  1. Nevermind. Seems to be working now. For some reason Neither Windows nor BootCamp was updating my drivers, they kept saying I had the latest drivers. After manually downloading and installing the newest drivers the problem seems to be solved.
  2. Here's the logfile and DxDiag. If it helps to actually see what is happening, I might be able to get a video up on YouTube or something showing the actual screen and what is going on... Like I said before, the game appears to run fine (granted, the flashing is too annoying to play a full game). Other games, such as Company of Heroes and Age of Empires III run fine, so hopefully we can find a solution to the problem. logfile.txt DxDiag.txt
  3. When I launch 911: First Responders, everything runs fine, except for the fact that the screen is constantly flashing. (The grid in the background, like in the mod editor, keeps flashing in and out of view.) The game itself runs fine and if I wanted to I could play an entire game without any problems, the screen just keeps constantly flashing. I'm running the game on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. My graphics card is nVidia GeForce 9400m. I tried rolling back the driver, but when I did this the game failed to start completely. Edit: I am running Windows via BootCamp on my MacBook. I don't think this is a problem as I have other games installed (such as Company of Heroes) which run fine, with no issues. I just figured I'd add that incase it might be relevant. Edit: Also tried compatibility mode; didn't work.
  4. Sounds like its definitely a video card problem. (Side note: The video card snaps into the motherboard so therefore there is always the possibility of a motherboard fault, or CPU fault for that matter since Windows fails to load.) Best bet would be to replace the video card. Even if the video card fan is not working, if I am correct these are typically attached directly to the card, and replacing these would require a full card replacement. If you happen to have spare video cards, or know some1 that has some try replacing yours with these, even if they arent proper specs required for this game or modding, just to narrow the problem down. Hope you figure it out and get it fixed.
  5. I meant the bug fixes patch, v1.8.1, sorry for not being clear on that. Tried clearing temporary files, and tried Firefox and Internet Explorer, but it sill says the file cannot be found. I don't know why this isn't working for me...
  6. Clicked the link for the mod patch, and I also got an error saying that the file cannot be found. If I redownload v1.8 will the patch be included?
  7. There are a ton of US cities that would make great mods. The only problem is the lack of time and modders. There aren't a whole lot of people who can create good modifications out there, and those that can are usually busy with current mods or with real life. I think if more people take an interest in this game, and in modding, we will see more mods of various cities...
  8. Yesterday, watching some 9/11 vids and remembrance things, this came across my mind: Are you planning on making missions or your own freeplay maps for this mod? Or are you just planning on using the maps already given? if your just gonna use the maps already in game then the following doesn't apply. Are you planning to incorporate ground zero/ twin towers in the mod in some way? I know someone brought this up in a previously planned NY mod before cancelling it, and this topic sturs up a lot of controversy. Personally i think putting in some type of memorial would be nice, and would be a nice tribute to the heros that gave their lives. I don't know what other people think about this, but i think it would be kinda cool to put something there for 9/11.
  9. currently, the NY mod is being worked on. If no one starts a DC mod, if I can figure out some modding, Id definately be interested in creating one myself. the only problem is i don't currently no how to mod. But, if I figure it out, a DC mod would definately be one Id like to make. Now
  10. I looked at a ton of pics of NYFD trucks. none of the trucks or engines, ladders etc. have LED lights. The only NYFD unit that crosses my mind that may possibly have LED lights is the battalion? For the most part, the LED lights are found on the police cars, so thats where you will probably see the LED lightbars. EMS units that use LEDs i dont know of, but i havent looked either.
  11. Looks great. I wish I had 3D modeling skillz. I know very basic stuff but I wouldn't be able to create a nice looking vehicle. Keep it up. The models look great, I can't wait to see what other vehicles you plan on adding to the mod. This just crossed my mind: I've happened to notice that many other modders have lost their files due to a system crash or some error. I just wanna put it out there that if you don't have any place of backing up your files my computer is wide open. It's brand new with plenty of HD space, so the files would be safe. I'd hate to see another mod suffer a data loss. Again, nice work on those models.
  12. I found this site with a ton of blueprints. I am having difficulty finding prints of police cars themselves, but it might be possible to model somthing like a Chevy Impala (which NYPD uses a lot of) and add lights from seperate prints?? Here's the link.
  13. Here's a link of a site I found with many different fire trucks. Its mostly engines, ladders and battalions, but there are some special units. The vehicles are divided by the sections of NY: Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island and Queens. All pics are also divided by the company each truck is from. A few pics are old, but there are some recent ones available. The site is here.
