Texas Emergency Response Team started conflict with another clan, bringing things to this site that has nothing to do with it, as per our new terms this topic will be closed, this clan is no longer permitted to advertise on Emergency-Planet. Any further topics created related to this clan will result in immediate suspension of the user who does not comply. Clan members may thank willowfork for this action.

The terms of service are legally binding, however, unlike what most people want to believe, when it comes to terms and conditions, as long as the intentions of the document are established and you can understand them clearly there isnt much need to overcomplicate the document. The only time that really comes into play is in legal--as in defensive arguements, if someone were to try to raise a doubt in the document for such a minor error, no judge in their right mind would go "oh well this changes everything! the document is flawed, throw it completely out the window!" They would be quite angered at the person arguing that minor point for wasting the court's time. The reality is under other clauses of the terms of services, we have established everything legally for this site, by using the service you agree to those terms which as an umbrella cover anything that we should pursue at our discretion. In the interest of fairness, that is why this section was created and clearly marked for what it covers, and how we will pursue it. In the end legally there is no way around the rules or their enforcement with or without the additional section, it was added mostly for the users to be clearly advised of the alterations which we will pursue if need be. People assume website services to be a RIGHT, they don't understand that the ability to access, post, download, etc from a site is in fact a privilege, in which no government of the world may deem an entity MUST provide that service to ALL users. If it were in our best interests, we reserve the right to terminate the availability to users at any given time, that could include an entire nation for example if they were disruptive to our operations. If people realized that the internet was a different beast than what most people follow in legal proceedings, they'd do alot better in bringing up their legal arguments that in most instances are frankly inapplicable.

goodluck. Most machines ship with 8 now, which once you get over the start menu being strange is perfectly fine. Believe it or not in most instances you pay more for the windows 7 version than the windows 8 version of the machine. The only compatibility issues I've ran across in win8 is related to things that don't work in Vista+ either, ms-dos based applications. Every other type of program you can get the Visual Basic packages and DirectX packages to run on win8 just as easy as Vista/7.

Not really, no it does not matter. The intent of the terms and conditions remains the same. Such is what happens when you are doing something distracted. The addition of terms is merely to advise people of things that we have ran into recently that now have an official term and condition associated with them, the full terms of services actually covers any actions we may need to take. This was more or less added to give people a stated guideline in regards to this particular aspect of the site. Thanks for pointing that out though.

I cannot find the spec requirements for the mod, but chances are they arent that insane. With any mod that includes custom content unless you go off the hook with sending in tons of vehicles it should run fine on it. If you can get away with upgrading the ram to 8GB that wouldnt hurt though.
-
It should be able to do both those games pretty well, GTA IV modified it depends on the mods on how they'll perform. I can't speak for the spec requirements for all the mods out there. Remember though in the instances of the first two you will require a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers. If you have them already then it would be suitable for you imo.

https://www.digitalstormonline.com/configurator.asp?id=1054631 If you have the external devices IE. Monitor, mouse, keyboard, that one is a decent computer. http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-x51-r2/pd?oc=dpcwxy01s&model_id=alienware-x51-r2 Another with the same issues, if you have the externals it is fine. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-xps-x8700-1262blk-desktop-21-5-led-monitor-package/9999239100050004.p?id=pcmprd237900050004&skuId=9999239100050004 Dell with monitor. but it isnt the strongest gaming computer, the two that are above this one are more ideal.

Game Crashes when loading up Mod
MikeyPI replied to bostonfirefreak41's topic in Technical Related Support
Please be more specific, which mods have you tried? perhaps give us a logfile of one of the crashes along with a directx log. -
The Terms of Service (TOS) have been updated today, please re-read them so you are aware of subsequent changes that have occured: The altererations are noted below as well as a link to the services in-full. http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?app=tos

No, they are not the same game, emergency4/911: First responders is essentially the same game, mods for EM4 are supported on both games. Emergency 2014 is a different version of the game and does not support these mods.
-
Well, to even give you an idea of what you can get we need to know your price point as to what you have to spend on the new computer. Different budgets make for different options.

From what I saw looking on several sites that have sold it, the two primary complaints are the graphics card and power supply are terrible. Outside of that a good number of people had quality-control issues with the product, I am not one to put 100% of my stock into reviews, but when there are certain trends I tend to heed them at least.
-
The like button is within a person's post to the right of it, but I don't think that it is functional to regular members.
-
Piracy is illegal, and you brag about it, so for a parting gift for the rest of the year you are suspended.
-
Alot of people complain about quality control on the above computer from overstock. Whether they just got lemons or not idk, but from what I read it doesnt seem to be ideal for gaming, more of a multimedia computer that wants to be a gaming comp.

Hello, the mod installer DOES in fact work, certain versions of the game out there unfortunately have issues with their mod installers not working, though far as I know most of those have found workarounds for the issue. It is related to the registries in those digital versions. The mod installer is required to install this modification, if the modification installed properly through the modinstaller and is in your modifications listed within the game (Along with in the game's mod directory). Try waiting for a few minutes when you load the mod, some mods take longer than others to load, especially depending on the machines they are installed on, some people's computers do it in under 1 minute, others can take as high as 7-10 minutes to load the mods... Idk why it doesnt at least tell you it's loading the mods but it doesnt. If the mod is in the game directory:mods:mod file folder name: Verify there are items within that folder, we know for a fact the mod does work fine, as its been around for quite some time, it could very well be issues with your particular version of the digital download causing issues for you. Where did you get your version of the game from?

The way the models are in EM4 isnt exactly the most compatible for EM5, but in the end I highly doubt that most people would notice the differences within them. If they were cleaned up it would prob work okey though, but the really low poly models will certainly stand out compared to the "new" ones. IMO not for the right reasons, the new models arent the most impressive things i've seen in my modeling career.

More load on the engine system within the framework of the game. As a rule I try to balance what I add vs what it'll take to run the script on the framework. Such is EM4, gotta manage your resources a bit more b/c of it's natural borne mem bleed it comes with (not shocking em5 apparently has the same). I would've liked to have made more custom scripted items but the cost on the system would've prob limited the end-user range.
-
I've seen LUA scripts used before, the question is the limitation of the game engine within this particular framework. If it has open-ended capabilities then it is one thing but if it is restrictive then it doesnt really matter much. Time will tell what is possible in this game and what is not.
-
I made some of em, most of the ones that I added were ones that altered gameplay though scripts though. Shame on some of em but it's how they had to work.

^Thanks.

The simple facts of it: Pros of a desktop: Easy to upgrade components as they age and get out of date, far easier than within a laptop. Better heat dissipation, thus better for gaming. Cons: Bulky, cannot be considered portable in any way. Building a new gaming rig from the ground up will be rather costly. Unlike replacing just one component, making a whole new one can come in fairly expensive depending on what parts you wish to have within it and the chassis to house it. Pros of a laptop: Mobility, you can take it anywhere and go with it... If you pick a good one they are just as capable as their desktop counterparts (in some cases better, HAH hoop! mein's better!). Can be utilized when a plug is unavailable or on the go (though intensive games will kill the battery fairly fast). Cons: Limited upgrade potential within them. Usually the important guts of a computer are things that you can't replace, IE CPU and GPU's are generally matched to the mainboard of the laptop genre, so changing them after the fact is generally not worth the investment cost. Things like ram and harddisks can be replaced within them though. So make sure that you pick a laptop with optimum video and CPU performance for gaming when you invest in one. They do tend to generate alot of heat when gaming, for a rig with decent cooling capacity this isnt an issue though sitting it on your lap while playing those games can make it rather warm. The mobile equivalent of the video cards generally can't just be straight about performance, so in trying to be more efficient/less heat they lose a bit of performance over their desktop counterpart. This difference is usually a moot point however, as the mobile and desktop versions in real-world performance can generally be expected to be about the same. But in "raw" data on the performance the mobile ones generally take a hit over their desktop counterpart. In the end when it comes to purchasing a computer for gaming or otherwise one must take into count what they tend to do more often. If you generally are sitting at a desk and have the space to place the tower of a desktop, then that is probably the ideal solution for your situation. It would allow you to buy a decent starting computer and upgrade it as you can afford to in order to enhance performance (though realize that the limiting factor is still your mainboard, if it is at the limit of it from the onset of installation then you'll have to buy a new one when the time to upgrade the CPU comes due). If you are for example a college student, or soon to be college student, or someone with limited space, and/or always on the go, a laptop would probably be a more ideal solution. Granted, they arent as upgrade friendly as their desktop counterparts, but in my experience they are just as capable of gaming, in some instances better than their desktop counterparts.. The problem comes into price, if you can't afford the proper equipment within the laptop, then you really won't be setup for gaming. INTEL and other integrated chipsets are absolutely unacceptable for high end gaming application, you need a proper dedicated card, generally nvidia and AMD Radeon dedicated chipsets are what are available on laptops.

[RELEASED] Brooklyn "Borough of Fire" (BOF) Modification
MikeyPI replied to rafaelmfernandez's topic in Mods
Your pickup truck with the cab was just the chevrolet version already in the mod hooked to a ford pickup? Why didnt ya just cut the top cap off and use the existing ford bed and fit to size? -
Yeap most of us don't actively follow every topic out there, so if the maker wants it moved they just have to contact one of us.
