Merged topic with the winterberg topic. A lot of things are already explained in this topic. Just browse thorugh it and I think you'll find most of the answers to your questions, including how to translate winterberg into an English version (yes you can!!!).

The game uses another code to make the traffic lights work. You can find out about that in this topic. But if you rename the traffic lights in the propreties screen in the editor you can use that name in the script you want to make. I really don't know how to script what you want, so I'll leave it at this.

Press the TAB button and see what objectives are still marked red. You need to complete those before you can progress to the next level.

It comes from the older emergency games. You would have accidents on freeways or something and one of your objectives was to avoid a traffic jam. Just placing an officer on the street would cause a jam, but letting the officer redirect traffic would prevent a jam. I think it's for the same reason they kept the redirect command, but somehow the cops in EM3 and EM4 sometimes turn away from the oncomming traffic. I think this has to do with the pathing of the game but I agree it is annoying. But then again so are your units getting stuck because trafic won't move.

Translating the whole video is too much work for me, but in short: The fire fighters in a small village in Germany had quite a scare when the responded to an accident call. When they arrived at the station they found the doors trashed and the fire truck was stolen. Nevertheless they loaded some backup equipment into their own cars and rushed to the accident site. There they had a second scare: the crashed vehicle was their own fire truck. Police are trying to find out who stole and crashed the car. Untill another truck is deliverd to the station neighbouring towns will take over all calls.

I found a workaround in this topic. If you change the unit ID the games timer doesn't work anymore. For example changing <unit id="LF"> into <unit id="FP">. Then the timer shouldn't be active anymore and you can send as many planes as you want. Now I also know waht the no display in the EM3 file meant: he made two prototype planes. One with the correct unit ID and one with an alternate unit ID. He hid the one with the correct unit ID by adding the nodisplay code. So it would have looked as if there only was one fire fighting plane without timer.

There is no topic for the EM3 Winterberg mod. And for the EM3 version there is also no translation available.

What codecs did you uninstall? Maybe one sounds familiar. Then you can reinstall the rest.

Did you run Sherlock?

You would have to look in your router manual. If you have the most common routers you can also look in this topic.

Emergency Saarland 2008 deluxe mod
pyrothijs replied to valmiustila's topic in Modding Related Support
How do you mean when you load the mod? You start the game, press modifications, select the saarland mod and press load. No other programs are required to load the mod. -
Nobody joining can also be caused because nobody wants to play on your server. If you want to be sure it's a technical defect you should arrange for people to play online with you. When they can't join you are sure it's a technical defect. Also make sure you have opened the correct ports and forwarded your ports to your IP.
-
I think you have a codec problem. Try disabling or uninstalling unused codecs. For more information see the Technical Help FAQ.

Hi and welcome to the forum! Nice to see someone posted an overview of how to open the ports on all different routers. I pinned the topic and added a link to it in the FAQ. It's a real nice addition to the forum.

His graphic drivers were last updated in 2007... That's not very modern. Furthermore, the display memory is quite low and you have a codec problem. You can download the most recent graphci drivers from your manufacturers website. You can find more about the codec problems and display memory in the Technical Help FAQ.

I'll add the tip to the FAQ today. Thanx for sharing

I believe you can change that in the edit lights menu in the editor.

Start --> run --> type DXDIAG --> press enter. When the scan is done save the results and upload them here on the forum. The logfile is located in the EM4 deluxe main folder (logfile.txt). For more help see the TECHNICAL HELP FAQ
