It worked, thanks Mod is great btw, just need to sort out my performance issues (non-mod related) and ill be loving the hell out of it!

When I download the mod, extract the files to my desktop and subsequently try to install via the Mod Installer, it says the Mod package is corrupted? Is there any chance this is on my end? or is it a problem with the download itself?

Okay, finally, I have manged to get it working. I have no idea what I did, but I know I changed my Desktop Resolution, launched the game and it worked. But I can now launch it with my Native Resolution (1440x900) and it automatically adjusts it to whatever screen res is within teh document. Hurrray!!! However. All fun isnt over. Suddenly, my main menu looks like this. Has anyone had any problems with this in the past? |----------|------ Not close to banging my head on the walll anymore!

I wonder if a re-install, into a folder other than Program files might work? But still, it wouldnt explain why its not accepting my Resolution Changes

Always run as admin, and I have disabled Account Control so Vista permanently runs everything in Admin mode, but ill try and re-enable Account Control and directly tell it "yes, RUN IT" EDIT: I just tried this, and still no luck. I tried a huge range of Resolution problems, and I know that its the resolution thats causing the problem, just for some reason the game wont accept the resolutions, even though I played forever on 800x600, and after installing Winterberg managed to run it in 1280x1024, which was a dream come true. I am |--|------------ this close to banging my head against the wall! EDIT: I tried using the repair function on my Discs autorun, and that didnt work either. |-|------------ getting closer....

Okay, im at a complete loss. I am having the common problem, where once I launch the game, it launches in a window for a second, then switches to full screen and immediately crashes down to the desktop. I have tried doing a hundred of the different things on here to fix it: I uninstalled the k-lite codecs, I dont believe i have any other codecs installed, apart from ffdshow (or something like that) I have attempted to change the resolution to 800x600, then 600x480, and yet my game still doesnt run. I downloaded the new Configuration files from the download centre, and they didnt work. I would be forever grateful if someone could give me a solution. Oh and on a side note - My game used to run perfectly, only had some graphical problems yet it always worked without any CTDs. Only now when I have re-installed it is it not working. Okay, I give up, and need help here! My editor is being a pain in the ass for some reason, ive got my Shortcut set up as - "C:\Program Files\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4\Em4.exe" -Editor Ive tried doing Compatiblity to XP, Running as Admin, and also both at the same time, with no luck. When I hit go, it just flashes as a blank screen. Ive attached a pic of this (note - the quote is a part of my background, not the editor problem ) I remember my Editor actually working, and I even began a mod, but now it just decides not to! In that case you just need to branch out of this forum. Check out ModDB or game artist forums, truth is that a lot of people will want to model stuff for you for their portolios (covers working to a brief etc) Give me 20 mins and ill get you a model done, but I cant UV Map it. Im only doing this model to kick your mod off the ground, as ive been in your position myself, and it aint nice. Edit: You can have the model at this stage, all that is needed is the ladders and any extra details, plus UVW Map and a skin. Good luck with your mod, I wish you the best

Take a word of advice, dont pay people to do a mod! If you look around, there are hundreds (thousands in fact) who would be willing to give you a hand for the creation of models. As much as £1 a model seems reasonable, just trust me and dont pay for modellers!

If you need any 3D Models completed, give me a shout and id be glad to try and give it a go Preferably either Structures, Objects or Vehicles, im not very good with Humans/People objects

Hmm I havent got any ideas how to solve it, rather than the accidental way I did. Try downloading the Winterberg mod, then when your in the configurator, change the resolution to whatever resolution suits your screen (or a scaled down one)and then save the details. Launch the winterberg mod and see if it works (it takes a long time for mine to load past the black screen, literally 10minutes) if the mod loads with no errors, exit to desktop and try launching other mods/the original game. Only solution I can think of

True actually I just meant that it served its purpose, but I can see that it would be useful to others. And yeah, unfortunately its a Laptop, so im screwed with it really :/ cant change any of it except adding more RAM, which is the one thing that doesnt need upgrading :/

Could a Moderator lock this thread? I found out a way to fix this, I changed the various options (RES=1440x900, 32Bit etc) in the Winterberg Configurator, then launched any other mods and they run with the settings No errors!

I can help, im very much interested in helping out a UK team. I am a 3d Modeller, and I cant Texture or UV Map

Any ideas at all? Can anyone even help with just the resolution problem at the bottom?
