Edgewood Mod (Slow WIP) *NEW MODEL PREVIEW!*
squamishfire replied to ThinBlueLineKY4's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
What is the difference between a Brush Truck and a Brush Engine... is a truck smaller than a engine? -
Hey all.... I am drooling right now.. Vancouver Fire Rescue has ordered twenty-four custom fire apparatus.... they are 9 custom pumpers, 5 rescue-pumpers, and 10 105' heavy-duty aerial ladders the contact is valued at roughly 24 mil US... It will bring the amount of Smeal units that Vancouver uses up to 56 with the entire front line units being Smeal. Anyone that wants to Model VFS now has it set depending on the body configuration. Here is the website if you want to have a look yourself. http://www.smeal.com/news.aspx?year=2015&r=38

Just out of wonder. did you want us to put the new ambulance into the units file and everything like that or did you forget to add a file in. I have downloaded it twice and realized that was the problem. looks great from your video

An Engine can be called out instead of a Rescue as well I have actually seen Ladders and Quints called out. Really it is all based on the department, most are called Rescue/Engines but with a Engine call sign. Rescues do typically have Jaws of Lifes or some type of heavy equipment with them. Vancouver Fire Rescue has actually just recently started to change out their big Rescues to smaller F150 crew cabs to get around the city easier. Where if you were to look at Squamish Fire Rescue (the department that I was part of for 4 years) has a Rescue/pumper with a Engine call sign. When are Ambulances not busy goog that's why FD gets called out and beats them to the scene 70% of the time, it's actually something that I have started to do in game Looks great guys!!!

Fair enough answer... Thanks In British Columbia Medical Service runs with their own stations averaging roughly about three units per station... I only know of one station to date that is connected to a Fire hall and I believe that was coming to a close last I heard. I can understand the events/space ratio that is a problem, if only we could just make the map that little bit bigger so that way we can put everything we want on it right Again thanks!

Lol on when I get that hateful train call I call all the medics in with one MCU lol... After that I send them all back to the maintenance depot except for my usual
-
Are you guys still going to have the Ambulances at the hospital or are you gonna give them their own station or put them in a fire house?
-
I find the amount of current medics excessive myself... I know it was meant for multi but when in single player I usually run with a medic in hall 1 2 and 4 and some times have a spare in 5

on it bud! -
I know you won't tell us what it is but you guys have found/made a script where our vehicles have fuel in them and after so long we are gonna have to "fill er up" aren't we. *sighs* guess I am gonna have to wait to see when this mod comes out if I am right or not you sneaky cheeky guys!!! ;-)

So if I read this and it looks like it is gonna be awesome, but the incentive thing is gonna be based kinda like the US Army Mod where with certain point you are able to get a new rig?
-
Hey guys... I decided to use the return to tec station to get rid of a load on the flat bed. When it was about to drop it off I got a CTD. Would you guys like the log file? Other than that awesome!
-
How is that an Ambulance!!! Are they running with Four paramedics now! You might as well call it a rescue.
-
I think I am missing the police bomb dude. Is anyone else missing this?
-
Sounds like you are doing something wrong. I got it to work And yep I get the no operator error when ever I try to rapid deploy the Tender. Great mod blw!!!
-
Normally if a water cannon is used it means that you are on a totally defensive attack and that the fire is way out of control. We only used them twice when I was on the department back home for the four years I was with it.
-
You mean can you "borrow" the model, remodel it and give original model credit to the owner.
-
Curious you didn't call in E3 or E2?
-
Hey man I gotta say I am absolutely floored by your mod. For the amount of work you did it is amazing!!! There are a few bugs that I have noticed that I am sure you are aware of but I am just gonna say them. I have noticed that there is some pathing issues. Emergency vehicles go in the opposite traffic or on side walks or just cut across the map all together. I am curious are you putting any more hydrants up by where the Emergency Vehicle Factory? I have had a few fires up there where it is really limited hydrant access. The K9 unit and SWAT truck sirens do not work. I am not sure if you didn't attach the sirens in the script file or not. Those were the main issues. I did have a questions though. In Hall 01... Is it all Career. I noticed that Engine 1 isn't staffed right off the bat and was confused with that. The same with Engine 2. Is Engine 03 getting replaced somewhere down the line. I thought I read somewhere that it was but I don't remember. Was it getting replaced with another Engine or were the Council thinking of going with a Ladder Truck. I know no where in the NFPA (that I know of) does it say that you have to have a Ladder truck for multi story buildings. But I do know that Fire Insurance does tend to go down if you have one. Thanks!!!
-
Yea... Usually what I do is just replace the whole ambulance. I vote getting the Ambulances out and putting in a Hazmat truck Read bottom... Riot Police Vehicle during the G20. More than likely not in inventory any more.
-
Appearantly lol... i had a fire where I had E1 E11 L1 S1 E2 L2 E3 L3 B1 and still took what seemed like forever for the fire to be put out lol. It was great though lol. I had to send E4 and E5 to another call because of the fire... I think I am gonna play some more now as well
-
Agreed. I believe the RCMP doesn't have one in their vehicle inventory. What they will do is borrow some fire hoses from a Local Fire Department and hook them up directly to a hydrant and use that IF they really think it is warranted. I very rarely use the truck in the game because I find it unrealistic for the north! Quick question, in the next version are you still going to have some BLS cars in FS1? And are you going to make it so we can call Paramedics so we can restaff the cars with the proper staffing at the Ambulance station? Can't wait to see the new version man I have been playing a lot lately!
