Unless Hoppahs ambulance is ungodly unique and is UV mapped with the headlights on the body, I'd say a new front clip for the model because they are two different shaped front ends.

Game Engine limits, if you look at most of the "huge" textures you'll find they are rather bland in level of detail the game's compression just doesnt destroy them as badly as it does smaller, 1024 is a good number, worst case if you're really looking for high Level of detail writing just use writing plates, they add a few polygons and another texture sheet without wasting all the space for the 3000+ sized ones.

That along with my lego tank for enforcing deadbeats who failed to pay for their services rendered;)

I miss building my lego brothel, ahh to be young again.

NYC Unmarked Taxi If I remember correctly most these things belong to the TLC Taxi and Limo Commission, go after them for things related to people transport like not running the meter, expired certifications and what not... I think they do other work when required, but generally they were meant to hunt down Cabs, Limos, and Sedans that roam the city... IF I remember correctly but it was years ago since I bothered to look into them.

There are grey areas, such as a team of individuals, in such cases we leave it to the author(s) to decide what to do with it, however as a general rule of respect all author(s) that actually did the majority of the work should be credited always. Because you reskinned a vehicle does not entitle you to "rights" over it for example. In the end the original author who did the mesh and model would get ownership.. In the case of say one guy built the model and the other did the skin(UV map) it would be wise to contact both as both were responsible for the vehicle being completed.. When in doubt, ask about it. Though mod teams, and sub-mod creators should do their homework to figure out who built what and attempt to track them down instead of assuming that a "mod team" was responsible for the creation of everything... There are readmes included with mods for a reason, take the 5 mins to scan them to see who might have done what to figure out who actually owns it. With the mod team I still suggest strongly that you credit the individuals that create the works that make your mod possible, even though you might be the leader in the end the other guys are the ones that made it possible... But if the author(s) of the models/objects/scripts does not care, I can't enforce it.. Though I feel everyone deserves recognition for their efforts if it was actually something that took some effort to do.

Those lil errors where the model has holes will in fact show up in the game, so you really have to close em off unless you want people to "see through" the model.

LA County Fire Site Direct from the County FD's Site, they are both used but the Firehawk could be refitted from the Blackhawk, hence why I suggested it rather than trying to do another helicopter. In the end both LA and LA CO are present in the mod, so I figure why waste the time making a new helo just for one unit that can already be done with a simple refit.
-
I already told hoop he could do the firehawk, which is an easy conversion job, but they use that for medivac ops..

when it comes to detail parts just float them unattatched from the actual "core" body wireframe to save the polygons... The game won't really notice the fact they are unattatched so long as you sink them into the solid object a bit... EM3/4 doesnt handling things like games most people come from to mod it... EM3/4 are much easier about how you have to create things so go ahead and save the polygons for something else you might wanna do rather than wasting them on a part that could otherwise be done in 5-6 flat polys.

Your Axis to the model is too high up is what he means... the "pivot" for the vehicle should be at ground level (IE where the tires will touch the ground if on the body) if the pivot is in the middle of the vehicle or roof, usually you get a vehicle that sinks into the ground as this game uses the pivot to decide the lowest point of the vehicle.

I can't just "add" posts in for you, if you looked at the original post dates on Tut's posts you will see they are added over the course of several weeks... I just removed all the posts in between of them and bunched them together... The ny mod was an easy case as there was only one "lead" modder who took care of most of their updates, so it made it really easy to push his posts together, having more than one "lead" modder makes that a really difficult thing to do as the split on posts would in no way be guarenteed to be what you want them to be.
-
I did that to the First page of the NY mod topic, I just deleted the junk between his posts and gave him the whole front page.

As with most police departments, they have a mixed air wing. LASD Does have a Larger Search and Rescue helicopter, however I believe they use this one more for police-related support operations while the larger Sea-King based helicopter is used more for SAR ops. MikesPhotos would know better.
-
Their source images were underneath the helicopters, so yeah they are all used by the three agencies in question.. The models are the same so the only thing that changed between them is the skin on them. The LAPD is in the new scheme they just adopted apparently not too long ago, we found a picture of the "old" scheme but it was still the same aircraft type.. If not for the total redundancy it might have been done as well, but in reality three is enough.

Delays were not my problem with them, every flight with southwest that I had the unlucky experience with, had something go wrong with the plane almost crashing... Though the plane usually arrived at least on time, if not early... So at least had they totally screwed up I would've been early to my death=) They were really good in every other way but apparently I pulled really bad or overtired/overstressed pilots who just made a few too many mistakes... It's sad when the guy who's a passenger knows we're way too low and the pilots don't notice until the collision lights of the building finally are visible

Southwest Airlines BWI-Charlotte-Orlando Duct tape on the wing, overshot the runway in Charlotte and almost got nailed by an American plane... Need I say more? Same Airline on the return trip to DC, almost landed on top of a building inbound in the rain... So yeah I can't say I love Southwest.

Unfortunately this game largely attracts males and this forum is about the EM series, so for the most part women and this game are not too common, so I will admit I am shocked there is even one female member here... But you are here so I say welcome to you, glad you enjoy the game, and enjoy the forums here.. Unfortunately though if you look through the members list you will find that there are not that many females (to my knowledge you are the first one that I've seen). Some of the topics are geared towards males (and if you find them offensive you may report them and we will deal with them), but for the most part the site tries to be gender-neutral. Just join into conversations with people and you might be surprised at how friendly people here are if you contribute knowledge that is of any quality of substance. People of all nationalities, languages, races and genders are welcome here and will always be welcome here, just join in on some of the conversations and perhaps people will get to know you better=)

I fixed all the links on the first topic to match this one now, Tut you might want to double check me on them but I believe that's how you had them in the other topic.

Perhaps a better idea is to actually explain which model from what mod you are trying to open in order to get assistance, some modifications deliberately lock the models, while other are not capable of being opened due to other reasons.

It should be as easy as changing out the ALS information in the Firestation scripts with the prototype of your new ambulance. const char OBJ_AMBULANCE02[] = "mod:Prototypes/Vehicles/01 LA Ambulance/ambulance02.e4p"; Simply rename the e4p to match the e4p name of your new ambulance in both the LA FireStation.script and LAFireStationStart.scripts... As long as the vehicles are otherwise identical it should work fine... Then in the editor you have to add the commands that are on the original Ambulance02 to your new one in order for the ambulance to find it's way to the fire station.

I attempted to clean the old one and just split this topic off from the original one, so perhaps just perhaps we can stay on the topic of the mod, there is no need to comment on the fact they have a "new" topic here... I think that's pretty obvious, instead let's try to keep on the topic of the modification and save myself and my fellow moderators the trouble of having to dump/merge posts that really are not related to the mod. Enjoy the mod development process and ask questions related to the mod or to their updates is fine but I don't think Tut really needs suggestions quite yet, allow them to finish version one then maybe they can use some suggestions then(this is not directed at anyone in the new topic yet just a statement for anyone who might come to their new topic). Have fun and respect one another in the topic and hopefully Tut will find the time to keep everyone current on what they're up to.

Check your own "source" there bud, it states nothing of any Surface to Air or Air to Air varients... The tomahawk is only for surface based targets.
-
Look at the "source" of the information... Or rather lack thereof... Who's to say what really was going on and what took place in anything provided on that site? Information is only as good as the sources that provide it... Hiding the identities of those providing it makes for very easy going to deliberately mislead people with information that is but a shade of grey. If you love national inquirer then Wikileaks is for you, if you like substanative information that can be independently verified outside of "an unamed source" I'd move on elsewhere. Quoted from the site: The U.S. Intelligence agencies play wargames, it does not mean that they are necessarilly going to follow through with them because you find a report that shows detailed information on how they would theoretically do something if they wanted to. In my eyes this "report" they did is a prime example of why independent verification is so crucial.

This is now the NY Mod's Topic the old one will no longer be updated, so look and post here for updates, this should allow new and old users to see what the modification is about and what they are currently up to without all the clutter of the old topic.
