The new units will be textured like the Em4 units and the police pursiut will allow the police sedan and the station wagon to follow a vehicle like the helicopter. The problem you're going to have here is that you can't give regular units the heli follow command, they disobey physics and drive thru everything then. As for a modified script that will allow following, that wouldn't work. You can createa a script like Hoppah did in the LA mod where it will stop the car, but the game isn't made for police pursuits. Doesn't work. Texture will also involve changing the units Dept, the Boat Truck and the Hazmat Truck will be skinned into tech vehicles. I'm still looking for a team. Personally, I think you're much better off doing some work yourself, to get it started... If I started a New York mod a year and a half ago and said help me, no one would... Well, lemme rephrase that, if I did it on a new account.. I'm a moderator, people look to please me, I'm an exception to the rule Anyways, now that we have a mod out, people are lining up to help us, so put out some work, and you'll have people volunteering to help

If you mean as in just the actual physical ground itself, you just didn't bring over the texture for the ground. Now if you mean the full map itself, then you obviously didn't take the map file itself into the game. I'm assuming his mod comes as is in a rar file *double checks* Yeah it's as an EXE in the rar download and unzip as usual, then click the exe, follow the instructions and it should work fine. Mind you this is looking for the LA mod itself.. I haven't downloaded it myself, so I don't know100% if you can select the install point, but that's unimportant. Make sure you have the most up to date LA mod downloaded, then download unzip and install these maps. Your problem looks that a file or two isn't making it over, so check to make sure the installation goes right. I do believe a readme is included with complete instructions, as Hoppah usually does that, but just incase: ------ Make sure you have installed patch v2.0.1 for the Los Angeles Mod (Information) Download the submod here: * DOWNLOAD * Size: 40,2 MB 1. Unzip the package and double click the .exe file 2. Follow instructions and make your choice which map you want to install 3. Done --------\ Lemme know if you're still having troubles

Please note, Em1 let you see several stories to a structure, Em4 eliminated that, and we see only one floor on each structure, the rest apparently are impassable

Just an update for anyone interested.. I've been busy with the NY mod, but inmy spare time, I'm sitll working on my mod. I have just completed a few new trucks, one being the Bomb Squad unit, another being the Prison Transport, a marked impala, and an unmakred chief unit for the SJRFD, as he actually drives. I'll try to get picture up soon

The RAR file contains the e4mod file, and the readme. The mod file you open with the modinstaller and then install. The Readme, that's to learn how to use the mod and what it is, who did what, etc

Helicopters don't care for whatever is in the air, be it clouds of buildings, they will fly through them

We will look at fixing the wye issues, and putting in other features that we have said we'd try to resolve known issues with, but that doesn't mean it will happen. Unless we can get it working to a degree where we are happy with it, it probably won't come in

This topic is old and dead. Germans kicking an english only player out of their server is not racism... Racism: The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, esp. so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. IF they said you're too dumb to play because you're american, thenthat's racism. IF they said no because you couldn't communicate with them, which is vital in this game, then that's understandable, and expected. You wouldn't play a game with someone if they only typed in chinese. Using the Mod installer, it should create it's own folder into the mods directory. This shouldn't touch the LA mod at all, it never did for me

well if you have a paid for copy, and it's from atari, many users are complaining of problems with that. If you downloaded it as in a torrent, you're outta luck, as there is so many things that can go wrong with those, we don't support them

Nope, not allowed. We have placed it in a e4mod file for a reason, which is to inhibit people that didn't buy the game.. If you bought the game, then reinstall. There is an issue with the Atari download, but you need to contact them about that error, since that's beyond our control. Long story short, regardless of your reason, we will not be uploading a completely unpacked version of this mod, simply because it's not like we're asking you to buy a 50 dollar game, so if you wanna download a crappy torrent and it doesn't work, then that's too bad. Also, pleas enote, I'm not saying you've downloaded it illegally, I'm just stating this was something that happened to be noticed when we did the e4mod package, and it was kept. If yuo have a legit version, we can help you make it work, otherwise, buy a copy, and then try again.

Wye, I know my personal opinion on it, is that it kinda is useless, since the new map will be almost all urban, and there will be very few missions in which you don't have a hydrant to connect to close enough... Stnadpipes on enterable buildings poses a problem i think since the building would need a child added and as far as I know, there would be a fair bit of scripting needed

Las Vegas was already done -.- I was thinking DC too, that could go really well, at least I could see it going really well. Personally, I'd like to see a better GTA San Andreas on their new engine, new story line, but this time not from Grove Street OGs... Thing I didn't like about that game was you kinda already started high up in a gang, and I think they could take a new spin in a different location, even kill Carl ?

I liked how they made GTA Vice City full of plot elements that were huge back in the 80's in Miami, including the miami vice car Personally, I'd like to see somewhere different than just the standard places they've been reusing

I think they will do well if they do Los Santos because that area, they managed to work in three cities, and allow a lot of area. I personally liked all the flights you could make, whereas in GTA IV you're kinda limited to ground and helo transportation

I think that fleet Mechanic's truck is a cool Idea, I could be a second technical rescue unit, That is something I don't think is a primary focus for us, duplicating units right now that is, since FSD has been replaced by ConEd engineers for calls, and the repair function at the station Another thing that would be cool in the mod, would be a follow command for the Highway patrol units, so you could have a police chase, be no felony stop like in the LA mod. I think this was something that we plan on doing. It will not be felony stop like the game, but it will be a script that allows a chase of some sort Another is a firefighter must get an EMT bag from the Res1cue or Squad 61 before he can stabilize, but a FF w/ scott wouldn't have too. Umm... I don't understand the second bit, about scott, but the rest, it's something I think brings it to the point of too real. Considering what they do, which isn't much, check vitals, and stabilize for a bit, you don't even need a first aid kit for that, since vitals is all manual checks for basics, and stabilizing is only for like +60-70% health anyways, so you're not doing much in the way of a medical kit being needed. And finally is it possible for the Paramedics to carry injured persons while carrying his EMT bag? Thanks. It is nice to have some new American Units, That aren't from the LA mod, You have probably never tried this in real life, but a regular ALS bag, I'm just talking the basics, not the drug bag or defib (we have three bags here, plus O2) weighs about twenty pounds and isn't something easy to carry. To fireman carry a regular person while carrying that, it wouldn't be easy... Plus paramedics here need to be able to team lift 250-300 lbs and I'm gonna assume that's the same or there abouts for NY. If so, and you expect someone to fireman carry a person their size, probably 170 or so, it just isn't gonna happen

Main reason is becuase the american markets have no interest in those kinds of games, FPS is big in America now, so that's what sells. People tried emergency and it failed. No one has had the guts to put out a multimillion dollar campaign to get a game out like they do with COD and the like, so it hasn't had it's chance to bloom, but going on basics, I doubt it would -
We all have a little list of our tasks, Mike models, I do the odds and ends that make the game enjoyable, and Hoppah does the scripts that make the game different. I know I won't be adding the FSD to my list, and I doubt either of our other team members will be simply because we have much planned for the next version and for something that isn't essential and kinda dupes out current units, I don't really know if it'd be on our priority list. Honestly, will it ever be added? Eventually we'll probably add it, or something to that effect, but is it a priority as a new unit, no way

To Squad 55, and anyone else interested in reading. We were not going off topic, we were simply answering a question posed, and also providing our opinions on to what should be done for this site. I think that's very relavent. Considering you're not allowed to bump your topic, a little bit of chatter about the site in it shouldn't be objected against. In response to the comment about the revoked engines, what we said was that we don't want to use a model if another mod is using the same model for the same city, just with a different number on it. The author then chose to withdraw his permission from the model due to that and other reasons. We will be releasing more mod versions, so this isn't anything to do with the german new york mod. They do everything on their own, no outside models as far as I know.. And in regards to the not legally allowed to use it, techincally, since you didn't make it, and he isn't giving you permission, you can't use it, under intellectual property copy rights. And even if they aren't being enforced by law enforcement agencies, we do enforce those here, where if you use something you didn't make, it needs credit given and also permission given. Just figured I'd answer some questions
