  1. It is a good idea, an idea that I and probably other modders have had. However implementing this as a mod will require significant scripting and modeling skills
  2. In freeplay there are no vents that require a crane, so no. The Tow Truck situation, as it currently stands, is the same tow as in LA. The one from the additional units I think. I will look into renovating the towing department though, but will need more references to vehicles that are tow trucks for other vehicles rather than just for buses.

  4. The ambience noise was collected by just playing GTA 4 with a microphone on, i took loads of sound and took the best ones. The one you heard is the downtown west ambience, it was a very busy and lively ambience, but someone happened to answer their phone right next to me. Might be a little bit repetitive, but its not something we're looking to change There will be no helicopters in Manhattan. Strictly no fly zone unfortunately, would cause issues with the skyscrapers.

  6. Nope that's the camera hack. Won't be included, needs to be manually created.

  8. Haha yeah I will do soon man got some ideas but yeah, for the past 3 days I've kept one long game of Em4 going, like hibernated my PC overnight. Been playing more than usual, more for fun rather than development So once I finish this game i'll load up the editor
  9. Yeah still need to master procaster, need to get optimum streaming. The lag is due to streaming, the game only ever lags for me if I have huge amounts of units on screen, with lights, and things running in the background like the Editor

  11. We had planned to, and I hope to add one, but as of yet no there isn't one. to the forums by the way. So yeah guys, there was a full hour of gameplay, besides the lag that was just a usual game for me, I even forgot people were watching. As you could see there is a huge traffic factor to account for in this mod, but response times are still fast so long as you use manual driving aids and block traffic appropriately. As mentioned on the facebook page, this weekend we're handing it over to NBVideoGameVids, he makes quite a few Youtube videos with commentary about Em4 mods. He'll be taking the full mod for a test drive exposing all the little bugs and full gameplay. Should be good, we're really looking forward to it! x

  14. You may have to set it up as hose placements like the USFS trucks, they are set up slightly differently, I dunno, weird you did most things I would have so.. hmm
  15. Understandable, I felt I had to apologize for the release date mixup. The honest behind the scenes answer is: we were ready to release. Then I said, wait what if we tweak this, and adjust this. A few weeks later we were half way through renovating the map and completely new Seagrave rigs. But yeah, this time it's fo' real We have one more surprise coming up, should show how close we really are Dyson x p.s. Thanks Voodoo sorry for 'inciting' any of this release nonesense
  16. -_- when people fail to check, your own ignorance is your downfall.. we released a rough release ETA. And lose faith? Go for it, a little less pressure would be nice, I know darn well I've invited pressure doing such a popular city, but screw it, I love NYC, FDNY and NYPD. So yeah.. And low and behold another impatient 12 year old, grow up and learn to wait. This isn't a 'we're not releasing' this is a we're releasing soon, once it's finished, here's some screens of what we're working on..
  17. Would be so much effort for very little reward in game. Plus I don't know how it'd hold up while you were driving. Would suggest using lighting techniques to simulate rotary.

  19. The map doesn't feature coastline but yeah there is a little bit of area in upper east of the map you may see that looks similar
  20. a) Had I not gone public I would not have got the help and support from members such as Rettungstier or Rafael, who has been resposible for the huge improvement in progress. b) Asking for a release date is against the ToS of the site, so I'm within my rights. c) I very rarely give ANYONE a hard time, but when I've already released a rough ETA I think I'm within my rights to get a little ticked off. Before you post.. Think - is it relevant/important/a reasonable contribution to the subject matter. These posts are all irrelevant, off topic and at worst pointless. I'm not acting as a Moderator here, just trying to avoid the waves of spam. So back on topic, just been re-working the map a little more. Most things wont be noticeable because I never showed the previous versions but just re-worked most of East side, adding projects, more traffic and some Downtown tweaks. x
  21. Well from the work that Rafael has started the basic free unity engine is more than enough to work with. The money cap is no issue we aren't working for the money. The copyright issue, I am from more of a music background, and that industry runs almost free copyright protection on a basic level, I'd be shocked to find out games, which are harder and more rarely copied, use a more expensive system. So there's my answers. Back to development. x
  22. Yes we did our research. It's based off an already developed game engine available free and they even assist with publishing, the only real issues will be copyrighted NYC objects. This will be (hopefully) a digital release.
