Everyone wants a new game with their ideas for mods, this game is older and you can only do so much without going the NY mod method and making "endless" mission based freeplay, which does permit you to change the maps and things like that... but outside of that the "original" freeplay is pretty well locked in how you can proceed with it unfortunately. I don't think that the system the NY mod uses will be able to be ported over to multiplayer because of latency related bugs so there's another hitch in the concept... Love it or leave it, modifications are just addons to the original system so where the original system fell short unless you make a new game you're stuck in the confines of it... Making freeplay based missions allows you to do more, but you can't do co-op missions in MP.

Constructive critisism has it's place I find it funny how people on this site would rather have someone blow sunshine up their backside rather than listen to the critisisms and accept that sometimes they are trying to help you improve what you've done as opposed to just giving you a big thumbs up on something that could be improved... I always have my work(s) critiqued before I call them "completed" by other people whom didnt take the time to create them to verify they are accurate as they can be done before I call them complete... Perhaps just perhaps others could learn to accept the critism better on this site instead of figuring I KNOW you can't do this, so your opinion does not count, sometimes a fresh pair of eyes viewing what you've done is indeed beneficial and worthwhile to listen to... Just my two cents, but that's me.

If it can dump to 3DS format it may work, however realize that zmod does have some compatibility issues with some applications so Z2 is in reality for this game the best option on the cheap that can do the models.... You require the export plugin for V3O and unfortunately zmod2 is the only one that has it, so you'll have to learn to use zmod2 a bit anyway. Some apps lose the UV map in the 3DS to V3O format shift so you might end up HAVING to use zmod2 anyway to "fix" the model that you made in a different program (some instances it is more than just a UV map loss this'll vary by applications), for myself it's not horribly painful with the app that I use instead of Z2, but still it's easier to avoid it if you're "new" to it and just use Z2 under most circumstances.

If only that were true.... Odds are tall people get away with illegal activity, hence crime exists, if every drunk driver got caught then people would not drink and drive, but most get away with it so people continue to do it... Add in most places the penalty in the US isnt overly severe for a DUI (without any accident anyway) most DUI drivers are repeat offenders.

Squads are apparently more diverse in what they are equipped to handle, they can do more varying tasks an engine is more designated for fighting fires only, not hazmat, or all the other things... But i'm not 100% on that one.

This game isnt the sims keeping morale up would make me shoot my FFs and call in fresh units.

You said you already added the model files, from what I understand you've taken them from an LA submod, so it should already be setup to replace the existing LA vehicle, if the prototype is the correct one IE ambulance01.e4p then you just need to ensure that all the model/skin files and prototype files for the ambo are copied over to the original la mod where you want to port it to..... IF it is a different prototype than the one you've decided to replace it with (IE ambulance02.e4p) you're going to have to edit the existing prototype by adding the model parts to the vehicle in the edit childs tab of the prototype thing in the editor, or alternatively change alot of scripts to replace it... Since it came from a submod it should already replace an existing ambo, hopefully the one that you want to replace in the first place.... If it doesnt and it's another vehicle proto than the one you intended to replace, you're probrably going to do best to just update the existing protos and re-add the doors and wheels yourself to the existing prototype. -

I am aware of this, but that is why nothing aligns, the prototypes are what setup the vehicle's in-game appearance since every model part (tire body doors) is its own part you must use the game's editor to place them right... Imo, rename the protos to the vehicle that you want to plug into the la mod and copy/paste those protos in, its alot easier than the alternative of having to redo the protos for every door, wheel, body, and then aligning the childs. -

You should have just copied the prototype of the original vehicle that you wanted to add into the mod... you are trying to swap the model into the existing prototype, so all of the childs to it (the doors) and wheels will still reflect the original vehicle unless you go through and change them as well. -
I think mine is pretty nice considering that it is a friggin 2-3 year old notebook now =) It runs what I need granted the 4 gigs of ram is a pain but I can always up that but why would I want to? Ya'll have desktops I just have my poor lil notebook that I use to play GTA4 and it can so I can't complain about that, till it overheats anyway

They appear to be the same "essential" computer except the other one has more ram... I'd get the other one if you want to mod GTA4 because it'll benefit from it, it is 64X compatible, EM4 isnt, i dont think GTASA is either... A game can only use as much mem as the programing permits, most games arent 64X which means they top out below 3 gigs for the most part, you can tamper with this and make them do so (I've done this with older games that had problems) but it's much easier if the game supports X64 instead of the old 32 bit system... Fair warning if you play older games than those listed some might become incompatible because X64 won't let them install because it isnt compatible with the OS. You get two program files one for old software and one for 64 enabled and that seems to upset some apps/games.... Don't ask me why it just does but I've only ran into it about 5 times on my comp.

It's reasonable for an "unknown" company idk anything about that company i'd look up the model online see if it has reliability issues or quality issues, otherwise its a decent deal.

They shouldnt experience lag, the EM4/ GTA SA should run fine, GTAIV you might have to adjust your settings down a bit from MAX but the game really is overkill on what it needs, i'm guessing you'd run lag-free (SP) on all three games with very good settings for the graphics on them... Remember online lag is caused more by latency between users playing the game, a user can have a killer machine but get royally screwed because their connection sucks. Use common sense guys, you realize how big the WTC complex was? it'd eat up the majority of the map regardless to what they might theoretically make it (personally I would make a parking garage but that's me), not unlike doing the empire state building or any other major skyscraper, hell even the white house is the map, em4 maps are not that big..

The texture that is supposed to be asssociated with the model is missing, either open the model in zmod and reassociate the texture to it, or alternatively open the v3o with notepad and manually write it in SRF, Body, 0, 0, 0, engine02_1.png, 517, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 SRF, Body2, 0, 0, 0, engine02_2.png, 517, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 you need to change the engine02_1.png to match the dds that you want it to be associated with. -
Dell XPS M1530 Notebook: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.1GHz 4 gig ram Vista 64 OS Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT I'd love to get a new one since this one is showing it's war wounds but sadly the new dells look far too crappy in construction and I don't really like any of the other notebooks I've seen... Guess I'll go till she dies then find a new one=(

Advanced as this mod is I'd hope they didnt put in the time to have you actually have to goto a specific "bay" on the engine to retrieve the proper line diameter, in the end it is still a mod for EM4 not a simulator game that was built... Far as I know they did include different lines but I'd hope they didnt waste the time putting in retrieval for the lines from a specific bay on the engine, 1 you'd never really see it without a camhack and 2. the time put into doing that is better served elsewhere in my opinion.

My best guess is instead of it still being .dds you've inadvertently saved your skin as .psd or whatever your app is, I sometimes forget and when I save things it tries to save them in the app's format instead of the proper format for the game/editing apps to read them. As NFK said if you change the name of the material it's self the model will no longer associate it, but it also works for extensions as well it MUST remain the same format/name.... Unless you want to go into advanced editing and manually change this either in Zmod or in notepad to make the texture's new format/name linked to the model.

Go into the specs folder of the mod in question and edit the following docs: Remove the vehicle's folder from the mod location and it will no longer be available for campaign nor freeplay what so ever. Ensure you are doing this in the MODIFICATION folder not in the original game because if you do it in the orig game you will wipe the thing from being usable in the default game.

Is it possible to import existing model into Zmodeler?

You have to unpack an existing one (the V3O) and the dds texture, look for the reskinning topic in the LA category, you have to physically remove the bar from the model that you want to edit along with merge the bar you want to use, you'll need that vehicle as well... Load both of them in Zmod in vertice mode remove the bar from the one you want to pull the bar off of... Next, the other model that you imported that has the lightbar on it remove the body leaving only the lightbar as that object. Then in object mode click "modify>Attatch" from the menu and left click on the lightbar, then an arrow w/ a line will appear click on the body model... This will link the lightbar to the model... Export the model and you're done. -
We do not offer technical support to illegal copies of the game, add in that you gave the link to the torrent that you downloaded it from your warning level increased... The fact that you can view the site that had your torrent on it tells me you could probrably LEGALLY buy it from one of the many retailers that run online direct to drive downloads for the game...

It'd be wise to at least tell people what you want them to make opposed to asking for help but not elaborating on what it is you wish people to help on... Models vary massively, so something relatively easy could be no problem but something more elaborate like a totally new vehicle can take time... It'll increase your odds of help and waste less of your time and potential modeler's if you elaborated on what exactly it is you're looking for from them.
