Replacing a vehicle in one of the fire stations
pyrothijs replied to Hoppah's topic in Alteration Help
It's not hard coded, but it is scripted. I think the BLS ambulance is scripted to look for a certain virtual object or path (I'm not at my own PC right now, can't check it). That VO or path is probably in fire station 2. If you move that to FS1, there should be no problem. -
Deleted the czech posts. Please speak English in the English part of the forum or at least provide us with an (accurate) English translation.

I believe one of the submods already contains an unmarked white charger. I don't think Hoppah is going to make a raid jacket since it's just eye candy and the swat team is supposed to do a raid. [EDIT] LOL we answered together [/EDIT]

Moved to EM4 Technical Help. You can check out the Technical HElp FAQ by the way. There are some tips to prevent lags and it also explains what a logfile and DXDIAG file is.

Apart from the oversized text, my signature complied with the rules. It clearly states: So because I only use two userbars I can also add an image/banner. As long as the heigth of the sinature doesn't exceed 140 pixels. Mine was exactly 140 pixels high. But I do agree there was no need for the banner to be exactly 140 pixels high, so to set an example I scaled down the image. I also changed the text to a normal size in stead of size 5.

I second that motion.

That depends which one you want to use. Some are the normal EM4 sirens (ambulances), but some of the sirens from the fire and police department are created by the Winterberg staff. Just compare the siren sounds you want to use to the default EM4 sirens first. If they do not match then you can always ask for permission.

Please talk English in here and do not write in CAPS. It looks like your yelling, nobody likes being yelled at. I translated the text for you this time.

Strange, I have a paper due next week, but after that I'll try and look into it.

You need to add the vehicles prototype to the vehicles.xml file. It is in the specs folder of the LA MOD folder. Just copy the text from one of the other police vehicles (e.g. the crown vic --> "ID_NAME_CV_LAPD"). Change the unit ID (e.g. to ID_NAME_VAN_LAPD) or something and insert the correct prototype path. Now you can edit speeds, costs etc. (very selfexplanatory). You can even add some images for the alarm menu (you would have to have made them in advance of course).

If you have the English version of the game, why would you need a patch to make the game English? As far as I know there is no patch to make the game English, there is just an English patch, for the English version of the game (UK versions only!). It fixes some corrupt files, but it doesn't translate the game.

Please read carefully. The English text files for the EM3 version do not come with the mod, but with the English EM3 game. Only the EM4 english translation is included with the mod.
-
I didn't say you could 'just' add it to the freeplay base. Of course you would have to at least at the SWAT van to the 'getrobot' script and you would have to change the units file so that the swat van can carry bomb squad guys.

Topic pinned. From now on we will keep all talk about the Rescue Trainer Mod in this topic. Everytime somebody discovers how to respond to an call, please tell us in this topic and I (or one of the other mods) will edit the first post of the topic and add it. It might not be the same as an english translation, but it is a good alternative. All solutions will be blacked out by spoilers, so if you don't want to see them you don't have to.

There is no English translation. There are only games in English. It just depends on what version you order. If you order 911:First Responders, that is completely in English. EM4 is available in many languages (English, French, German, Russian, etc.) It depends on the country you are buying it from. If you buy it from amazon.co.uk, I'm sure you get an English version. The easy way to translate the game is to download the LA MOD, copy all files from the language folder and paste them into the original games language folder. NOTE: do not copy any subfolders (called De, Fr or En) else it won't work. Just copy the files in those subfolders.

Isn't it automaticly spawned when you click the right vehicle with the bomb squad guy? So if you added the swat truck to the list of vehicles and you select that vehicle with the bomb squad guy it should display a 'get robot' command. Since the bomb squad guy isn't holding the robot I'm guessing the robot just spwans next to the vehicle. I'm not sure you need to add it as equipment to the vehicle.

No offense, but I've only seen six pictures of finished vehicles. We won't move anything to the 'mods' section unless it is nearly finished. We want to try to keep the finished mods in the mods section and the unfinished mods in the 'modding' section. At the moment things are still a bit of a mess, but when I have some time I'm planning on reorganizing both sections.

You really think they just had a 3 year delay without any update? It is probably very, very dead and is never gonna be finished.

Did you select the correct game folder when you installed it? NB: you should not select the mods folder when installing the game, but your default EM4 folder.

Did you deleted your old drivers using the software list from the configuration screen? If not acces that list and see if part of the old drivers are still present. -
[EM4] Los Angeles Mod bugs, issues and problems
pyrothijs replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod
You would still have to download and install patch 2. Hoppah hasn't uploaded an improved version of the mod yet. I just saw he edited the download file so now I'm not sure anymore he hasn't uploaded the new mod or not. But the installer autodetects if the patch is already installed, so you can just try. If the mod already includes the patches, the installer won't install them again. -
Can't you just add the commands from the bomb squad truck to the swat truck and delete the swat commands? Also just delete the swat personel and add the bomb squad personel to the vehicle. That should do the trick I think.

1. Not by default, the game only recognises the existing 5 filenames as sirens. Maybe if you made your own siren script. But that would be a very difficult script to make and would take a lot of work. 2. I have a slight idea (using the call scripts from the battalion chief and combining them with the part of the script that buys new engines from off the map) but I just suck at scripting, so I'm not gonna try my hand at this.

Submod: New Freeplay Map Second Edition - update
pyrothijs replied to w00d's topic in Submods [Not released]
The map was made for v1.8 and it had some bugs on that version, so I don't think it will work really well with V1.9. But the only way to find out is to download and install it...
