Unless Hooper fixed it in a later version I found the Wye to be fairly buggy I'd place the sob and it wouldnt go away.... Hard to connect to and disconnect... If that was resolved I might add it even though it serves limited purpose in urban areas.... If it's the same as what I remembah of it, then I sure as hell don't want it because that thing made me mad on more than one occasion.... The standpipe concept is possible, it just requires creativity in placement of the thing so the FF isnt "trapped" in the floor, chances are the hose will go through walls though which is why in the original game it was not permitted to exist, they couldnt find a way to dynamically make the hoses go around objects... just like the furrengines.

I'm kind of a meanie when it comes to pretty pictures... Some things I'd rather hold off showing since they can always end up changing or omitted and I'd rather not share all those aspects until we know it's going to work and stay in the mod... Some features meant for V1.0 had to be removed due to the sheer random bugs they created, rather than set hopes and then have to turn around and say no... We try to keep everyone up to date without building hope on a function/feature that might end up having to either be removed entirely or put off for a later version... We try our best in that regards so we kinda keep alotta details closer to the vest... On the till for the next true version update (not just the patch) is to try to make the Tower ladder work correctly, some new helicopters to replace the generic ones that were tossed in there just to hold their places, a new map, and a few new features to start... Once all that is done we'll see what else we might want to do but that's the agenda for the next real version.

The next update will be a patch to resolve all the known issues that have been encountered and to put in a few features we just forgot to put into it that were supposed to be there, unfortunately one update to the mod is giving a fit so we're trying to resolve that one currently. There are only two issues left outstanding until the patch is complete, then it will be released once those things are done and verified.

The mod was started about 1.5 years ago give or take a month... I had to go away for work so production stopped for a time in the middle there... In reality around 9-11 months went into the project as it stands now... Most of it spent making all the models that had to be made to make the NYC feel.

They will stay american most likely the only option outside of america ever attempted was london, from my understanding that "adaptation" of GTA1 wasnt very popular so I doubt they'll attempt it again considering that a new london based game would cost significantly more than what they did for the GTA london adaptation from GTA1..... I'm expecting Miami again for the next one or alternatively they might pick a new locale like chicago to do, problem is chicago would look and feel much the same to the NYC they already have done for their GTA4 game.... Just have diff chars and a few notable diffs in the city layout, so I'm betting if they did another it'd be Miami up next. They could do the LA one again since it was immensely popular but I'm figuring miami will be up next since they tend to increase things in the series slowly, not just a total rework... Increasing what the game does will probrably come from miami, then the LA version... Remember we have no clue how much time/energy they put into developing the games... they can do the voice acting well in advance for a storyline they may or may not produce... GTA is notorious for hiring a-listers to do their voice acting... They are harder to land and even harder to keep to a strict deadline.

Chicago is a possibility for a GTA based game... we'll see though I'm guessing they'll rehash miami again.

True the northeast presents a totally different dynamic of fire fighting strategy, in a mission this can be very easy to target, in the original freeplay, sadly not... The mission aspect of the game the sky is the limit, in freeplay (original) you've gotta work with what the game gives ya, which tbh really sucks in options... Fires spread in this game pretty good if you set up the objects right... problem is not everyone has a GTAIV capable computer and the engine this game is based on does have a bleed in it's memory so eventually it will fail... So you have to compromise on it when it comes to this game... No "for profit" game of any real accuracy or desire will ever be developed, to be totally honest the emergency first response community is not ungodly big to begin with when compared to the total world population, let alone how many may play games... so your target market is too small to gamble on a huge investment which would be necessary to successfully replicate it within a reasonable budget per unit cost for the end-product... Sadly, hope modders have the same feelings you do because that's your best shot at what you have in mind...=/ Psst... People hate my mod.. So I doubt you'll see many sub-mods based on it because mine is designed to challenge/annoy the hell out of you, where the LA mod high on crack I can play endlessly till I blackout.... Most people apparently want that type of gameplay, where I didnt... so yeah I aint expecting too many to wanna base submods on my mod=) It'll make all the crackheads of EMP have to slow down on toking the pipe and actually have to click on things and do things, which just doesnt work for a drunk or a crackead=/ Oh well what can ya do?

We do indeed intend to do missions down the road, right now we want to fill out Freeplay and hopefully make a supported MP system along with deluxue for the next version.. I wanted to let everyone have a new toy to suffer with err imean play with *acts innocent* .... So I released it earlier than I'd have liked, so some features were omitted, so we'll have to retry them for V2... The tower ladder, new helicopters, some new scripts are all scheduled for the next version along with a new map that is more or less a "sample" of an area of NYC that isnt totally high-rises... Unfortunately high rises don't work in this game lest ye enjoy seeing helos fly though them and cameras smash into them.=-( So we gotta work around that on this one, hopefully our "sampler" while not to scale will be sufficient to give the feel of nyc... Figure add in some more merican crappy cars err imean traffic cars *whistles innocently* and it'll make a nice V2.... Later version(s) we'll focus on missions but what we have ahead of us are more complex items that working in the original freeplay framework probrably should not work..... So unfortunately tinkering with them and finding ways around the issues are the priority, not just adding more toys that serve much the same purpose=) Hopefully everyone understands the direction we're trying with this mod, fun, but also useful toys... not just something because it can be done, but something that might actually make handling a mission/freeplay mission more effective, we're going to try to see if we can make em all work... Time will tell but that's the agenda of the mod at this time;) EDIT: For those who've contacted me or wish to do a sub-mod based on this system... Please refrain until the V1.0 patch is released for this mod before you attempt to tamper with it, otherwise you'll just be wasting your time, the number of things we've changed/corrected are so great that it's a total waste of your time and energy to tamper with the 1.0 Initial release... Wait for the patched version before you attempt to tamper with it please. The patch for 1.0 is nearly completed adding features and reworking some existing ones has unfortunately delayed the release of it but hopefully people will be happier with the alterations done to the mod that make it challenging while adding some of the things that did not make V.1.0 Initial.

It's possible but I would not hold your breath on that one, the next version we've already decided for the most part what we want to add, another boat that can pluck people out of the water is not totally necessary, not unless we make alot more water-rescue missions for the new map... If we do I'll add that lil coast guard toy boat they use for water patrols somehow into the mod off-map but still able to grab people from the water... To be honest we've not decided quite yet what all missions we want to torment ya'll with... Either way we are going to make most of you hate us because this mod is intended to be a challenge not a click, play around 20 mins on an incident, get a new incident type of deal... This mod is meant to make you angry... Think of it as staffer's revenge=)

You misunderstand... What I mean is that the Haz-Mat company 1 truck and it's equiptment truck can now permit FF's to get hazmat suits out of the equiptment truck, we forgot about this so the guys can be sent in normal gear, but not change into the appropriate attire to fight hazmat fires on that truck... So that is what we fixed in the patch, Squad does not and will not gain hazmat capabilities in the upcomming patch... The diver suit change option imo is not necessary since divers are rarely needed and 3 units in this mod have the ability to carry the guy to the scene... Just staff him on the R1 on start-up and he's on the map, or call in the jet-ski carrier, or the USCG birdie and you got divers=)

Delete the mod folder 100% manually... If there are no files, then there is no way it can possibly load the corrupted files now is there?=) If u screwed up the ORIGINAL game which is possible, uninstall it, then manually delete the original game folder too... Games/mods when uninstalled leave behind custom modifications you've done typically, deleting them manually removes all references to the files completely.

R1 doesnt fully staff at start-up I just add a diver to it's loadout when the game starts... Adding one at start-up would be dangerously slow because of how he waddles if you needed R1 for something.... Changing into dive gear is a later possibility but not a priority right now, we did add the ability to change into hazmat gear for the patch since that one is probrably more useful than the diver is.

He is just being honest with you when it comes to practical application vs. what you wish... GTA is what your demands are more in line with, this game unfortunately the more you want the more you ave to trigger via script...Whether or not a script fires on time or not is totally depending on the computer speed of the end-user computer.... If it's too weak it will not fire every command on-time, if it's too fast it'll breeze by things it should do to trigger an event.... welcome to EM4.. It sucks.

The staff of emp doesnt fault clans for being around, we just merely want them to learn to co-exist, when WWII breaks out on a forum it just leads to everyone suffering, nobody wins in a war over members or whatever it may be... I just personally from my own views of most of the clan sites wished that they were a bit more forthcomming on what they expected of potential members. It's a pain in the backside to join a site to find out you can't possibly meet the criteria they expect of their members, making this info publically available makes a world of difference=)

Helicopters will fly through large buildings, that is why skyscrapers are not allowed in the game unfortunately, add in the camera would be an unhappy camper if you built true high-rises on a map... Remember EM4 is NOT true to life scale, so unfortunately making a proper map of NYC is next to impossible without either the cam getting blocked or helos doing fly-bys through the buildings.... IMO that's worse than doing a low-rise area of NYC on the map. ESU would make the game far too easy if they did what all they really do, because of NYC's abundancy of calls, they seemed to have hybrid the ESU/FIRE services to be capable of doing both, in this mod which is meant to be far more challenging than the LA mod... It would simply make it far too easy if all the units that *should* do something could... You could send whatever comes to mind and probrably sucessfully complete the objective, that is what I wanted to avoid.. So unfortunately realism pays a price because NYC things work much differently than the strategy-based gameplay I had in mind.... In the game as I've structured it ESU is merely for swat purposes, hostage situation rioters whatever you might want to send them for, they are just cops with more toys to play with, fun toys I'll grant but if they did everything real ESU did the mod would be too easy.

We picked an area to "shrink" down so that you know it's just not 4 blocks on the map... but it gives a nice representation of an area of NYC for the map basis.... The buildings are the thing that concerns us, it's a good bit of work making a whole new map from the ground up but we'll get it done=)

As I've said before there won't be a tiller in this mod, a Tower yes but not a tiller... I am dis-satisfied with how they must work in the game since they can't have physics they just run through everything.. A new map is already on the docket.

The Highway patrol does have a special function, those cars are 10% faster than the regular police department, and in the original version we intended to have the HWY units come from off-map, but unforuntately that caused issues with the doors malfunctioning, so they moved to the PD which makes them seem more redundant than they were originally intended... Aux cops in NYC are more supplemental forces, in the end they'd serve no other purpose to the gameplay aspect of the modification so I have no desire to worry about them at this time. Aside from that the older aux cars looked VERY similar to the existing units in the mod and confusing them could be very easy.

Then you broke it... It's all your fault=-( No, really I just tested the Highway patrol and they all swapped correctly there are 6 total, 3 Vics, 2 Chargers, 1 Impala, all 6 came, I bought more and sent 3 more... All 9 did as they are intended.

This type of vehicle is probrably not going to be possible due to the fact there are a limited number of commands any one unit may posess, I believe there are too many units available for a unit such as this to be plausible to work with just once person on board, and having two people at the same scene would probrably convolute the scenario more than it would assist in resolving it faster.

I believe a light guide can be written for the patch, IE. not comprehensive, NFK will cover that in the full V2 one, but for the sake of just making it easier on people such as yourself because to be honest even I did not have a clue what did what, I had to research, I can adapt a "functionality" document for the modification for the patch that might help you understand what the vehicles do and what they are intended for in V1 of this mod... NFK will do a more comprehensive documentation of how to do everything as opposed to my UNIT>Usage document I will include in the patch. Hopefully this will be sufficient for the time being..
