Is it the LA mod dds files you cannot open?
-
LA mod should be the only ones giving you problems, those files must be renamed and unpacked in the editor before they can be converted using a converter.
-
Simplest way... Copy Alpha layer to a new file, REMOVE the alpha from the file you intend to modify, then put it back when done, the alpha layer is being enabled visible when you don't want to or care to see it. I don't know your paint apps but mine the alpha must be enabled for me to see it, by default it is not visible.
-
You need a DDS converter or a program that can read them.

As stated above, either the Fire engine in question is not permitted to have your personnel in it.. So when they try to re-enter the vehicle they are not allowed to do so. Verify they are correctly in the UNIT.XML for the vehicle that the space vacancies are available, if they are... Then verify the type of vehicle which the fire engine is (group and type) are correct for the FF to use it completely.

Load both models in Zmod Select the Nicco Vic objects (Stay in obj mode) Depress space bar or press "selected mode" at the bottom, either manually (which is a dangerous way to do it because proportions of the two models do not match what so ever) Or alternatively, use the CTRL button depressed + scale and you will get a pop-up with % for each AXIS XYZ... Simply pick ONE scaling point which you wish to meet, IE height or width, and ensure you move ALL others the same scale difference X 80 Y 80 Z 80... X=Width Y=Height Z=Length I suggest you use width or height as your scaling reference to attempt to make them similar, if you attempt to match the LA mod orig vic 1/1 the scaling proportions of the Nicco vic will be lost, very rarely are two models 1/1 Identical in scaling proportions, so go with which scale matters most to you. Just make sure their "centerlines" are roughly even so that when you hit the right scale the two cars should look fairly close to being one model. If you make a boo boo and go too far on a scale change, you can either push it back up or my prefered method CTRL+Z and reattempt from 100%

Notice to clans (this means you) IF he wanted to join your clan he would have simply went to your topic, he wants to do his own avenue and has a right to pursue this without advertisements to OTHER avenues presented in his topic. Failure to read an announcement does not negate it's validity.

The vehicle was modified by someone, IE note the wheels on it, that person MUST be credited.... IT was revamped by someone else first. That is why it requires proper credits.

Realistically DHS does roam the airfields, but every single one of em that I have seen were "ground vehicles" that were totally unmarked, in most cases they don't even have government tags on them, unless you look in the window you'd never know... So I can't see where a purpose for them would come into play really. Last one I saw was a Jeep Commander with State tags not gov, and it definately was not lit up for emergency response.

The way i do it so that I don't accidentally do this, is to use the multiple export feature of zmod, simply hit the drop down next to the export button and pick multi export... Every obj in the Zmod file will be dumped appropriately named V3Os.

Abusive bumping, so Your topic will be locked till you're allowed to bump again... Next time read the announcement.

Wrong place to post the topic, Caps in the Title of it=No No as well... I will leave the topic open since maybe someone will want to make fanbanners, but that's up to them.

You MUST Credit the original Author(s) of the vehicle Simply putting EM3 Import is inadequate.

Barricade tape instead of the metal barricades?
MikeyPI replied to heyjoojoo's topic in Los Angeles Mod
it is not that hard, create a new model of tape deployed between two posts and have that sat down instead of the barricade... It would work under much the same principle. -
changing lightbars/lights on vehicles
MikeyPI replied to rachammer's topic in Modding Related Support
You have to have Zmod, be relatively competent with it, what you do is import the car that has the lightbar you want to use.. Along with the car you want to put it on, in vertice mode select the verts to the lightbar that you don't want to be there (ensure you get all it's vertices, then with selected mode enabled press the delete key... Next, select the other vehicle model, selecting all the vertices to it's body instead of lightbar, deleting all of them again... Now one of two methods, simply unite the two parts if they are the same scale and what not is the easiest, the uniting tool in zmod is fairly easy to use click from one model to the other and they will be fused... Once this is done the lightbar will be part of that vehicle, export it as it is and the skin for the lightbar will STILL reference the other model's skin, which does not pose a problem if they are the same. If they are different then you have to UV remap the bar to the first one's skin and change the texture on the texture file. -
Quotes full self for ya.. So no, what was being discussed was give us more info/post updates which was already asked and answered by the mod makers.. so No next time try not to be "selective" in what you quote, it is pointless. Be less active if you so desire but don't use such weak excuses to justify it. Elas, Back onto the topic of the mod which you so rudely have disrupted trying to take a jab=)

it was probrably part of the debugging process for the game and they just never removed the reference from the shortcut doc.
-
Lower your resolution your GPU probrably can't handle it with this particular game.
-
Chances are it's from Georgia State or Florida State by the lighting on it... I have not a clue what county or city it is from though.
-
My best guess they intend to go the route so many companies do opposed to makeing their game modable, expansion packs every couple of months to try to milk some more outta people... Sadly for them I doubt their sales reach anything near high enough to justify the expense or effort to do expansion packs.

Run the editor as an administrator, otherwise it can't save to the Program Files directory thanks to UAC. The car issues appear to be result of using the existing LAMOD prototypes, and not bothering to adjust the children, some of the LA mod doors are positioned "open" in the model so they must be fitted correctly to the body. The doors and what not are there but are placed differently Axis wise than the prototype's original model placed them.

Looks to me like your normals were not calculated on that triangle correctly, making it significantly lighter than the rest of the vehicle, if you note at the bottom you can barely see what you UV mapped just extremely brighter. Ensure the triangle is attatched to the surrounding ones.

*plays the violin. I somehow doubt they would put in all the effort they have to abandon it, I smell someone being a bit overdramatic... They'll update when they feel they want to, it has been the ROUTINE for this mod topic to be updated sporadically, so it is nothing new, and given you know the holiday seasons are upcomming a wee bit of understanding in that regard goes a long way=)

I'm sorry but the Vic is aged to dirt, it is sad that my car which was built in 2000 STILL exceed the police "interceptor" in every way possible... The modern list of cars that can exceed the speed and maneuverability of the vic has gotten to be too great at this time to just ignore it. The sad truth is the police market has taken a downhill fall since competition died in 1996 with the end of the caprice, and unfortunately everyone that has re-entered the race has the "legacy" of a mediocre car to compete with, the primary reason OFFICERS like the thing is because it's RWD where so many other entries are not. I've had the joy of playing the rabbit on simulated chases with the vics, I've beat them in high performance cars, I've beat them in 105HP K cars.... The vic just was not that great it just lacked proper competition to show it's many issues.. The thing doesnt turn spectacularly, it definately is NOT fast in top end, acceleration it's decent, braking leaves something to be desired... For it being called "Interceptor" every time they got matched against me they failed miserably.
