Chicago is the same way. It is a lot of extra weigh that they don't need to carry. Chicago has a separate unit that just carry's scuba tanks. I think all North America fire departments are this way.

District 1 is downtown Chicago. Lake Michigan is on the east side of the city and the Chicago river goes threw the middle of downtown. If you did the whole CFD it would be over 150 units just engines and trucks. If you guys or anybody not from the USA that has questions about the CFD or the city of Chicago can go ahead and ask me since I am from Chicago. (pm me would be better so we don't spam up this topic)

Yea the squad r two units in one ( squad 1 has all the tools and squad 1a is a mini snorkels use in small places IE alleys) squads in Chicago = rescue trucks in New York. I think the haz-mats r about the same size as the rescue trucks in NY.

They said that it was going to cover district one. Which is downtown. Maybe they will have multiple maps like the ny mod will.

i guess it would be it is another 20 commands that could be added to the battalion chief window. it could probably be cut do to about 10 to 15 commands. R.I.T. Response would just have to change the scripting on the light force command on the la mod.

I think the fires should be more realistic ( la mod two engines can knock out a large building fire in like five minutes not realistic). All fires should follow this guide http://www.chicagofirevideo.com/info/chicago/response.html

FYI u mean sears tower which is now called the willis tower. the sears centre is a sporting event building on the north side of the city.

If you are going to do engines 42 house seeing how it is the district 1 headquarters. Officemax I would number it squad one cuz it covers the area of the mod and squad companies r two units. Squad 5 covers the southside of the city.

all of the units is pretty much just a matter of renumbering (two engine models are engine 42 and engine 4)(truck models would be truck 3 and tower 10)(ambos are all the same) (chief cars r either ford explorers or expeditions or Chevy Tahoe). i would probably just do battalion 1 coverage E8 house E 4 house and E5 house. any special units i.e. dive van or collapse truck can just be called off map.

have they said how many firehouse will be on the map? is every units house going to be on the map?

the front of the cabs r black between the grill and windows. just the ones with the extend cab i.e. engine 42 wow that's going to be a huge map.

I would love to help in some way (maybe research). I hope u guys stay with this mod cuz Chicago mods in the past a falling threw. P.S. I think iwolf might still be work on one at least he was a couple of months ago( hasn't updated his thread in a while).
