The whole PASS alarm discussion has been had earlier in the suggestions topic. I believe the outcome was that a PASS alarm will not be added because it would be freaking anoying if fire fighters would stand around doing nothing and they're pass alarm would go off. But it might be an idea to add it to wounded fire fighters only (so in stead of the scream you hear when a cop or civilian goes down, you hear a PASS alarm go off).

If the Ward La France model was made by Helljumper, it's not up to you to decide who can and can't use the model in their mods. Iwolf would have to contact Helljumper to get permission.

Making An Emergency In Freeplay?
pyrothijs replied to racer123246's topic in Modding Related Support
there is a script for that in the winterberg mod. If it's for personal use only you can just copy and paste that script. You do might need to adapt the command name in the script (I believe in winterberg the command is called pullover while here it is called chase). -
In that case could you tell me the screen settings you are running on now? Maybe it is helpfull for people in the future.

1. What in hevaens name is unit use? 2. What do you mean by 'leaving it' and to what can't of spawn point do you want to send the vehilce to (off the map?) 4. Set the vehicle in the 'is parked' mode in the vehicle traits. I'm not sure if you can use it as a unit after that though. Moved to modding & mod help since this isn´t LA MOD specific

Problems with missing models isnt fixing by reinstalling game or mod
pyrothijs replied to a topic in Los Angeles Mod
Use the search function of your PC to search for the files freeplay.dds, freeplay.e4m and freeplay.eft. (in case you have EM4 deluxe also search for dfreeplay.dds, dfreeplay.e4m and dfreeplay.eft). See if you might have copied them somewhere else on your PC (temporary folders). Also try emptying your carbage bin, delete your browsers caché and redownload the mod before you reinstall it. -
It's in the menu bar of windows explorer...

Or you could have just downloaded the default config file from the database and use it to replace your current config file.
-
It means your game is waiting for something to be spawned/build/rendered but in the meanwhile it gets other commands for that same object as well. Which it obviously can't execute because the object is still being spawned/build/rendered. For more information check out this post.

You can also use fraps to make a simple screenshot. You can even use your print screen button to do that.

Your videocard drivers date back from 2007. Try to find more recent drivers. We recommend installing drivers from 2008 because some games (for some odd reason) have trouble with drivers from 2009. You can download the drivers on the ATI website.
-
Yes, in may 2007... Try to see if there is a newer version. If you can find one from 2008 try to use that first since some 2009 versions have been reported to give problems with Emergency.

When exactly did you get the error? What were you doing at the time? Was it with a LA MOD vehicle or an AUS vehicle?

I have XP, but I'm guessing Vista will be somewhat simular. Right click the EM4 folder and choose propreties. Now go to the security tab. There you can see which users have the right to open, alter and delete the folder. Run DXDIAG or reinstall DirectX.
-
It should be possible, but I can imagine it would take some scripting to get it to work. I'm not very familiar with that so I'm afraid I can't help you out on this one.

I see you have windows Vista. Two of the major causes for games to crash on windows Vista are: -you are not running the game in administrator mode/high priority mode -you did not disable the UAC (user account controll). Try these solutions and see if it will start the game. If they don't work you can take a look in the EM4 Game FAQ for more solutions to make the game run smooth on Vista. As you can see, I already knew that

Next time please upload your logfile as an attachment. I put in a codebox for now. I'm also going to need your DXDIAG file, that's were I can see what kind of PC you have (see Technical Help FAQ). Normally when people have this problem we recoimmend them to download the config file from our download database and to use it to replace their own config file (simply past it in the EM4 main folder and overwrite the old file). But I see you have already done that a few times, so I'm guessing it's your PC.

I would still like to see the DXdiag please

I don't quite get what you want to be doing here, could you make a drawing or something to help me understand?

The warning has something to do with the auto-closing of certain game screens. You can compare it to your printer: when the printer is done printing, the screen on your PC telling you the printer is busy printing closes automaticly. In order for the screen to close a listener (e.g. the printer saying to the PC "I'm done with printing") needs to be registered by the computer. Unfortunatly that's all I know about it, so I couldn't tell you where the problem with Emergency is located. But we all get that error, so I'm assuming it's a game flaw or it is caused by the crash. I don't think it causes the crashes. About your problem: are you by any change running on Vista? Posts merged please use the edit button next time.

Are you running the game in administrator mode/high priority mode? Have you disabled UAC (user account controll)? In our Technical help FAQ we have some guidelines for people who try to play EM4 on windows Vista. You can check and see if you took al the necssary steps.
