  1. I dont think so, if there is an active shooter there is no need to set up a perimeter because you know where the suspect is and hes not going anywhere because hes shooting people. After Columbine Law Enforcement changed their training and tactics so they dont wait outside waiting for swat while people are being killed. Every officer should be trained for this type of scenario now they may wait for a few more units to arrive so they can engage the shooter in groups which makes sense but you cant wait 30 minutes to an hour for the swat team to be called and hope for the best. And most officers carry rifles in their vehicles so im sure they are equipped to handle most situations. Ill give you an example the Shooting that recently happened at FSU that shooter was killed by patrol officers from the University's police department along with Tallahassee PD. In active shooter situations time is of the essence because you have to save as many lives as possible and i think because of their quick response they saved lives. http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/20/us/fsu-incident/
  2. Yea I agree that officers should be held more accountable for their actions but like you said its nearly impossible to prove criminal misconduct or negligence. I think it most cases the officer is just placed on leave or given a memo aND that's that. And the victim with just sue the department and city later on so who ends up paying for the officers misconduct? The taxpayers. I think body cameras are a great idea and I know a lot of the agencies in my area are using them now. But cameras are nothing new and they have no effect if the officers know they wont face any consequences. I think it comes down to more training and a total overhaul of how officers interact with the public. And officers need to know they will be held accountable for their actions. I think that change is coming thanks to this movement. There have been local riots such as in LA in the past but these protests are nationwide there was one in my city last night and that means that all levels of the Government and Law Enforcement are paying attention and listening.
  3. I agree that people automatically pick sides when they hear about these events. Assuming that the police are always in the wrong or vice versus. However i think these events are just being manipulated to push an agenda. In the ferguson case we dont know what really happened. But why would a police officer with no previous disciplinary action attack and kill a person for no reason? Now the other side will say why would Micheal Brown do that? We dont know but at this point im skeptical of both sides of the story. Now for the Eric Garner case was he unarmed? Yes was he actively resisting the officers? Yes? Was he alot bigger than the officers? Yes So what we have here is someone who is resisting the officers and they have the right to use to force to restrain him. This was a move that was taught to them in the academy and they believed it was safe. Im sure no officer there intended for Eric to be killed and the officer even came out to say that. So how could you possibly arrest someone for doing their job. The fact of the matter is if you dont want to get hurt or even killed dont resist or attempt to fight with the police. You may say that its in our nature to fight or flight but its common sense if you think the police are in the wrong than just let them do their job and you can take corrective actions later. But how is fighting or running from the cops every going to help your situation? Its only going to escalate it and there was really no need to here. If Eric would have just given up this wouldn't have been a big deal but he made it a big deal. And to the "I cant breathe thing" i think officers hear that type of thing all the time so they probably didnt believe him or just thought he was using it as a ploy to escape. I think alot of people are just hung up on the unarmed thing. But just because someone is unarmed doesnt mean they are not a threat to you. Every police officer in the United states has a weapon on their person at all times so their live is always in danger. Police Officers are human and they do make mistakes but they dont have x ray vision or cant predict the future so they have to make split second decisions based on what they know. I think holding Police Officers criminally responsible for these types of situations in the line of duty would set a dangerous precedent and would really hinder what the Police would and could do.
  4. Will you be including FHP in this mod?
  5. Okay so im still getting the while halo but now its flashing and its with other units so far the pumper, ambulance, and police van. Also the bumper and real lights on the police car are white and only one flashes. Same with the doctors car and the left back light on the roof isn't flashing at all. Im not sure if they are supposed to be white but it the white lights dont look good imo. Sorry but this is the worst version so far.
  6. Couldn't have said it better, now we wait!
  7. if you are experienced with the editor you can just move the path over and that should fix the issue or do as Itchboy stated. My cars drive on the sidewalk but i dont mind as long as they are moving
  8. Cant wait! And im sure you will figure it out
  9. Bus looks good i actually prefer the older style.
  10. Yea after this Em 5 debacle this is all i have to look forward to so take as long as you need to perfect it.
  11. oh okay it was the first time they did i guess and im sorry to hear that.
  12. I noticed they automatically connect to the trucks now idk if that there was before or if its only when a hydrant is not available but i think people had to edit the files to get them to connect.
  13. That school bus is legit! Good work!
  14. I think with any new game engine somethings have to be sacrificed in order to devote resources elsewhere and this was one of them. Im disappointed that we cant enter the high rise buildings as this was something i was looking forward to it would really open up alot of opportunities for game play if we could. Another thing they should have done was allow for a free camera we have larger maps and skyscrapers and we cant even enjoy them. I dont know if they will add things to the game im not that familiar with this developer but i feel like they are really trying to make this game more appealing to the masses so who knows.
  15. I have essentially the same setup as you and after the latest patch the performance has improved and i think it is fine and there will be more patches to come to improve performance. Now as for the game play its essentially stock em 4 with updated graphics with a few more tools and some new events. In my opinion i don't think the game is really worth the 45 bucks i paid for it for what you get as ive beaten the very short campaign and have no real desire to continue to play the game unless mods do come out. So i would suggest waiting until we see if modding takes off for this game and im sure it will go down in price at some point in time.
  16. Everything looks great so far! I really like the fact that you keep us updated at every opportunity.
  17. Hopefully there will be scripts for this game and you can use the lights and siren however you wish
  18. I think the latest patch returned some of the lighting back to the original. Also i think there is a bug on the water tender as whenever i use it the graphics get all contrasted but as soon i send it back to HQ the graphics return to normal. This is the only vehicle i have an issue with. I looked at it in the editor and i think theres a white light under it that is causing the issue.
  19. After the latest patch the doctor wont go back into the ambulance he will just drop off his bag and then it will reappear? It was working fine before the patch.
  20. Yea this patch definitely made a difference i have it at 1920x1080 on medium settings and im getting about 30-40 now. It does still shutter and the FPS drops if there is alot of fires or units but its definitely playable now!
  21. The police tape works for me most of the time you cant place it on a road but it actually gives you a decent distance so if there is a sidewalk on both sides of a road you should be able to place it across the whole road. I believe the tape allows you to secure the scene as it appears the officer attempts to stop anyone that comes close to it. I think you just need to play around with it more to get the hang of it. There is no halt cars command but the AI is much smarter so you can just block the road and they will go around most of the time.
  22. Omg i was just thinking that! I love your work btw!
  23. Okay well I will play later and see if i notice a rise in FPS.
