Off-the-Job Emergencies you've encountered
Newfoundking replied to njboy13's topic in [EN] Off Topic
I've been headed home many times and I've come by car accidents, usually EMS or fire is on scene, any they'll have the situation under control, however once or twice I've been out and about and we were the first to see the accident, so we'd end up calling 911, and providing medical assistance, (we are all at least first responder medical trained in my family) until the paid guys show up, then we just basically bring them up to speed and continue on with our lives. Never had to deal with something bad, usually it's like font to front or rear enders.. Only minor stuff. I was at my friends once when his step sister managed to catch the stove on fire. Got to meet the fire department again that day, this time on less than ideal terms. We had the fire almost completely extinguished before the trucks arrived though, so it was again nothing major. What else is there? My dad had the brilliant idea of working on the truck and he didn't secure it, so it fell off the jack and landed on top of him. He managed to get out from under it while 911 was being called, then he just kinda waited for the ambulance, he was still breathing and all that, all I could really do was wait for the paramedics, and get his drug info ready for them. He has a high pain tolerance.. Apparently he should be missing half his foot but he managed to get out before any major damaged could be done. His foot is still blue and purple though. He jokes some people paint their toes, he paints his foot from the inside out. The rest I've encountered has just been like passing out, minor medical problems.. well I consider it minor, but keep in mind I saw the paramedics at my house so often over a three year period, they all knew me by name and vice versa, and I even got a birthday gift from one once A lot of my friends and family will end up passing out or requiring an ambulance at least once a year, nothing major, but like if they pass out and strike their head, or are unresponsive after 5 minutes(a chronic condition a friend has) then we need to call an ambulance, so I'll usually deal with paramedics once or twice a month. -
Now I know that we do have the oldest civil police force in North America, yes older then NYPD or any others for that matter, however I didn't really read the entire history, I do believe it's on the RNC's site though. I am a little more up to date on the Fire departments history. It does not have royal status nor is it the oldest (I don't think so anyways.) It was founded after the second great fire in the 1800's because almost the entire city had burned down twice in less than 50 years. Now in the entire history of the department, which I think is pretty cool, only one fire fighter has ever died on duty. Isn't that pretty awesome? And he didn't die at a fire, he actually died in the station back when they used horses and carts. He was walking around the horse bay I guess it could be called, when a box alarm from downtown went off and it scared a horse awake, and then it ran him over, cart and all. Needless to say he lost that battle. Since the St. John's fire department has started in the 1800's it has grown substantially and now is the St. John's regional Fire department, covering most of the greater Metro area, and has it's own website now and everything. It's still pretty new and you can find a much more detailed history at http://www.sjrfd.ca For those of you interested in the RNC history, their main site is: http://www.rnc.gov.nl.ca/default.htm History link for the RNC is: http://www.rnchs.ca/ (Yes it's so old it gets it's own society)

Customizing A Riot Scenario...?
Newfoundking replied to CaptainNegatory's topic in Modding Related Support
I think he wants that as a mission... And yes it is, Hoppah had the riots on the LA map go starting with like 10 or 20 people.. -
The whole point of the AUS was so that the Federal mod units wouldn't go to waste, plus people could have extra units... Really you only need about 5 police cars in total, and you could easily get away with no more than 30 vehicles in the entire mod, probably less.. The rest are just because Hoppah loves us soo much

Ahh the dutch, lucky... Cops here don't care enough, they only really care for the harder drugs now, beer+weed=noise complaints from neighbours, other than that, nothing SWAT team related (unless it escalates obviously)
-
It's impossible for anything to be completely bug free, but I'm sure that they will do their best to remove any and all bugs they can.

01:54, Happy new years

Another good trick for aiming vehicles, like if you want them to stop in the lane perfectly, order them to go a little farther then you want, then when they are near where you want, press either the traffic advisor button or unload vehicle, then it'll stop right in the middle of the lane, AND the advisor will be pointed towards traffic

He's an Admin, he's supposed to be here late.. I was here until 4:30 this morning my time.. Last time I checked that'd be a half decent hour for the Dutch, so my shift ended and they could start theirs We watch you 24/7, there is no hiding at all... EVER! Correction, that'd be Stan in his spare time, where did you think ALL the ad money went? To pay for the site? Noooo, he buys us a an excavator, I fly up every weekend, and we play with it... PS while we are at it, click some of those will ya? It's getting more and more costly to fly up. (Seriously though, click some ads, it does pay for the site)

Wait, those are weird? Aside from the jeep they all looked pretty regular to me

My things that I want feedback on never ever go on facebook, I usually spread those around to sites like this, that have absolutely nothing to do with writing, and I get an opinion from the general public, not a bunch of friends, and not a bunch of stuck up snobs reading books all day. After all, I write aiming to please real people, not book critics.. They are the ones that would buy it. If I please them, good for me, but I know when I book shop, I look at user reviews not the ones that critics wrote. I only put things up on facebook I want certain people to read, like the stuff I write is usually directed at a few people, but apparently the way I write, it can relate to almost anyone.
-
My new years resolution isn't really a resolution, because those usually fall out for me... I have one real goal this year, and that's to put out two books, both of which I'm halfway done, so I should have no problem doing it I do have a little thing I wrote about new years resolutions though if anyone is interested
-
Well my everyday stuff actually doesn't leave my hard drive or book... It all stays put.. I have been throwing thoughts on to facebook becasue most people aren't forward enough to address their problems, and would rather read a thought provoker instead and solve it their own way, so that's what I do... My stuff is 50% fix yourself, 50% be a better person stuff
-
I have my writings in places where they are pretty open, so they should be accessible, however, my life problems dealio thing I do daily I have on facebook, and as public as I tried, I don't know how public it is.. If you have something you want to read about, I probably wrote about it, so just let me know, I'll have something for you.. If you just want a thought provoker, I have a nuch of those too..
-
Then you had plans to pirate it?!!?!? Tsk tsk tsk, setting bad examples
-
Alright, I think we all got the point, if a moderator or admin wishes to add in they can, but as for now, I'm just going to close this topic
-
No, that's MikeyPI, already found
-
If we are putting in a few more, I totally agree with this one I need something for my angry rage of warnings
-
IT's actually been pretty nice for me the past few weeks, I usually need nothing more than a hoodie when outside, I might have to wear a long sleeve shirt under it though when the wind blows, a windy day where I live is around 70 km/h, so the winds get pretty chilly. (for those of you still on the imperial system that's about 45 mph)
-
Guys, back to the topic at hand, finding the missing secret
-
65 mph winds? That's worrisome? Come on, I see that on a little storm Seriously though, it's nothing for 150kmh (around 95pmh) winds in the wreckhouse area.
