  1. Well, from behind the scenes I can give you a status update, I hope Emc doesn't mind. Models for the mod are pretty much complete, across PD, EMS and Fire. Scripts need tweaking still, fire house scripts and others for gameplay. The map (which is my responsibility) is around 40%, however I've mentioned to Emc that I wish to start over when I have more time. So in short, the mod isn't yet at the stage of completion, I believe if I had the time and dedication to work for 3-4 months straight on this project I could have it finished to a good standard, however finding the time between my studies and Manhattan Mod, is hard. However as soon as the Manhattan Mod v3 is complete, or we get a break for a while, this will be my priority. Hope this fully explains the current situation. x
  2. In a City like NYC, where response times are averaging 3-4 mins, waiting for an ambulance could take upwards of 10 minutes. Regardless of cost, the city, like most others too, aims for best and quickest response rather than a budget related one. There may be more into this, but as far as I know it's as simple as that. x
  3. Yes, but I think he meant specifically England/Wales area, which was correct and is slightly different to Scotland, in markings and vehicles. And extremely different to Ireland, which looks more like tanks than Police vehicles haha! x
  4. EMS - Cardiac Arrest - 8th Ave. E54 bls with EMS and EMS Supervisor on scene. PD assisting. x
  5. Well done, I figured it'd be easy. Yeah I chose this because one rolled through my small village doing about 70 going code 3, scared the be-jesus out of us all. Turns out some smack head had a kid hostage with a rifle (air-rifle, because y'know we wouldn't be daft enough to hand out real guns ). So yeah these guys turn up and bust down doors and all that jazz. Manchester Armed Response Unit, Greater Manchester Police, UK x
  6. My Uncle lives in Scotland, not been in years, but I was aware of the RAF bases yeah. Can't beat a Sea King x p.s. My challenge Country/Location/Purpose??
  7. Upload some pictures people might be interested haha x
  8. I skimmed through old topics, but most were atleast 2 years old. After recently purchasing my own collection I invite people to post their own, with photos etc, have some appreciation for the now closed down die-cast replicas. Being my first models, I was amazed by the level of detail, the little things like extendable legs and even how big they are, I wasn't sure what to expect with 1/64 scale! Well here's mine, going to upload some more photos later. I'm focusing just on the popular FDNY models, my favourite rigs around, with the exception of Chicago. - Ladder 43 - Ladder 26 - Squad 61 - Rescue 1 I'm hoping to get an old and new (Marauder II) seagrave engines too and hopefully a tower ladder. I hope to see some awesome pics and especially any kitbash edits you may have done, or even just seen x
  9. Probably hard coded my friend x
  10. Yes, originally created by Godra and adjusted and set up by us. Just credit both and use what you want. x
  11. Merry Christmas to all, and my PM's are available again now! x

  12. Merry Christmas From myself and Rafael, the Manhattan Modification Team. We've got loads of cool stuff coming in the last few days of 2012 and into 2013! x
  13. Each version is stand alone. Always has and will be.
  14. I had my PC hooked up, I edited the config to 1080p and it worked fine. Note however that if I use dual screen the resolution messed up, but if I used just the monitor it worked fine, perhaps try this? x
  15. The map is 100% to scale besides the addition of R1 which is in reality just off map, but we stuck it on There's 3 on map stations, Rescue 1, Midtown (E54 L4 B9) and Engine 65. We're also adding a precinct, but no hospital. This is more a simulator than a game, giving reduced unit choice and a larger map, more realistic to the actual FDNY response areas though. This means longer responses and a wider range of responses across midtown rather than just responding a few blocks over as seen in v2. Hope this answered all your questions. x
  16. Alright guys some good old fashioned screenshots. Today we want to show off to you, Engine 54, which has been re-worked since the previous version, so I believe is a good way of comparing our updating process from v2 to v3. Also we'd like to show off Bryant park, one of the many areas on map. Again to give an idea of what kind of map we're working towards. And finally a little gameplay, Engine 65 on scene of an EMS run, Paramedics have now taken the scene. We're really excited about the way v3 is turning out, so any feedback from the community is very much appreciated. x
  17. I think the developers felt their game (base em4) was overshadowed by mods, they wanted to release a vanilla only game to try to prove (em2012) which backfired with low sales and zero interest. I think they have reverted to ability to mod, accepting this is where their fan base lies. I think this said the development will be heavily focused on improving the game for modding capabilites, which if they do will have benefits for everyone, gamers, modders and the original developers alike. However if they fail to improve the game beyond em4's capabilities I doubt many will disregard numerous mods in favour of a recycled engine. So it's really up to them how successful the game is, they're gonna have to deliver something real good to draw people away from em4. x
  18. Amen, even firearm death relative to the population, the US still claims top prize
  19. Yeah I don't mean to personally attack your post, but there's a lot of blind ignorance by Americans when it comes to this discussion, no offence of course. People are too wrapped up in trying to keep firearms that they refuse to even consider the benefits of getting rid of them. Just know that this will happen again with guns bought legally on innocent victims. x
  20. A principle with a gun???? This is when discussing the right to bear arms gets stupid. What do you need to defend yourselves from? People with guns? WHO WOULDN'T HAVE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE if you outlawed firearms to citizens. I personally think there's no argument.
  21. I agreed with you, guns should be for cops only. But to allow the average citizen to own a gun is absurd.
  22. Just weighing in, I have to agree with Voodoo on this, stricter gun control is the bottom line here. To have laws that allow the average citizen to carry a deadly weapon is absurd. Leave weapons to the law enforcement professionals, I think the US invites these kind of attacks when you allow the use of firearms. I think the argument is very unbalanced. People claim that the use of firearms is needed to protect oneself, however fighting fire with fire does not seem a sensible idea. I'm guessing you're all familiar with escalation theory, it's something that is applicable in all countries. In the UK, where I'm from, I do not agree with the right for average police officers not to be able to carry firearms, but to allow the average person to do so would never be allowed, it's immoral, as stated above this creates a militia citizen. Our escalation does see some gun crime, however because guns are extremely hard to come across gun crime is rare and only seen in extreme crimes, in which Tactical units are deployed. Whereas in the US where any average person could have the ability to shoot a police officer dead, the escalation leads to semi-automatics or full on assault rifles, the likes of which are very rare in a lot of gun controlled nations. Personally I think it's absurd. On a side note, I was appalled to read this... http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/12/17/tennessee-pastor-mass-shootings-because-schools-teach-evolution-and-how-to-be-a-homo/ Just food for thought x
