Well if you say you know a modelling program, learn Zmod. 2 It's your best bet. As for learning about other things, play around in the edtior on maps that already exist, learn how things work, once you think you've got a fair understanding of whats already there, try to add more, then try to start adding units, and scripts and see what happens. There's lots of tutorials all about to helpo you along the way as well as a mostly nice (excluding me ) community very willing to help explain things

Right now police just show up and arrest, don't ask questions, just arrest, that's kinda unrealistic

Hey guys, reason why I haven't posted updates in ages will be announced shortly However I have an update on my progress, just no screen caps or anything.. I'm currently in the process of redoing the ambulance: (It should look like this: minus the new grille, that's not included on this model) As well as catching up on the Fire Department, I've had both the pumper and Ladder done, just I need to scale them to size and put them in game the right way. After that will come a few little things not required but nice to have. Two things I am purposely excluding from this mod mostly for sake of realism will be the police helicopter and an armoured vehicle. RNC doesn't use either, and nor will we. Mind you I will be including a tactical team, just with a twist. This is meant to be a lot of strategy, and not a lot of commands.

For Freeplay? Theoretically yes, though without advanced scripting knowledge, it's highly unrecommended...

It isn't cheating it's detective work. You first check the obvious filename, and location of the picture, then if you can't find that, you look at the logo, and then the surrounding evidence, then the colour scheme and like that. There is only one way of cheating and that is to have the one with the picture upload tell you

Here's the thing, if they made it modern, then the game would be a lot like CSI or other games like that. I think the reason they kept it so old is because in the 40's it was a lot more basic, and this stuff was just really starting up again after the war. I tihnk they could create a game where the first few levels of this game (as a patrol officer) could be most of the game, and set it nowadays, and it could get really interesting.

A little saying in many police departments is this: Remember next time your about to embark on a gun fight with a bad guy He's wearing the most expensive body armour he can find, he probably has a gun outlawed in most countries because it's so deadly, and he has the advantage of hiding You're wearing the cheapest bidder's armour, and your gun? The cheapest they could get, which is also very controlled so it isn't too deadly. And oh yeah, you have no idea where he's to. Just to top it off. Same goes for all emergency services, but the police one just makes it a little funny when you read it. Nothing is ever based on looks, it's based on how cheap it is

Show me a picture of both, I think you are changing the filename or something, becuase if you do, then that'll make the material for the model non existant anymore. It looks for THISSKIN.dds, not the file contents of THISSKIN.dds

In regards to traffic stop cases, I doubt it, since in the 40's is wasn't that big of a deal. I think it will be mostly big cases, since back in 1947, a lot of police work now wasn't really as important, and most places didn't have highway traffic

I don't want to buy a new case, but instead design my own, for several reasons. 1. I don't like most other cases, they aren't interesting enough, and when they get interesting, they get out of my price range for a case 2. They aren't personal... It's just a fancy cookie cutter 3. It doesn't do what I want it to

Deluxe is a seperate entity from 911:FR.. There is no way to "Unlock it" They were made at two seperate times. Deluxe has features in no other game at all, and that's how it is. If you want to use Deluxe features, you have to buy deluxe. If you don't want to buy deluxe you don't get to play deluxe features

It's obvious that there isn't that much of a change between the two games, so in theory, you can mod 2012, but my question is, is it really worth the effort?

I wanna clarify something though, without real life experience of some sort, you probably won't jump straight to TAC, just becuase you need to know your stuff to work it. Usually what I do is have people work patrol, learn the game, then join TAC. Right now, I'm looking mostly for a negotiator

To remake the game would be not worth your time, however it has been done to unlock files using the Emergency 4 editor, showing the developers lack of a new game, but regardless. This is also a tidbit. If you work hard, you can techincally unlock files, import them into into the emergency 4 editor, and theoretically make a whole mod there. I've been experiementing on and off, and I know others have too, and you can get prototypes, skins, files all sorts of things, so by no means is this game fully mod-able, however there are ways to mod it. Now that I've borken the news, and how to do it, have fun doing it

Sevearal vehicles were kept with the old style to keep variability in the mod. Mind you, it's only been a few years since the mod started, so many units are still inservice. Most upodates would be tiny things like Lightbars, etc
