  1. But remember, ease comes at a cost. A very high cost
  2. Ensure that you bring the SAR dog to this mission to find the hidden bodies
  3. I like the way that Mikey originally described its function to me in the early stages. It'll drown the fire, the victims, the building, and perhaps a few firefighters. That's why there's a boat and a diver in the mod
  4. This happens a lot if you play another mod first. If you load directly into the mod either from an icon or the base game, this shouldn't be an issue. And no, editting event frequency should not be an issue
  5. There's a couple models that don't move. I believe this has been fixed in a patch they're working on
  6. I can't speak for Mikey, but last time we talked about it, we're not looking to give you a trillion vehicles to choose from, but enough so that it feels like New York. And you're right to say that there are a lot of agencies in New York, but realistically, you need to look at functions in the game versus time to create. If the Tunnel and bridge police handle that area, is it really worth it, since there's about 3, SMALL areas where they could function? That's how we've been choosing. There's a good few vehicles in there for looks, of course, BUT not every vehicle could be included for the sole reason that we don't want a jumbo mod either
  7. So, at the bottom of this post, I'm gonna link a half dozen or more links on what you need to know, but get some pictures, as mayn as you can, for reference as well as straight on (90 degree angles) and work from there., Making the gates go up and down: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/45-creating-an-automatic-gate/ Adding the model to the game once it's built: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/1-emergency-4-adding-vehicles/ Modelling: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/4-zmodeler-2-3d-modeling/ UV Mapping: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/3-zmodeler-2-uv-mapping-texturing/ Using those pictures I told you to get: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/48-zmodeler2-import-blueprints/
  8. Although they may look the same, no two models are EVER the same. If I make something, you cannot ever make the same thing as me. You can make a similar one, but the probability of you making one exactly the same would be about 1 in 17 trillion. (million billion, yep that big) and the more complex a model, like a helo, the lower the chances. Mike's animations won't work on your model. All vehicles are custom built for this mod, so you may have similar looking ones elsewhere, but they are not the ones in this mod
  9. I could be wrong, but I`m pretty sure animations are model specific and the model in this mod is not the one in your mod
  10. This is what qualifies as clan problems. Go there and complain about them. I'm closing this topic and next time I see public whining about it, I'll be much meaner. Simply put, we don't care about other clan's drama. Basically, it's impossible to partake in a real clan fully to the extent that is expected and be a grown adult with a real job and social life, since they are generally children that want serious commitment to their games. You get what you go into.
  11. I'm gonna skip getting right up to this point, assuming you can place coronas and all that and just get right into it. So what you do, is click the radio button that says polygon next to it, click new polygon, and then click around the model. If you're looking to make a rectangle shape, then click four corners. When you want to resize, it's as simple as holding left mouse on the vertex and dragging it to where you want it. You can change the color similar to how you would do the radiation colors. Play around with it and it'll come easy in no time at all
  12. I'll give you a quick walkthrough, but if you look in our Tutorials section, it's much more detailed. Say for instance you want to reskin the lapd_cv model in the LA mod (a popular reskinned model), you would go into the mod folder, under the folder Models, and find the corresponding image file. This would be lapd_cv.dds or something similar. You'll need something that can open dds files, but then you should be able to skin it as desired. I won't get into the specifics on that, but when you're finished, save the file, and you're done. Reskin completed.
  13. http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/12-so-youve-decided-to-make-your-own-mod/
  14. You must've added them to the wrong area, or didn't add the correct coronas
  15. I wanna comment on the nuclear constabulary. They are peace officers not police, so they have limited powers within certain areas
  16. To answer your question, yes and no. In the US, it generally allows police officers with some exceptions to continue pursuit, etc. on duty or off duty outside of their regular jurisdictions. ie NYPD officers wouldn't stop on the bridge leaving the city if they were pursuing a murderer, because he left city limits, nor would LAPD say, welp, he's in the county now, so we can't touch him, drats. Your question seems to be more geared towards can an off duty officer arrest you, outside of their regular jurisdiction. The short answer is yes. However, that doesn't mean they're running ops in other jurisdictions, or whatever, it just means they can still arrest you. To operate within a different jurisdiction however, they are expected to receive approval from the department in charge. There's a lot of political reasons for this I won't bore you with, but essentially they can, and they very well may arrest you, but it's not common to see LAPD officers in San Francisco arresting people, because it's not their job down there.
  17. Clear your download cache, perhaps you may need to reboot your computer, and then try again. The file is fine from my end, so it's a userside problem, not server side.
  18. As WildcatsMike said, many mods still opt to use the e4mod format due to the filesize and compression, it allows for mods to be significantly smaller when downloaded, and easily installed, with no questions about where to put files.
  19. I have to agree, you need at least 600, but I'd recommend springing for 1000 or 1100 if you can. The extra power is worth it
  20. It may look empty, but based on real life photos of the same, it's spot on, with the exception of a ladder I've seen on some similar units, but light and decal wise, it's done fine.
  21. I'm thinking it's something to do with your video card. Wanna post your dxdiag? Go into editor (after setting graphics high in game) and look at people models, and if they're shiny, turn off alpha refelctions, and regular reflections, see if they're still glossy, and let me know that too when you put it up
  22. Hi guys, this topic seems to be one of those, so I'm going to go ahead and pop my head in here as a little warning. As per Section 12, TOS: Signatures shall not exceed a maximum height of 140px and a maximum width of 640. While these are under the limit it width, the height is significantly over. I'll be removing all signatures this week as I see them that are significantly over the limit, that means these 600px tall banners are gonna go. I can do MAYBE 200 or 250, but these are over 4x the maximum height. This topic is the first of many I'm sure that'll get a similar warning.
  23. When you crash, post your logfile. What were you doing when the game crashed? We need more info than we have right now
  24. I never said it wasn't, and realism is fine, to a point, but we need to remember, we're playing a game, not a simulator, and if you make it too clicky clicky, the game loses a LOT of the fun in it. If I have to try to fight six fires, with 3 firefighters, and I have to do fifteen different commands to get them all to put out one of the six fires, it gets absolutely insane, making me much more likely to click. The thing with modding is you have to find a comfortable place between fun and realism.
