Great stuff man. Looking forward to this mod!

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to add an already existing vehicle to an ingame mission list by using the editor? I have looked around, but nothing seems to make sense. I am trying to add Tower Ladders 1 and 13 to the fireworks factory and other missions. If someone knows how to do this, and can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

First, thanks for your hard work. I'm one of the guys who have not had any download and installing issues. The Tower Ladders rock! You guys were right on with that. I had serious issues with traffic and pedestrians. I went into the editor and cut these down. The freeplay is much more enjoyable now. I have the same issues as everyone else regarding the tow trucks, station alerting, and ctd after about 2 hours. I know when the manual siren buttons stop working that a crash is coming. Anyway, thanks for releasing this.

http://www.emergency-forum.de/board41-emergency-4/board135-emergency-4-modding-teams/board178-new-york-modifikation/board139-allgemeines/49389-new-york-mod-project-2012/#post793023 It sounds like they have decided to downsize the scope of the initial release, with only FDNY. Then they will release later versions of the game with NYPD and FDNY EMS. This mod is like crack. Every time I drop it and move on, they come out with some new stuff, and I get hooked again. Their modeling is just unreal. If this mod ever becomes a reality, it should be a good one. Whether that happens, who knows, but I like what they are saying........again......

I don't need to hear from you kid. I wasn't addressing you at all. Go play your playstation and leave this conversation to the adults. I have shown these guys plenty of respect. No part of my post was disrespectful. I have not been on here bashing them. I have been super supportive of their efforts, and wholeheartedly support this mod. Sneak peaks were great when it was January, and they were saying that the mod was going to be out in the spring. It is spring now. I'm saying what everyone is thinking, and what the creators themselves know. We would rather play this mod than read about it or watch it. Rafael himself aknowleged this when he posted that it would be out by Easter. The fans are starting to get restless. We have shown great support, and as far as I know, nobody has complained about the delays. We recognize that these guys have lives, and that building a mod takes time. We understand that they want to give us the best mod possible, but like some others have said, it looks like it's playable now. If there are minor bugs and glitches, we can deal with it. Don't come on here and start bashing the long term supporters of this game and mod for having an opinion. As far as I know, you haven't earned that right, and even if you have, I'm not the guy who wants to hear from you.

I see both sides, but in the end, I believe from what you have shown us, that it is time to release the mod. The videos are nice, but in the end we just want to play the game, not watch somebody else play. This is only my opinion, however, I think that you guys are starting to travel down the same road as the original NY Mod (The one that has not been released). We are seeing a lot of great things, but we are playing nothing. It's frusterating as a fan. In the end, I visit here less and less, and post less and less, because the end result is the same. You guys have tried to keep us informed and interested. However, I'm only interested in playing the game. I could care less about fan art, weeks of awesome, or an hour long video watching someone else play. I don't need tutorial videos. I can figure most of that stuff out on my own. I would very much like to play your mod, and give you great feedback about something that you have spent a lot of time and energy working on. Hopefully very soon, I will be able to do that. Please don't be offended by my remarks. As a firefighter, I certainly like to look at pictures of fires. But I would much rather fight fires myself. This mod is along the same lines. At this point, my only interest is in playing your mod. Please understand that many others here probably feel the same way.

Nice gameplay footage. I noticed in this video, and in the previous ones that the players don't use the tower ladder at all. Is that just player preference, or are you guys still working out the kinks?

Dude, you gotta calm down with all of the questions and the excitement. The mod will be out when it's out. These guys have released an aweful lot of information. For God's sake, let them work in peace!

I realize that Ferrara built a new Rescue 1. I am aware of the numerous photos and videos of this vehicle. I'm pretty sure that it is not in service yet with FDNY. I believe that at this time they are still using the Pierce, and I have heard that they are actively campaigning to keep using the Pierce. From what I have read, the new rescues have had their share of problems and Rescue 1 does not want to give up a unit that they like for one that they don't........If you can direct me to a video of the Ferrara Rescue 1 responding to a call in Manhattan, then I will be wrong. But by my account, it hasn't happened yet......
-
There are 5 Rescue companies in FDNY. Rescue 1=Manhattan. Rescue 2=Brooklyn. Rescue 3=Bronx. Rescue 4=Queens. Rescue 5=Staten Island. Some of these companies had their apparatus completely destroyed on 9/11. Shortly afterwards, all five rescue companies recieved brand new E-One rescues. In 2007 Rescue 1 recieved a brand new Pierce rescue truck, which they currently run. Currently, the department has taken delivery of 5 new rescues which were built by Ferrara. I believe most are currently in service. I believe that Rescue 1 has opted to keep their Pierce, but I don't know. To sum it up. From September 10, 2001, to present; Rescue 1 in Manhattan has had 4 different trucks. Here is a link to a great forum with a ton of information about the new rigs. http://nycfire.net/f...pic,6058.0.html Also, page 18 has a video of Rescue 5 responding with their new rig.......

I'm going to be constructive here, so don't kill me. First. The map, buildings, and vehicles look great. Nice job. The sounds are not so good in my opinion. Of the mods that I have played, I still think that the LA Mod has the best siren and air horn files. I would rather that you copy those than use what was shown in the video. Also the dispatching. I would rather have the British dude than the computer sounding guy. But surely you can get someone to do a voice over that is more realistic. If not, contact me, and I will try to help out. Also, I realize that you guys are not going to put a lot of traffic in this mod. But the streets do need to have a ton of parked cars on them. After all, it is NYC! At no time are their streets empty. I know you guys are releasing soon, but I would wait and tweak these things. I also would not use the aerialscope as an engine company! With MW3, Battlefield 3 and a whole host of other games out there, I think that the "fall" release date can be tweaked without too much complaining. If you need more realistic siren and air horn files, I may be able to get you some. I definitely have the access, but converting them is another issue. Anyway, this is just my $.02

I think that the next installment will be as good as anything out there. What I like about these guys is that they are quietly building their NY map. While I also like updates and pictures and such, these guys have proven that they'll deliver something very nice. They said a little bit ago that they were redoing the map and that the update wouldn't be out for a bit. I trust that when it comes out it will be great. In the meantime, there are other things out there to play. BF3 will be consuming some of my limited video gaming time.....
-
I like your maps and the updates. I may be the lone voice here, but I say don't release without the tower ladder. Take the time that you need to work out whatever you need to do, but IMO, as many people are waiting for that as are waiting for the new maps etc. Another couple of months won't hurt. We can wait.......BF3, MW3 are both right around the corner. I say take your time and do it right. Just a question, but I was wondering about the physics of fire in this game. I was noticing in the video that the contents of the room will burn (couches, furniture, debris, etc..) but the actual room itself never catches fire. I was wondering if this would be too hard to change. When we pull up to two rooms off, everything in the room is burning. The drywall, ceilings, everything. It is floor to ceiling fire. we may make a knock with a master stream, and then mop up, depending on the conditions. Is something like this doable in this game, given the current scripts? My one gripe about the interior fires in this game is that they never grow. I could have a couch fire, and it would stay a couch fire for 20 minutes. If I don't fight an exterior fire, they will grow and spread, and I will be in trouble, but the interior fires never ever spread in this game. I understand that the freeplay scripting is limited, but I was wondering if a change in this area was possible. Thanks.

Sorry, but I am a bit confused. Are we getting TL 1 in this update, but with the same gameplay scripts as the LA Mod? Or is the act of actually putting the tower in this game very complicated, and you guys are gonna wait and release the tower in the next update?

Hi guys. I'm loving the updates! I can't wait to play it! I just looked over the QRA forum. I really like their models. I'm not a modder, so I don't know if the presentation is giving them a better look, but they are superb! I think that it's awesome that you guys are working together. I often wondered why you guys didn't band together to do one or two supermods, instead of five separate, competing mods. It's obvious that you guys have different strengths. You mentioned that you are trying to get on rooftops? Contact the Original NY Mod guys and ask them for help. They have done it, and I don't think that it will take away from their mod if you put it in your mod. I really like the look and feel of your map, and feel that it is second to none. This combined effort is nice to hear. Hopefully, some others will jump in and offer to help you with what you need. I would ask about the rooftops, and I would also ask about the situational sliders. It would be nice to be able to turn up/down/on/off,EMS runs, PD incidences, weather and time of day IMO. Great updates!

No offense bro, but I, like many others here, do it as my profession. You aren't going to give me anything that I haven't done in real life. (Except for the fireboats). I will be more blown away that the mod is actually released than by anything that is in the game.........As for the difficulties, I am sorry to hear that, and hope that things get better for you.
