Why don't you try using the new version? Visual Basic 2008 Express, I think it's a freeware, and can be downloaded from Microsoft's website.

Depends what you want to do... I like Adobe Premiere for editing stuff, but if you want to make some special effects, I would suggest Adobe After Effects. I used both of them at school, both of them are pretty good...

I've started learning Visual Basic this morning, and by following tutorials I made a simple calculator. Tell me how it looks like, and rate it. I'm about to start another tutorial, maybe tomorrow I can show you what I've done.

I don't have too many experiences on the editor, but I think you will only need to open the freeplay map then add the motorcycle in the accident scene. That's a nice idea you got there!
