  1. So I can't customize or edit light patterns like em4? ...
  2. Guys, they only planted a seed for us modders to grow into a tree ... Give the game a chance. It's a learning curve and if you're going to complain about it then you might as well help out the developers what is wrong with it so they can improve it for us ... This is a major investment for them so they will take any feedback seriously.
  3. I haven't bought the game yet but tomorrow I will be. Has anyone checked out the editor yet ? What's the light customization like ??
  4. To check if your computer will run the game, go to www.canyourunit.com and select emergency 5 from the drop down list.
  5. According to Emergency Newstime on facebook, it is possible to customize lights in the editor. He will be sharing more details about it in the next few hours. I am curious if it will be similar to the em4 light editing concept or a whole new concept with a learning curve ... Is it simplified or advanced, is it possible to create multiple patterns, or to make poly mappings. Who knows, hopefully the guy will shed some answers on it.
  6. Well, I absolutely agree with you, MikeyPI, and we have thought about this everyday. You know, making the transition from emergency 4 to emergency 5 is just like shooting into a fog, you don't know it you missed or not, so I'm just taking a risky gamble here. Should the game live up to it's promises, we would like to be one of the first mods to be available for emergency 5, given that a map is already available and advanced editor, that could help speed things up to the point where we can have a workable product to release for new em5 players to emulate on. However we do understand that the majority of our fans are emergency 4, and we don't want to leave you guys in the gutter with nothing, but bones with little meat on it. Maybe I have a jaded understanding of how this whole things work, but right now we don't have a workable map, nor do we have much scripts to offer. Most of our staffs are moving on with life, into adulthood, careers , family, etc. our availability is just thinning by everyday. I'm currently in a training program for the next 5 weeks, 5 days a week, so I don't have that much availability. Our map maker is in school to become a doctor and the last thing I want him to worry about is mapping, it wouldn't benefit him in life at all. We have tried to recruit potentional map makers, scripters from other communities and we got told " no thanks " simply because we don't have much to offer in the first place. It's incredibly frustrating. Sure most of you can tell us that we should learn how to script or how to map, but please understand that we're not teenagers anymore, we don't have as much free time as we did 3 years ago. We needed fresh minds and they don't want to be part of our cause, so hence why this mod has taken 3 years so far. I just don't have the time to learn how the game works, I have more important things to learn that can attribute to my career and life. Todd has a family and kids to take care of, the best he can do is modelling and that's what he's the best at. There's just a long learning curve that requires so much free time to be able to make a workable map, paths, scripts, etc. We've welcomed volunteers to be part of team, but unfortunately most of the people who wanted to be part of our team only simply wanted to gain acess to our models and use them for their own benefits. So we're just treading through a shit storm. Yes, to most of you we may look like a sinking ship but really we're not, we're just being careful. If em5 turns out to be a complete shit, then we will commit ourselves to em4 100% and try to be aggressive and recruit more potentional modders to our team. We'd really like to have this mod done in everyone's lifetime. We don't want to be the gargoyle in this community ...
  7. There are pros and cons to weight out, but this is not a final decision. Like I said, we'll decide what happens when the game comes out. It's not like we will completely abandon emergency 4, no way we would do that but again we could shift our priorities around and find the balance between em4 and em5. Don't take out the pitchforks yet ...
  8. As of right now, we have suspended the RCMP modification construction until we have concrete confirmation about emergency 5 modding capabilities. We don't want to do too much work and if Emergency 5 turns out to be a much better platform with the abilities to import our models and the ability to edit light we will make the transition from emergency 4 to 5. Emergency 5 is expected to have a decent turn out rate and we'd like to be part of the new community. We have sources that it will be possible to import our models as 15k poly into emergency 5 engine along with the ability to edit lights, but don't hold my word for it until it comes out or when the game developer confirms solid facts ... Having said that, no further updates for the next 3 weeks until November 28th. Imagine playing a 15k poly surrey fire truck in the game ... Thank you everyone.
  9. I have a GTX 580 SOC so looks like i'm good, whew. Sorry for the others though
  10. Attention beta testers, expect your package sometimes tomorrow ! Many of those who have applied are expected to receive the package, as well as for other forum dignitaries.
  11. I need some feedback on this ... I goofed around and made a spoof based on this video,
  12. Okay, so i have a few things to mention to bring everyone up to date : This past week, Goog1967 have been working hard on converting all of the vehicles to SG LA sub modification for all of our beta testers to play on. We have received a lot of applications for beta testers and i want to thank you all for submitting yours in. I am happy to say that 95% of the applications will be accepted, but i will contact each one of you sometimes this week for your assignment. This is exciting and i am looking forward to hear results from each one of you all. Most of the forum moderators will also have their chance to beta test the RCMP modification. The bad news is that, when Goog1967 personally tested out the units in-game, he discovered that every single one of our vehicles are not compatible with the LA game engine because the body size is too big, thus corrupting vehicle paths, or can't fit inside fire stations, etc. So this means that he has to re-size every one of them about 20 percent smaller, about the same size as LA mod units. The part that sucks the most is that all of the lights that i displayed in the last week and half are no good for LA mod, so i will have to re-light every single vehicle ( this means FD, PD and EMS vehicles .... sucks big time ) This also decreases the quality of our skins which is also another downer because in the editor all of the vehicles look HD and hyper realistic, but when you see it in-game the quality has been toned down to sub-par. But we're overcoming challenges. So, the plan right now is that, we will pass the SG LA mod to our beta testers, and over time will update it with converted vehicles and fill up the vehicle pool. For now we have finished 5 engines but they all need lights first. When i light them up, we will release our beta files, along with new sirens, etc. At the same time we will update this beta with new scripts if COPS can help us out with this phase.
  13. The light mechanism looks great but it's a damn shame that the pattern looks very bland/generic looking. I know i can do better than that, if they ever wanted to give me the task ... It's the lights that gives it life.
  14. Just to clarify something here before we get everyone's hope too high, this does not mean that we are almost finalized with the modification. Right now, the beta testers will only be testing the performances of all model and lights only. Our beta testers will let us know what their computer specs are, and then they will test out the vehicles with it's lights on in game play, determining game play performances. But for now, we're only focusing on light and model stability across multiple computer specifications. However as we advance the progress bar, the beta testers will also have opportunities to test other developing things in the future. We're inspecting every block of the pyramid as it climbs to the peak.
  15. Yep, all of the RCMP modding team will be part of the closed beta testing. You will be getting your link sometimes this week
  16. Hello, everyone, The RCMP modding team is inviting of its "most active and trusted emergency 4 players " to inquire within for the opportunity of beta testing our fleet in the upcoming month. This is your chance to prove to us that you are a valuable candidate, and want the opportunity to beta test for the entire duration until release. If you are interested and feel that we can trust you with our most valued materials, you will be required to put forth your best effort. If you are accepted as a beta tester, you will provide useful feedback for us. You will run the modification through its paces as rigorously as you can testing all of its functions. If you find a bug, report it immediately. If you find that the interface clunky, the game play is laboured, or it suffers from poor performance, tell us and explain in detail what should be fixed and what should be improved. You will also promote the process. Tell others what you've experienced in a professional, objective manner. Don't publicly trash the product you've been testing. Remember that the we recruited you guys to give you an opportunity to remedy issues before the product is released. You're here to help us figure out what works and what doesn't. If you mention the beta test, be careful not to reveal things we considers confidential. We are relying upon you for an objective test as well as trusting you to act professionally during the entire process. We have hand picked 5 community key members and will contact them via PM with the golden ticket, so keep an eye on your PM this following week. Once this team have report to us with their findings, we will expand our beta testing base and use YOU for the team. We are only accepting 10 beta testers. Requirements : - Have been with the community for over 1 year or more, registered account. - Have been involved in a modding team or have credible modding experiences, and have a strong understanding of Emergency 4 engine. - is of age 17 or older ( for maturity ) - have a youtube account to upload footage for us. In order to apply, you must write a paragraph of why you should be part of the team, and what you can bring to the table. 200 words or more, any less will be tossed in the delete bin. You can send your "resume" to us on the emergency planet forum to C.F.D or Goog1967 The deadline to apply is September 14, 2014 Thank you everyone, and good luck. Think of this as the Willy Wonka Golden ticket
  17. There is a possibility that we will release one of our models to the public for everyone to find out the performances on their computer, date are unknown though, but it's not exactly set in stone. We still have the LAFD engine to release that we announced a few months ago ( really sorry, guys ) Todd has been really busy in the past months, so I'm just waiting on that. CVPIs are still around dominately in North America, but slowly getting replaced by the new Tarus when the mileage reach a certain number. I'll upload a video of the police interceptor today. itchboy, I'm gonna work on your Explorer SUV model this week, I think you'll be impressed
  18. Started at 11 am, finished at 4 am, pulled a all nighter. Fastest I've ever done, this is what 4,5 years of lighting does to you, you just get used to it and speeds up productivity. Thank you though, I'm proud of it, it's the best to date.
  19. Yes, it will push back the date, we basically gotta go back to square one, but nonetheless we're over phase 1 now, we are making steady progress ... Here are the finished 4 Engines, if you guys have been around for a while hopefully you'll realize that i did 4 engines in 1 day, never done before ... i am pooped.
  20. Hey guys, because we lost all the files recently due to a virus, here are the newest light package with updated spartan models, including more details such as mudflaps, ladder covers, etc. Goog1967 gave them a new face lift and looks twice as better than it's ancestors. The best part about this fleet is that compared to our older light versions, the poly/corona count have been reduced by 40% due to smarter radiation works. So this means that the Spartans, with the freedom light included, won't be over 250 lights, compared to the usual 250-340 lights. This will ease up the stress on your computer rig. There are ground radiation for every light source there is, and it includes three separate layers, middle is bright, and as it spreads out, it fades out it's brightness on the ground, very realistic looking. It also includes perimeter scene light to illuminate accidents or any dark incidents. All of the lights are random, some are synchronized and some aren't. The whelen freedom ultras are being worked on right now and i will update the video this week. I also have finished the Ford Police Interceptors, will upload a video on that as well. Stay tuned !
