Sounds like your graphic card or cpu is overheating.. Have you checked the Temp of the card and Cpu? if not, it might be the Antialias settings of your graphic card. -

I've had the same probo myself... Ambu's get stuck on the parking lot, and sometimes in the fire station. Have to get all the Ambu's out of the firehouse and park them again. Not a biggie.. but anyways.. Still, there are some stuck Vehicles, seems like the FBI suv and a black car get stuck often on the maps edges.. cars that get stuck there can't be shot, removed or redirected.. and does not take damage.. strange thing.. -

I'm glad it worked for you! Hopefully you will find a solution to your new problem as well. I notice that not everyone here is eager to help, even though we are in a Bugs section of the forum Hopefully they will find the path..... Edit by: pyrothijs - Why don't you leave telling people how to behave on the forum to the forum staff, thank you very much Not meaning to step on anybodys toes, just feel like there is no constructive coming out of the guy right here. Just stating my opinion. But again, i'm sorry. -

Anytime! Sorry for the link though. Very good that you sorted it out Must have been the Driver/optimizer unlocking the ability to set affinity. Well, the buttons problem i guess i've never had.. hehe Sounds weird, Hoppah must be the rescue -

True Rodart But standard EM4 does not use as much CPU as when the mods models are loaded. My standard EM4, and other small mods worked fine, but when i loaded LA Mod, or Winterberg mod, the game was awfully slow when selecting units. But, it could be many things.. if you tried the tips i gave you and they did not work, well.. i dont really know It worked for me that time when i had the exact same problem Try to update DirectX, Sound drivers, Bink Video player.. ( i think Emergency 4 uses this player/plugin, Some icon shows in the taskbar when starting the game.. ) .. just to try all .. -

“Fragmentation occurs when the operating system cannot or will not allocate enough contigous space to store a complete file as a unit, but instead puts parts of it in gaps between other files (usually those gaps exist because they formerly held a file that the operating system has subsequently deleted or because the operating system allocated excess space for the file in the first place" To Defrag or not to defrag tutorial I guess almost all people run NTFS system disk nowadays? NTFS is not fragmenting files the way FAT disks did, if you have more than enough space that is And still, never experienced any Major decrease in Cpu or memory usage in games, only in benchmarks.. but of course, every computer is different, just have to give it a try, and hopefully you will find the source of the lag It could be the Units script files that are placed in a cluster that is fragmented, so try defrag. I myself tried that when i had that kind of lag, only thing that helped for me was to install the Optimizer, and change affinity. Helped instantly! Of course, if you run a Proper antivirus fulltime, and for example the Windows Defender as a time-to-time scanner.. then you should be safe.. But if you install several Antivirus-software suites they will try to use same system files, whitch will then affect the protection from viruses. I've never tried the Free version of the Antivirus, but i guess it uses to some point the same virus database and scanner functions as the Fullversion, therefore i never had any kind of viruses. Only weakness it has is that it does not find hidden rootkits.. and i have a habit of getting them Yes, older AMD Dual Cores, especially the X64 cores needed this to work correctly on some systems, therefore the patch... logically BUT, back to Topic. And i Still hope that he finds the solution to this problem, as several people have this issue with the mod. But if Hoppah designed the mod on his Dual Core, well - at least thats not the problem if you have a new Dual Core -

Well, to be honest i think that computers nowadays running high speed HDD's don't really care about defrags, do them once in a while, and you're good. unless of course you install everything directly into C:\ and have an old IBM hdd But yes, people often run Free antivirus, which imo is just a gate to viruses. And often several of these running at the same time.. Several antivirus softwares and antimalware does not mean LESS viruses.. it simply means several softwares trying to use the same system files, which ends in none of them actually working and then rather than protecting the system, slows it down.. People, use One antivirus software. And my personal best antivirus is Avast Antivirus, works great in games, no scanning of every file when starting a game / app, and no lag. And the APP i mentioned is by AMD supporters and its verified by AMD, it was releases right after the AMD Dual Core driver by AMD, and fixed several bugs regarding the Driver that AMD did not have the time/cared to fix. The old Dual Core was not fully equipped with threading support, like the new ones, and Intel's. And here is the official link.. So don't be frightened Xplorer4x4 http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/dynamicDet...&ItemID=153 But back on topic!... Rodart Hope you find your source of problem. Not really easy to find out whats causing this, when you run other mods fine.. But only suggestion i have is that LA Mod have some really detailed models compared to other mods, it might be the problem. -

Sorry, my bad But AMD Processors ( some dual cores ) do have issues with multi threading in some games ( and GTA IV fully supports all types of multi threading, something EM4 does not ).. not all. But of course, it might be some other issue Better speak with hoppah. Core 2 Quad is Intel and not AMD dual core Hence, no problem. -

Aii, too bad I had the same problem too, untill i just bought a new computer with Intel processor. i had the same Dual Core too To me it seems like the game slows down when there is not enough memory or cpu to load the selected unit's models and scripts.. i always got this problem when selecting two cops for example getting cones or fire equipment. -

Don't be rude. "If your topic is not Los Angeles mod related, don't even think about posting here but post where you should! Posting a topic here that is not Los Angeles mod related will be deleted without notice." And i think this can be because of the massive models LA mod uses, and the AMD dual core processors. Might try these two steps : Install this .. http://www.techspot.com/downloads/3116-amd...-optimizer.html And do this : .. http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-...11-6168870.html -

Then i guess you should try to look at other possibilities.. because the installer works perfectly in both Win XP Home, Professional (32/64 bit) and Win 7 Home/Ultimate/Enterprise (32/64 bit) In Win 7, sometimes you have to run the installer as Administrator, or add compatibility for Windows XP SP3. But, i did not have to do that. But i've heard people had to. -

Sigh... sometimes i guess people just are not allowed to be using a computer.. God forbid if they had to read install manuals.. -

And one little more tip-of-the-trade If you feel the game runs slowly, and you are running a AMD Dual-Core CPU.. Then do this to fix it Open the Task Manager ( CTRL-ALT-DEL ) Right click on the EM4.exe \ EM4deluxe.exe .. And choose "Set Affinity" Then unhook one of the CPU's that are assigned to the game. So that only ONE CPU remains hooked out. This will focus only one CPU part to the game, and this will fix alot of "slowliness" -

Just buy another Fire chief.. and assign him to Hotkey 1.. then you can use him to spawn the units you need I always park some police cars around town on standby so they are available... and have two or three patrolling.. no more traffic problems as long as i dont redirect in any way.. -

By now, it's the only thing to do But still, i rather restart the game when this happens... because the traffic jam gets so out of control.. that it would be an endless mission to clear it -
[EM4] Los Angeles Mod bugs, issues and problems
Firstyminator replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod
seems pretty strange.. does that only apply to the cars shown on the picture ? Because other cars seems to work fine... but i don't know... but the times the traffic chaos start, it's often because of these cars.. But you might add the possibility to transport them away with a tow truck ? Like for example in Winterberg Mod, when you can transport away cars even with persons inside -

Oh and the new rapid deploy does not work on the brush truck. FF unhooks and stands there. That is also true. Don't know why.. but at several other occations this happens to other fire engines as well. not only the brush truck.. Seems like it depende on the position they are on the map. But this traffic redirecting problem is a real bugger. Can't seem to put my finger on where the problem occurs.. and why.. -

Hehe.. thats an idea... but recently the whole map was filled with cars.. so it would take too much time And still... when destroying cars.. it will only make the car line longer
