After years of an emptying European Market, it's now our pleasure to create a new section devoted to just European Modding, as well as announce the appointment of a special moderator for this section.Hello to all! As a predominately European Game, it's always been a bit strange that we're mostly focused on American Modding. There's an obvious desire to see more European modding from that community, so we as a staff have been working with a well known name to develop just that. It's my pleasure to welcome and announce Ghost Graphic Designs (aka Ghost) to our staff as head over the European Modding section. This section will be the home to all European based mods. Any preexisting mods will be moved over the next few days that belong in this category. Ghost will be the main moderator for this area, so any issues within this forum, please contact him first. Welcome aboard Ghost, and good modding to all! Click here to view the article

I think that scrolling comes from touching one of the arrows during load time. Try again without touching a single key until the game is fully responsive and see if the issue still exists. That's the only cause I've ever seen for it

I assume you're looking at something like the LA Mods to station script. Basically units have a button that returns them to a specific place on the map, defined by a virtual object slightly larger than the vehicle, and then makes the vehicle appear to be "off" To do that, you would use that script or one similar to define the vehicles in question as well as the virtual objects which would be the parking spots. The script when activated by the button would then tell the vehicle to go back to the virtual object it's associated with, assuming you definedn that vehicle, and face in the defined direction. You may need to toy with that depending on the layout of your mod. Understanding so far?

It's unfortunate it's come to this, that I have to define in writing you cannot bully or harass other members. These rules are nothing new at all, it's just now that we're writing them down as many people just don't seem to understand that by visiting a website, you are not granted special rights to be an asshole

If the models you are using are by Chris07 and he gave permission with credit, so long as you credited, things are fine. If the models are by losangelesi, then you require his credit.

Well given the fact that clans are usually small, like under ten people, what point is it to have so many moderators? Here we have two positions: Staff member, and member. There's not much need to have numerous sections like that at all. So these positions are supposed to be community administrators? If so, what type of rank gets what?
-
Since this has always intrigued me, and no one has provided any type of answer maybe you guys can. What exactly is the point of officer ranks in a multiplayer system where you're all supposed to work as emergency operations supervisors. I've played MANY a game with almost every mod that's been put up here. I've learned a lot of it I'd like to think, but I've never seen a game where it's good to have four people working in a rank structure. I've played divisions where we each take areas. Like for instance I may cover PD South and EMS, you might cover PD North and Tech, And the other two will split fire rescue. Of course we can always rotate it around or whatever, but its the idea. I just don't see why ranks matter to this? Maybe, since you're still evolving your MP (unless you've developed a system where it works) you should look at positions instead of ranks?

Don't buy it if you're fed up. It's clear the developer isn't in this to hear the community, they're in it for their pockets. It's clear the shortlist we all want: Siren controls Trailers On map open house stations (realistic units) Traffic control Improved AI logic, including traffic Em4 style mod capabilities, or at least finished systems with documentation provided Some of these issues have been around since the early 2000s with emergency 3 and mods like LA whereas others have been in response to latest releases. Modding is important to this game, however people are much more likely to be interested if they add the stuff the community adds to every single mod to improve basic functions. This game has gone the disturbing trend of pay more for less that many devs have done. Those who join into it are a part of the problem. If you don't like it, speak with your wallet, your voice has been shown to not matter

Our Terms have been updated to reflect some of the ways we have been dealing with problems we've encountered as of late. Click "terms" to agree and read. The updated terms of service include: Clarifications regarding the Advertising clause. If you're advertising a non commercial Emergency related venture, that's fine. If you stand to make money, you must get prior written authorization from us to post it. That means a mod gofundme, kickstarter, whatever, you cannot post it here unless you enter an agreement with us, usually where you'll be paying to advertise the venture. There's also a definition place in for what is a public versus a private mod, it's common sense, but feel free to review it. We also added in writing that we do not tolerate abusive behaviour of any sorts. If you don't want to follow the rules and play nice, you're still not welcome here. We want a fun community, so behave and it will be. As always, if you have any issues with these adjustments, please contact staff and we'll close your account. Discussion can be posted in this thread. Thank you, EMP Click here to view the article

If they were recruited before the copyright violations were made, that does not change the fact. Also, you're lying there. The first time you were told about copyright was about two weeks ago, and we are aware that you were sending copies of the mod to people AFTER that. So if you have a mod team who is working on it, regardless of when you gave them the mod, it's not a private modification. People aren't bitching either. The rules state that you must have permission for any content you use in a mod. You do not have permission for content in the mod. Therefore you are in violation of the rules. If you distribute the mod to any one, you're not a private mod, and therefore in violation. Your attitude about this whole thing isn't gonna cut it. You're a visitor on this site, and must adhere to the rules. There's no discussion. You're missing the point that this isn't a discussion. You're in violation of the rules regarding fair use and copyright. These rules have been explained NUMEROUS times to you as have your options, but once more might do the trick. By sharing this modification with anyone, this mod becomes a public mod. Public mods must adhere to the fair use and copyright rules of this site. That means all content must have permission to be included. Your normal options include removing the content and gaining permission, however since you're fighting it, at least one author has stated you must remove the offending content. Given your attitude about this issue, as well as your conduct, the staff has issued a 1 week suspension. Due to the violations of this mod, in addition to this user's behaviour, the topic will be closed immediately, and may be reopened upon the user's return, given that he is willing to follow the rules for modifications on our site. -

Just out of curiousity now, are you recruiting a team? If you are, then you are required to classify yourself as a non private mod, meaning you must adhere to the copyright rules, including obtaining permission for any unit or object in the mod. Private mods are just that, mods that you develop for your sole use. If you wish to continue to develop the mod privately, with just you working on it, that's fine. If not, please be advised you must adhere to the rules. -
WELL.... It does say unstable release, which means there are many features which are not completed or otherwise buggy, therefore resulting in unstable gameplay. Unstable release = crashing game.

Need a lighter or skinner for your mod?
Newfoundking replied to Mindcat's topic in Development Resources
I'm curious, just to feed the fish here. In your video you showcase some LED Light edits. To me, LEDs are not overly difficult, because the game system works better with those than any other type. What I'm curious is can you do halogen/rotator style lights. I'm also wondering how you set up patterns for LEDs other than the standard 1 2, perhaps a flash more similar to some of the more popular Whelen patterns. Also, how many coronas/other light elements would you use on a car? I'm wondering this because I've seen many do vehicles with 200+ lights that should be no more than 50, but I've seen many who do LEDs and cannot do rotator styles at all without bogging the system down with many more lights than necessary. I personally follow the less is more approach. If you can make a realistic pattern with fewer lights, why not? So, in summary, what other types of lights can you do (examples would be nice) and how heavy are your loads? -
! Toronto Mod - Canceled - Terrow will make one !
Newfoundking replied to TheVolume's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
Thing is, if you're modding for an audience and for the fame associated with it, meaning you're only in it for the reward you'll get from us drooling over your work, get out of the game right now. Unless you're releasing daily updates with real progress, or weekly updates with ground breaking new things, you will not develop any kind of cult following watching the development of this mod. And then when it's released, you'll get a busy topic for a day or two, maybe even a week before people start to get bored, and want to see either more stuff, or get ready to move to another mod. So if you expect us to be actively drooling as a community at every update showing a new skin and begging for more, more, more, then I suggest you adjust your expectations. If you cannot mod without us supporting you with a cult following when you give the community nothing more than some pictures, I suggest stopping. Like the post above mine says, do something you like, and do something that is for you. As you release updates people will follow. You only get chatter if you're releasing something for people to chatter about. We don't beg for more. In fact, there's rules against that. -

Maybe you should pick a project and develop something with it before you start all this releasing information and cancelling the mods. Either that or pick smaller projects. You've had several projects now and you haven't stuck with any of them. You're either thinking too big or you're getting stuck up at one part. Either way, think smaller and don't spend all your time publishing progress. You're going to lose any type of follower pretty soon if mods keep getting cancelled like this. -
It should be done through the logmein hamachi method. It's foolproof that way, the regular way is hit or miss, usually miss.

Prove it. Let's see some work showing you're able to model and texture and then you may get someone interested.

FULL credits are only required on the first post. The actual showcasing of a single model only requires credits of those who did something to that specific model. -
Now wonder this game is failing (WHERE IS THE SUPPORT?)
Newfoundking replied to William Stapleford's topic in General Talk
Hey no, I totally get you. The beginning of the game looked promising. We heard from sixteen tons, quadriga games, all that crowd on here. It was nice. Maybe they were listening it looked. Then they had Stan in on some preview stuff. Again, promising, and the game looked like it might answer some of the things we were looking for. Even if it was the same as Emergency 4, just with an updated engine and graphics, we could work with that. And then we see the price tag. Heavy, but many paid. Well that was a disappointment. I played two missions and packed it back up, never to be opened again. It was a waste of a game, that's clear. It's also clear the English community isn't wanted. Many modders are continuing in emergency 4, but unless there's a drastic change (and even still, it may be too late) Emergency 5 is dead in the water. It's too much work for not enough gain. This isn't the standard the community was used to, and we're let down as a whole. You were probably the most dedicated english one I've seen so far, but as it's clear, even you're fed up with it. I was a doubter from Em 2012 onwards, but oh well. -
Looks like Quint 82 is a Ferrara Igniter, while the rest seems to be KME. There are a few brush or utility units. If you google the dept, look under images, there's quite a few detailed sites that at least give you vehicle specs to work with. Volly depts in my experience have more "light duty" or small rigs than a paid would. Might be easier to work that in. Perhaps even look at adjusting the dynamic?

Please read the first page. There's been updates to the LA MOD content by Hoppah, allowing free use follow a certain set of basic rules. Any questions, please post them here

If the SCUBA unit is still in your mod, that unit has been noted (several times) as being used without permission. If this is in, you either need to obtain permission or remove it all together. There's no questions about that. I'm telling you now so you can comply because if you release it after you've been told you can't, you'll probably get some much worse punishment -

Newfoundking replied to poole3003's topic in Modification Sub-Mods WIP (In Development)
Okay, that's a good start, but you need a few more things to be compliant. FIRST: You need to going forward, provide a full credit list. If you showcase something, you need to provide full credits ON THAT POST and if you ever release, you need a full itemized credit list. That means you need to list who made what. Not just who contributed. SECOND I've received a report through our center that you're using models that you've been explicitly told no. Now until I receive a report from the one that owns em, all I can do is tell you not to, but if you do in fact have an actual report brought up on you by the author of a model you're using without permission, you can and probably will be banned for doing so. Both on here and any other sites you may participate on, as ALL the Emergency 4 boards have the same rules for content usage. So I highly suggest you get permission for the models you have if you plan on releasing, else you'll be facing a significant amount of hardship. -
Don't reply to that message from Mindcat, he's since been dealt with

Okay, and here we are. You're going on a vacation. Say a week. Next time it'll be longer. You're not a staff member. In fact, you're only being a rude little problem maker. Learn to behave or stop posting. There's all sort of problems with the way you've been behaving. Enough's enough.
