NL Modification v2.0 released! Signal Torch screenshot!
Ropie58 replied to FrozenOne-94's topic in Mods
I am sure that this could very well go for a SixteenTons respond to our above mentioned issues: "Sure, you MODDERS can MOD OUR game as much as you want, because that's what we built it for in the first place! But don't expect us to keep your MODDING results into account as to have them keep on working with our updates. That would be YOUR problem..." Cheers!! Robert. -

I assume that this is a problem that more players may be bumping into. But, since I am only a player and NOT a MODDER, I won't be able to do what William is suggesting in his solution... I am sure that FrozenOne-94, reading these messages, will look into it and seek for a solution. Cheers!! Robert. -

I noticed it as well, a couple of days ago, but I thought it was just a glitch; I figured that "next time" everything would be normal again, but I never got to a "next time" since I didn't play the game since then... So now that more people are dealing with the same issue, I wonder what is going on here. Is any of you playing with a MOD here? If so, which MOD are you playing? Greetings, Robert. -

Oke, it's official now - you're now hooked, an example AND a promiss to "MODDING land" and its American MODDERS for EM5 as well. Great job !! What else is there left to say... (sigh) Keep in touch!! Cheers. Robert. -

Hey Bram, Exactly 15 minutes before going to work for my night shift I downloaded and installed the update. I only was capable in giving it a no more look than 5 minutes, but as always, I was stunned! It looks really great and very professional again. In the coming days I will play the update and I'm absolutely certain that your Dutch MOD will convince the EM4 players to have a serious look at your MOD in EM5 as well. Maybe they now will be convinced after all, that EM5 is perfectly suitable to be MODDED as well. If only they were willing to and provided they have the knowlegde to get the job done. I'm sure the making of an American Mod for EM5 would be their next goal, instead of hanging on to the also great MODS of EM4! Keep in touch!! Cheers!! Robert. -

I always hoped you would return some day to the forum and even find the urge to continue with your Dutch MOD again. After all, you were doing very good with your Dutch "mission". Be advised however: I am NOT saying here, that you should leave your plans for making an American MOD for just what they are; on the contrary... Now that you did return, and also with an update of your Dutch MOD, I am NOT giving you a NEW suggestion, as you stated you would not respond to those anymore. I AM giving you a small reminder though of a suggustion I made on the forum at the time, http://forum.emergency-planet.com/topic/20158-just-an-idea-for-making-a-new-mod/,to wich you responded positively. I don't think you've already come to that, otherwise it surely would have been mentioned in your listed updates. I do hope however, you would still consider this suggestion as one of your upcoming assignments. Looking forward to your reply. Cheers!! Robert. -

Glad you're back! You'll know where to find me and I sincerely hope you will. Other than that, I'll respect your privacy of course!! Cheers!! Robert. -
So, it all comes down to the MODDERS who'll have just have faith, the will AND the knowlegde in making this game better. And as to the worthless, disappointing and respectless attitude that SixteenTons is showing towards its (non German?) customers over this period, I just keep being hopefull in a positive change - but most probably against better knowing... Cheers!! Robert, Netherlands

Hi Bill, Maybe someone will answer our prayers and is EM5 not "that much dead" as it seems. After all, SixteenTons recently released some patches for the game (1.4.0 and 1.4.1) in a two days period, and they also refreshed their web site; that is - they took away their advertisement for their symposium they had in August in Frankfurt I believe (https://www.world-of-emergency.com/). So I do have a silent hope that EM5 is still "under construction" and hopefully for the best... Keep in touch! Cheers!! Robert, Netherlands

It's what I already assumed that this had happened. I also think, it would have shown some decency if he would have posted an announcement up front, rather than just removing the project and leave us just like that, forgetting all about the promisses he made to help the MODDERS who came to him with their questions. I thought I "knew" the guy (even defending him on our forum at some point...) It's a pretty disappointing and completely unexpected action he just performed. Go figure... Anyway, thank you for your reply. Cheers!! Robert, Netherlands

Well, for one thing, I really was convinced that FrozenOne-94 had it all. He made a well working "Dutch MOD", which unfortunately he decided to stop with, in order to get started with the so-called "Las Vegas" MOD. I got to know him as a very enthousiatic and devoted MODDER, having great plans for his "Las Vegas" MOD to be build. Now, for some reason I really don't understand, he got of the grid. I cannot seem to get in touch with him (through e-mail) anymore; that is - I do not receive any reply... The last e-mail I received from him was on June 14, 2015. I sent him several e-mails afterwards and even tried to get in touch with him trough Facebook, but no reply whatsoever! Just a couple of days ago, I found that his "Las Vegas" topic had been removed from the forum as well. I don't know however, if a topic removal is always done by the site moderator or by the topic owner himself. Should the topic has been removed by the owner himself, then maybe we should assume that Frozenone-94 is not interested in the game and/or MODDING anymore. Should the topic has been removed by the moderator, then I really would like to know the reason for this action... Although, being very disappointed about the present situation... As always, Cheers!! Robert, Netherlands.

Hi Guys, Has anyone heard of FrozenOne-94 again since the beginning of his Q&A Session on June 11? In this Q&A Session, on Junie 15, he posted the following: "Thanks to all of you for input. I'll start working on your requests and will post a 'getting started' topic in a few days" I never saw this topic appear on the forum but, then again, it could very well be that he answered all of your questions in a private mail... Still, it strikes me that "it's all quiet at the western front", so maybe he's working "low profile" just to get things on the road. I mailed him a couple of times since June 14 in private messages, but I never received any reply - and that is SO not like him - getting to know him as a very sympathatic guy and a even more enthousiastic MODDER. I even am starting to get a little bit worried now; if not for the future development of the MOD, then surely for his personal circomstances... So, if any of you knows anything, please let us know... Cheers!! Robert. -
Hi Leandro, I hope everyting is going according to plan building your EM5 hardcore version. Since you're in the so-called "adjusting mood" at the moment , I would like to make a remark/suggestion to you which I already made earlier on the forum to the MODDERS in general on March 13, this year: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/topic/20158-just-an-idea-for-making-a-new-mod/. I am asking you now specially, since you are planning on giving us a hardtime in your new MOD, and repeating my suggestion below, would give the player a better chance in fighting fires: When the fire tender is using its extinguisher that is mounted on its roof, you'll notice that, when pointing out another fire with your mouse, the water canon is automatically turning towards the fire without letting the fire tender changing its position, provided the fire to be extinguished, is in its reach. The turntable ladder should actually do the same thing (at least in real life that is): turning its water canon on the ladder towards the fire source once pointed out to. However, for each different fire you point out, other then the one that is being extinguished with its water canon at that very moment, the turntable ladder lowers its ladder and the fire engine is to be repositioned completely, rising its ladder again and then continuing putting out the fire. It's not realistic AND it's losing time putting out a fire. Maybe you could also look into this problem while adjusting your MOD: to let the turntable ladder, just like the fire tender, putting out fires pointed to (provided the fires to be extinguisjed, are in its reach), without the need to be repositioning itself all the time. I know that FrozenOne-94 was willing to take a look at my sugguestion at the time, while building his Dutch MOD, but since the building of this MOD (so sadly and unfortunately ) came to an end, I think my suggestion was never worked out anymore - at least not for the Dutch MOD that is. Maybe that my suggestion will be taken care of in the build of his coming Las Vegas-release, but that I really don't know. Besides, it might still take some time before the LV-MOD will see its daylight... Well then, all this for what it's worth... I'll hope to hear from you soon. Cheers!! Robert.
-
Oké, No problem here...
-
Just a small tip: When this MOD should see the daylight, please make sure that your own "Unlimited Untis MOD" is build in, or have people strongly advised to download (http://forum.emergency-planet.com/topic/19896-unlimited-units-mod/) and install this MOD as well. Otherwise the player wouldn't stand a change to survive your hardcore version, considering the default limited number of vehecles EM5 is providing you in the game. For what it's worth... Cheers!! Robert.
-
Oké then, let's hear it...
-
Will this work together with other already installed mods or only with the "basic" EM5 game?

If so, then why not wait untill FrozenOne-94 has the MOD up and running? For then, he would be able to help you guys out and bring in your own ideas and projects to make it work inside the in near future WORKING Las Vegas-MOD. He promissed you all to do so in his response on June 4: "I could look into making a tutorial but this would be after the USA Mod is coming along nicely and is up and running. I stopped working on the Dutch Modification so I can focus all my available free time on creating this mod so for now I'm not taking on any side projects. That being said I promiss to help everyone out once I made progress with this modification" :-) I don't know how Hoppah worked at the time with the fabrication of his LA-MOD inside EM4 (and If I'm wrong, please correct me!), but I can imagine that (although he might have stood open for suggestions) he made sure that the LA-MOD was HIS "baby" and stayed that way. And, fortunately, we all let him and waited every time patiently for his next "LA-MOD" version to come out... So, why not doing it here as well? Like I said, I am only a player, but I am convinced it will all work out fine and the MODDERS can all have their input in future with this upcoming MOD. For what its worth: inside the Dutch Mod that FrozenOne-94 had created, I had the "Unlimited Units MOD" (fabricated by "Leandro") installed as well. It worked like a charm... Cheers!! Robert. -

Come on guys! I am a bit confused here!! I thought we were all on the same page here on this forum. Didn't we ALL cry for the making of a new LA-MOD at the coming out of EM5?? Didn't we all wait for the one person who would make a working MOD for EM5 in a way Hoppah did at the time in EM4?? At least, I was one of them... I've told this before on the forum, and I am not ashamed to repeat myself, but I don't know anything about MODDING myself; I'm just "a simple player". I've played the Dutch MOD during its developing period. I was happy and impressed the way it was going. I was sad to learn that that there was put a stop on the development of this MOD but, as I wrote before, (...) "to me it 's a comforting thought to know that FrozenOne-94 is joining the camp of American MOD makers, being familiar with the Dutch MOD he created". Have you, by the way, played this MOD any time at all? I can't help the feeling that you both are attacking the guy who is really trying to make an effort to make a working American MOD for EM5. I haven't seen YOU guys doing anything for that matter. It's always easy to critizise while staying on the side line. Maybe you're feeling frustrated that you're not succeeding so far yourselves, if you ARE trying at all, or you're just being impatient for still missing a working American MOD like Hoppah created in EM4... As far as I got to know FrozenOne-94, he is enthousiastic enough to pull the job. Remarks like you just made, are not helping him at all. Please note: he is doing this for a hobby and he is very much willing to share his plans, suggestions, efforts and results on the forum with us on a voluntary basis. He is NOT getting payed for this! I, for one, wouldn't want to be in his shoes... So, please show some patience, give the guy some credit, cut him some slack - he really should deserve it. That being said, no hard feelings! Let's get our noses straight and keep it civilized here! Cheers!! Robert.Netherlands
