's more of a jungle inside a prison.

Go to the Emergency 4/mods folder and delete all folders/files that are named 'Los angeles mod'.

Well have you made any changes to the original game then? Your logfile says some of the paths are blocked. That is probably why it shuts down. You might want to consider a reinstall if you made any chnages. Also check if you have a folder called 'mods' in your main Emergency 4 folder. If not Manually add that folder. Oh and next time please use the attachment function to upload your dxdiag file and you mod file. That saves a lot of space and is much easier to read. Check out the Technical Help FAQ about the upload function if you don't know how to use it.
