I dreamed that someone finished the work on my mod for me and all I had to do was release it, then I woke up and reality bites.
-
you can animate a cherry picker for example but it wouldnt behave like a ladder at all, it would have to have a script telling it how to behave full-time instead of being a ladder.
-
I don't believe so, I am fairly sure it's hard-coded for those to extend in boom fashion under normal conditions, such as freeplay.
-
IF the damned thing doesnt make use of the alpha traits, meaning nothing is transparent via the alpha channel, delete the alpha channel from the texture and/or save it as a .BMP and re-associate the model file to BMP instead of DDS since BMP doesnt have alphas =)
-
Why you dreaming about my so you think you can dance try out? I thought I did well in it.

Yeah their response time was pretty commendable, the ones I always worry about are the mall type environments because they are the worst situation to attempt to control. Military/Gov buildings you generally have a pretty good chance of armed security forces roaming about them so the response times are pretty fast on scene for them. In the end I wish I could say there was a way to completely prevent them, but most of the people who do em are frankly suicidal anyway and want to be taken out in the incident anyway... Hard to prevent an incident if the subjects generally get their wish in the event. Tis why bank robbing isnt a popular gig anymore, you get caught you're gna goto jail.. Shoot something up, you end up dead most the time.. To them that's a win.
-
Yeah uhm, no you have a protocol for a lone shooter situation, then you have one for a potential barricade/terrorist... Go in on a hostage situation or a terrorist group and you'll just add to the body count. Trying to guess what the situation is, is the problem in these scenarios. Shots fired in a generally populated area does not mean rampaging gunman every time. Columbine wasnt the only one, nor will it be the last. The sad reality is you can't really stop those types of incidents, especially if the suspect is suicidal.
-
Sad reality is that more muscle usually doesnt lead to greater endurance, to feed those muscles takes more oxygen/energy.. Tis why you look at runners, swimmers, climbers, they tend to be wiry in build... The larger framed counterparts simply don't have the required endurance, yeah they'll relocate a car for ya nicely but it's a one and done type of deal.
-
Some of the most intimidating people I've ever ran into are insanely small build, but the things they can do if need be is downright horrifying.. Size aint everything, its about knowing how to use your size and leverage.
-
I don't shot to injure that's a movie/TV thing... in reality you get to the point of firing a firearm you're going in it with the intent of neutralizing the subject, not just shooting them in the arm hoping they drop the weapon. Yes there are simple clasps that hold a firearm in the holster, it can be undone very quickly if someone knows how it snaps on... Someone with experience with a holster can get it done very fast/easy... Cops are not superman contrary to most people's belief, it is in strength of numbers that they tend to overwhelm a suspect, one on one a cop is just the same as the guy they are up against, it all comes down to the individual, and what they are willing to do to said officer.

it is probrably falling underground, the model's axis is probrably not set at the correct place on the model causing the vehicular to sink into the road, which is why it's still selected but not visible.
-
Yeah uhm, they've had policia cars broken into and weapons stolen.. The whole "lock" mechanisms are a deterrent but that does not mean it's impossible to jack a gun from a trunk.
-
import it to the floor once ur done with it and ur good to go =)
-
Escalation is always a problem, not the mention the fact IF a cop car has weapons IN it, it's an easy mark for a free assault rifle in the trunk. I won't comment on this particular incident, because I'm sure most of you would disagree with my opinion. In general response times have nothing to do with a siege type event, the goal is to secure the perimeter, not move in at engage the subject... This means that regardless to how fast/well armed the first response is, it will NOT engage the potential threat directly unless forced to anyway.. That is why incidents like columbine go on for so long.. Who is the subject in question? What are they armed with? How many? Do they have hostages? Will we further endanger lives by moving in too fast without correct intel? Did they set traps? Are there IEDs present? The list goes on and on, to say that a gun makes a difference, it doesnt... Responses are done by protocols set by the powers that be, adding more firepower or an armored truck won't change the scenario and how it plays out unless you've got a North Hollywood type of incident going down, which even in "gun culture" america is horribly rare.

You want the TGA file version, that's the one you edit, then import into the game as the floor.

You can try to change the settings in the way the video card runs the game, it is a setting being applied to the game that is incompatible, most likely the anti-aliasing, or texture filtering is the culprit.. Like I said I don't have your particular card so I'm unfamiliar with it's control software... Mine by default uses application settings to run all apps/games, that overrides the card's control and goes with what the game wants it to.. In most cases that works great and does not require actions, in some cases, particularly old/incompatible games you need to actually tell it to override the game's preference and not use the settings since the game doesnt support them. I would play with those settings in your video card's control panel and see if there isnt a combo that makes it stop filtering the 3D rendering...

Topic reopened, see the first post for working links apparently... Use this topic for support related to the part(s) in question.

Yeah only staff can Hijack topics.... I have a mouse with the middle button built into the scroll wheel, that along with the scroll wheel allows u to manipulate the view.

You have to have the original map texture, we have them in the downloads section for the original mods... IF it's a custom mod map only the developers will have them if they changed the floor plan... Far as I know once you convert the map to a floor its a one-way trip, the only other thing you could do is place models on the ground that are textured with an alpha that have a road name on it... That would negate needing to alter the original floor map.
-
MY point is watch the language please, you've used inappropriate language in this topic a few times, tis against the TOS round these parts.

Remove the video card driver that shipped with the computer, goto intel's website and manually find the newest driver version, download and install directX 9 and 10 if you can.... One of these things will solve your issue most likely, also check in the video cards control panel there may be settings you can change such as the filtering options and things like that... The reason you have that issue is definately a video card related issue... I don't know that particular intel card, but I know the game can be played on intel chipsets (albeit not to the maximum performance).

Windows 8 64 Bit 911 First Responder Wont Open
MikeyPI replied to Pat Tremper's topic in Technical Related Support
Run as admin, it solves the issue, 911 FR must be run as admin on win8... I havent figured a way around that one (yet). -
Im sure someone has it in their mod... IF it has a wraparound just crop off the wraparounds off it... I had at least 2 that look similar to that one, i think both were wrapped but cut the ends off and you have the same guard.

PM us or report your topic that you want locked b/c it's dead. Either way works for us... one of us would get to it.
-
IF the authors asked us via PM to lock their topics when they were done with them, we would do so but unfortunately most people don't let us know they no longer wish to do their projects so we end up with open dead topics... Such is life but we aint a dictatorship here=)
