How is your project coming along?
-
I'm guessing that the setting is Maryland, but he's simply modifying the LA Mod freeplay map to fit how he wants things to look. That's my best guess, based on the Maryland State Troopers
-
I would like to **ahem** nobley volunteer to test these reskins for you. But on a more serious note, it's looking good. Looks like some hard work and effort went into making these units look as real as possible. Did you reskin the officers for the vehicles as well, or just left the originals from LA Mod in them?

releasing my Boston reskins (DLOAD LINK FIXED)
askjeeves replied to jgreene's topic in Submods [Not released]
I don't know if it's just my download, but I don't seem to have the model file for LAPD SUV that becomes the state police suv. It looked like a neat model, and I'd like to get it if I can. Thanks -
Hey Ale, just wondering how your projects are coming along.

LA Mod 4x4 w00ds Map v1 Submod Preview
askjeeves replied to Xplorer4x4's topic in Submods [Not released]
Hope you feel better Xplorer. -
Yes it does, don't use the installer, just copy and paste the files to the specified locations, then add the lines into some of the spec folders. there should be a .txt file in the download folder, that will give you the directions you need.

Hey Goog1967, I apologize if this suddenly appears on the wall 3 times or so, the forum is being silly today. Here's the link for 2 videos of the BCAS Charger, showing the lights they use. http://www.flickr.com/photos/34202075@N04/5144272295/in/set-72157612334247047/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/34202075@N04/5144279693/in/set-72157612334247047/ Also, what about reskinning one of the Tahoe's to a supervisor tahoe? I've put three links on the forum, showing an example of the truck, and it's lighting package. Me personally, I like the Tahoe that has the Blue band along the bottom of the doors, that says BCAS. It was only a test pattern, they ended up using the same pattern, minus the blue band. Sorry that they are all posted as links, but I couldn't post as pictures because the forum wouldn't allow me to post pictures from flickr.

I loaded NY Mod and everything worked fine for awhile, but now I've lost the wheels on the two ESU trucks, the pushbars from the front of both, and the lightbars from the medium truck and the bomb squad. Does anyone have any suggestion of what files I'm missing, so I can make these units complete again? Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Askjeeves

Can I make a suggestion about the BCAS Charger? Instead of using the EMS Charger as your basis, use the CHP one, because it has the pushbar on the front. All of the pictures that I've seen of BCAS chargers, have pushbars. They have their grill lights mounted on them, two on the front, and one on each side. Just a small comment, but the models you have already do look nice

When I first tried to download this, it didn't work, but it left me with the Amublance sirens. However I recently did some changes to my game and lost that siren, does anyone have a copy of it that I can get? I had it being used by a couple units ingame, but since that siren file doesn't exist on my computer anymore, they just have the button but no siren. Any help is appreciated.

Xplorer, you're right they are not part of ICE any longer. In 2009, President Obama transferred FPS, within DHS, to the National Programs and Protection Directorate, from ICE. So they are still part of DHS, but under a different parent organization than before. If you look closely at the badge on the side of the truck, you see ICE at the top, but beneath that is Federal Protective Service. Also the crest on the officer's shoulders is the same style as the FPS crests, they're just not clear enough to be able to tell for sure. This picture shows the trucks better But you're right, there are lots of units that could be added in game, using the FPS as the basis. Although I still like that CBP pickup truck that was being discussed.

The problem with trying to add ICE into the game (in my opinion) is that they have no marked vehicles that I have ever been able to find. They seem to drive predominantly unmarked vehicles, which would have them appearing in game like the ATF or the FBI, just riding around in unmarked cars, either in jackets saying ICE, or in tactical gear. If you really want something from the ICE family, that would be seen around LA, how about the Federal Protective Service? They're a subordinate organization of ICE, and are responsible for providing law enforcement and security to federal buildings.

Can I take a shot at it?
-
That would be a pretty cool truck, capable of carrying 4 agents and possibly 4 prisoners? Kind of halfway between a standard patrol car and the LASD Prisoner Transporter. Although from the pictures I've seen, the truck has a lightbar, similar to the Border Patrol Tahoe in the additional units submod. The lightbar is mounted on the top of the box at the front.
-
What about a CHP slicktop? We have one from LAPD, but CHP has both Crown Victorias and Dodge Chargers in slicktop format. It would be neat to get one in game, to add to the CHP collection.
-
Andrew, which units that you created worked? I was looking primarily at the Support Utility, the Division 3 Truck and chief, the Utility van and the dozer utility truck. Did any of these units work properly in game?
-
Ok, thanks for the info Xplorer4x4. I may see if I can PM him and ask if he's interested in rereleasing any of the models he has completed.
-
Andrew 2007, is there a new beta release available? If not, are there models from your original release which worked in game, that you wouldn't mind releasing as a taste of what else there is to come? Cheers...
-
I have noticed that some reskin models have recently been allowed to be released, case in point being the boston reskins. With this new change in policy, would you maybe be interested in releasing this model so we can use it in game? Also I've seen tactical ambulances in Canada. In Toronto, Toronto EMS has a fleet of Ambulances dedicated to special operations, such as Tactical Support, CBRN support and Critical Care transfers. The Tactical and CBRN trucks do normal call responses, but they also handle special calls. These ambulances look similar to the normal road ambulances, except they are wider, slightly longer and say "Tacticalmedics" or "CBRNmedics" as opposed to "Paramedics" on the side of the trucks.

cosres, just as an fyi, zmh3 says he deleted all the files from his computer and no longer has them anymore. So unfortunately neither of us can get copies of them.

Ok, thanks anyways.
