  1. You still visit?? Give this guy a medal. That is impressive.

  2. NFPA guidelines are simply just that.."Guidelines" As Fred stated above, most departments aren't compliant because it is expensive. I'm pretty sure on this, but the NFPA does not dictate what color lights the apparatus has on them. State law and department policy dictates that. BUT I could be mistaken... Pottyscotty, use whatever color you want to use. It's your model and your imagination..
  3. I personally like itchboy's work. From looking at the pics on here, he pays a lot of attention to detail. I agree with his stance on the new models. IMO, the new chargers look like crap anyways. I'm on the fence on the new fords but why go back and change all that you've done, just because new models have come out. Ford is liable to change the model every year. Replacing the crown vic has been a work in progress for years and I'm sure it will evolve. Getting on here and bickering to the mod creator and ESPECIALLY calling him a let-down is uncalled for....as randomperson stated. It does nothing but stir the pot and cause itchboy to really question releasing anything. CFD, you may be right and those may be the new thing to come to the LAPD. However, Itchboy has a valid argument. Those could be test/show vehicles. Not long ago, LAPD had a couple of Caprices outfitted for show. Bigger departments do that, though. They buy different vehicles to test out before actually settling with one. The same goes for stuff like light bars. Take LVMPD for example, they had different vehicles with different lighting packages. They finally settled with the Explorer with the Vision SLR. Itchboy's work represents what you will likely see in the LAPD fleet. Crown Vics, Ford Interceptor Sedans and older model SUVs. Same goes for the Chargers and Tahoes, as well. Keep up the good work, itchboy.
  4. Well, the technology doesn't violate rights. The operator of it does if he/she abuses it . I understand where you are coming from, though. As you said, it was made and is operated by humans, so it is open to abuse. They are set up in hidden spots on every major highway coming into Mississippi. I work two counties south of the Tennessee state line and I can say that we've had great success out of them.
  5. So, we can pretty much expect performance to be upgraded a little?
  6. Great work, itchboy. I'm glad you're helping out with the Montana Mod. It's one of my favorites. Were you being sarcastic about the ALPR being a violation of civil rights?
  7. Awesome work, itchboy!! I love that you're bringing out the crown vics. I have had the fortune of driving most of the new patrol cars that have come out, the caprice being the only one that I haven't. Let me tell you, I haven't really driven one that beats the crown vic, IMO. That car is a tank. I sure miss it!
  8. Awesome work, itchboy! That Caprice is one sexy model!
  9. Ah! Gotcha! I didn't notice a clear lens around it! Awesome work, though! With all of the new or updated models, you should have just gone ahead and asked for permission from Hoppah to redo the entire mod!
  10. Is that supposed to be a rotating spotlight that is hanging upside down, above the lightbar? Not trying to be asinine, you do some very good work!
  11. https://flic.kr/p/7ZTa6H I would assume that they are on top of the rig, in the metal boxes like you have them now.
