Hi Dyson, I downloaded teamspeak, but the only mic I have is through a hardwired xbox 360 mic. I couldn't get it working. I also can't manage to log onto the MERU server. Is changing the specs something that I can do through the editor? If so, what do I need to change? Thanks.

Hi met, You have to get your guys inside the second floor with the ladder truck. Rescue the guys, and either use 2 ladder trucks to fight the fire, or use a bunch of guys with extinguishers. Let me know if this helps.

Hey guys, quick question. Is there any way that I can make the building fires harder to put out? Can I go through the editor? I love this mod, but I am finding that the fires go out way too quickly. How can I fix this?

Hi Raf. What about something for us guys who have followed you on here and the Manhattan Mod website? Can you email us a link? I'm not really wanting to sign up for teamspeak.

2.03 is very good. I love the NYC look and feel. You guys have done a nice job. I have some simple observations. Engine 53's first due are doesn't really have any action at all. There are a few good calls at the tire shop, and a few good calls at the construction site, but that's it. There aren't many people in that area either. Also, the heart attack across from the firehouse always fails. For some reason, I can't care for or pick up the victim. I always fail the wreck at the upper left side of the map because the woman always dies. I did stage Squad 18 at the top of the map and was able to get to her, but that's the only way not to fail it. The fires are just too easy to put out. I'll send the first due engine and truck and B10. The fire is usually out before my second due engine arrives. Pigeons and cats don't want to move for fire engines blaring lights and sirens? Only in NYC! Other than that, I am enjoying this. I'm not on twitter or facebook, so I'm not up on version 3. 2.03 is my favorite version so far.

I like the new version. Love the new lights. Nice job guys. If I had to come up with a gripe, it would be that I'm not getting any big fires in freeplay, when I play fire/ems only. But this game is a lot of fun. This is by far my favorite mod. Nice job!

Just played the updated version for the first time. Nice job! I love the new LED lights. I played for about an hour or so. Traffic did hem me up, but it was time to get off anyway. I did have a fire that I couldn't see or extinguish. It was in a high rise, and I had every engine there, but it wouldn't go out. I enjoyed it though. Good job guys.

Not trying to be a pain in the ass but.......I'll take the game with some of the bugs fixed. Things like the broken buildings where you couldn't get to the third floor, the fact that when you engaged the jacks on the tower ladders, the whole rig flipped around, and the emergency lights went out. Squad 18 having no deck gun or rapid deployment, fires that the ladders wouldn't put water on them, etc, some of the extra alarm bugs. I haven't heard any news of these things being fixed. That's all I am looking for. If you have fixed these things, then cool!

Yeah. I hear you man. I've long lamented what happened to this genre of shooter. In fact I gave up on the tactical shooter years ago. I was happily playing BF3 when I got an email from ghostrecon.net about this game. I haven't posted on that site for years! Anyway, I donated, and would love to see this game come to pass. I figured that there had to be some tactical FPS fans on this site. I guess we'll find out how many guys like me are still out there...

I'm a fan of the Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six genre of games. I spend a fair amount of time on BF3, but this game looks sweet. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/670743543/ground-branch They need our help. If you have been lamenting the death of the true tactical shooter, here"s your chance......

The lights on the tower ladders turn off when the jacks are engaged. Also the tower ladders do this weird flipping around thing when the jacks are engaged. There are some fires that the tower ladder wont put water on. The ladder rotates, and the water symbol comes up, but no water. The station alerting doesn't work. Also, 10 Engine empties its crew every time it returns to quarters. Some fires appear to be right at the level for the ladders to put water on them, but they can't turn on the water. Only the engines can put these fires out. Squad 18 has no deck gun or a rapid deploy command. Bombs don't explode, police that are on the street can't move if you use them to catch a criminal, using ladder 24 in any way causes a crash to desktop. There are some buildings where you can't access the fire or rescue the victims, extra alarm units get stuck in each other, Engine 54 cant be called from the sation to the scene, it must be pulled out of the firehouse first and then directed to the scene. If not, it just sits in the station. These are all that I can think of off the top of my head. I had other stuff like the tow trucks not deploying, but most of these glitches went away after I edited some things.

Yeah, I misspoke. I meant to say that small changes to maps and buildings and such more than vehicles. The vehicles are fine. There are a couple of LA Mod maps out there which is nice.

Well I was one of those guys. I admit it. It is what it is. I'm convinced that the meat of the issues with this mod have to do with the its size and that most people's computers just don't have enough memory to run it successfully. I was one of the guys who went into the editor and deleted some stuff. Mostly small things like trash. I did eliminate some cars and people as well. I can play with no major issues for an hour or so. I also cut back the traffic and pedestrian spawns so that traffic isnt such an issue. It took some figuring out, but I wanted to play this mod and not throw it away. It's a fun mod. I was willing to bend and learn how to get this game to be playable on my PC. After all, I did push them to release it. It wasn't hard to go into the editor, and I am wondering why this info hasn't gone out to everyone. Maybe it has? Who knows? These guys shouldn't have to shoulder the burden for every aspect of this mod. We can step up and do some things to lighten the load. After all, a lot of guys stepped up and produced models and maps for the LA mod, perhaps we can do the same here.

I like the current map. There are a few things that need to be addressed, but the map itself is great. There are a ton of buildings where the tower ladder pipes don't work. The ladders rotate, but no water comes out when you hit the hose symbol. The brownstones at the upper left side of the map are guilty of this glitch. There are many buildings that are 4-5 stories, and the fire is on the top floor, that the water won't turn on. The extra alarm glitch is still there. From messing with the editor, it looks to me like the two vehicles are inside of each other, and that's why they can't move. Squad 18 has no deck gun or rapid deploy command. Engine 54 stops when pulling out of the station. I have to pull it into the street before I can send it on a run. Also Ladder 4's sirens don't automatically work. These are the only remaining glitches that I can recall. I have manually edited the map, and have done away with mostly small things so that my pc has more memory available. If these things are patched, and the CTD is fixed, then I believe that this will be the best mod out there.

Well this mod certainly has a lot of potential. It's kind of a shame that it's just gonna die out, but it is what it is, and I guess we'll have to look to some of the other NYC based mods to carry the torch. I can play for over an hour, and then I get the crash to desktop. If I had any skills, I would fix that. I'd also fix some of the buildings where you cant get upstairs to rescue the victims or put the fire out. Also a few of the buildings have fires that the ladders dont reach, even though they appear to be at ladder height. There are a few other things as well. I feel bad for Dyson and Rafael. They obviously put a lot of hard work into this map and their mod. For some reason many people weren't able to enjoy it. I have played and enjoyed it, not to the level of the LA Mod, because I get a crash after about an hour or so. This map seems to eat up my memory. I can tell when the crash is coming because the automatic sirens stop working. It feels to me as if this game is dying. Not this mod, but this whole game. That's sad to me because this series has been a part of my life for years. I have played every installment except for 2012, and have been playing EM4 for years. I have enjoyed the LA Mod, and often play this game after a shift at the firehouse. To speak freely, this is an unfinished mod. It seems like the guys just lost interest. I get it. They're young, and there certainly is a lot more out there than modding, and this game. We certainly understand. To me, this project was the reason to keep playing this series, so this could be the end of an era for me, especially since there really aren't any other good PC based FD games out there. The original NY Mod is still being developed, and Brooklyn is still in play, but who knows if those will ever come out. Perhaps someone else will pick up the torch and complete this mod and revive this community. In my opinion, this series won't be complete without a good, comprehensive FDNY mod. There are certainly other cities out there that would be fun to play, but in the firefighting world, FDNY is king. That's why guys like me are still checking the NY mod after 4 years. Hopefully, someone else who has some serious skills and some free time feels the same way. Time will tell I guess.....

I have the same issue. I am very confused. I thought that this mod was DOA. I'm reading that there is another version possibly coming out. What gives?
-
OK thanks.

Is your official website down? Or am I just not allowed to access it?

Hi Dyson, Look man, you and Rafael with your youthful energy breathed a lot of life into this forum. You guys loved this mod and it showed. You were different from the other stuffy mods who begrudingly showed their stuff. You guys happily showed your stuff, and the community responded. That's why you guys have 304 pages on your mod page. This mod is just getting going. Stick around man. See this through. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this is the best current mod for this game. I played this game again today and loved it. It's great. But without you guys and your support, it will just fall by the wayside. That's not the right thing. Take some time off and come back and finish what you started. It's only right man.

Recruiting a development team for Project X

I can be a "reality consultant" other than that, and a donation......I don't have much to offer....... -
Sounds to me like you really want to go to NYU Poly. I say go with what you really want. That will drive everything that you do. You'll be happier with everything if you're in a spot where you want to be.
-
That's cool man. Just wanted you to know that guys like me who pushed for this mod haven't cast it aside. We're playing it and enjoying it. Good luck with your new project.

Hey man. That's a shame. The last time that I checked, there are about 5 groups who have started NY style mods. You have delivered the only playable NY map for this game. You should be proud of that. You have also delivered the only working Seagrave Tower Ladders. Again, you should also be proud. Other mods have great looking models, but in reality, that's all they are is something to look at. In 3-4 years, of all of the proposed NY mods, only 2 have actually come out, and only yours has a NY looking map. You need to look at this wih a sense of pride man. There are some issues with this game. In my opinion, you guys went a bit too big. That's cool though. It wouldn't be NYC without being over the top. I have gone Into the editor and deleted a bunch of little things, and also edited the traffic and pedestrians. I have eliminated most of the glitches, including the 10-75 and return to HQ glitches. My PC has 4 gigs of RAM, and many times I play while streaming thebravest.com. This is a good fun game. If people want to enjoy it, they will do what I did. It works. You guys stepped in and delivered a NY mod at the time when the entire community was dying for one. It didnt take you guys five years to do it. In the end be proud, and dont listen to the haters. Especially ones who have never delivered anything, but want to openly criticize your work. That's not worth getting upset about at all. Three years from now we'll still be waiting for their mods.... Thanks for your efforts man. Don't quit. When the dust settles people will begin to understand how good and fun this mod already is. I have.
