[RELEASED] Brooklyn "Borough of Fire" (BOF) Modification
askjeeves replied to rafaelmfernandez's topic in Mods
jrff64, you are correct about the red/white forwards facing. However, if you look at NYPD units, the back of the bar flashes blue, I think what you're seeing in the picture is this, and that EM4 has a difficult time duplicating exactly what real world lights look like, so we get a little bit of bleed forward. -
Going to agree with people. The truck itself looks awesome, as always you guys do great work. I prefer the capped version to the uncapped (and if people want the other, they can copy the fire skin onto the RCMP truck, and create it that way). However, I also agree with the rest, I prefer the traffic advisor on top of the cap, so you can have a brake light as well, rather than it mounted into the back of the cap. And I agree about that light bar, I've seen the triangle in real life, and still hasn't grown on me, I like either a normal lightbar, or the new Federal Signal Vision SLR (the old vector style bar, but updated to be rotating LED pods). That's just my two sense. On a separate note Goog, saw your FB post today about the tactical truck and the fictional Silverado version for the RCMP, I have picture of an older F250 unmarked, that I can only assume is for tactical uses with them, so I say go for the unmarked, so long as we get to keep the various unmarked and marked Suburbans. https://www.flickr.com/photos/61426268@N06/8204334715/in/pool-bcrcmp (since apparently the forum doesn't like Flickr URLs)

Ottawa Modification [COMPLETED] [PRIVATE MODIFICATION]
askjeeves replied to TravisRosborough's topic in Mods
Newer Tahoe's have black roofs, instead of the white one, not sure why. Here's a Tahoe that's gone to the all black roof http://www.flickr.com/photos/29164028@N00/5951917307/in/photolist-a4X8DV-7JkSgL-ifdgwS-9YEoQ2-9CoEL8-azw8ne-8unZaD-bBDCvr-8znLCj-cY4iMy-cEndQJ-7Bod76-aBk73Q-b1Wffp-cY4jH3-fSrNME-8K8G2W-8unYpi-7QqrV6-7DWqwJ-bacrnP-8gpoi7-bGhkcF-8YdyGm-c1npkw-dfcvUK-bfvjYB-8t7f7x-eiLDBQ-9qWuUM-7Bocmz-ee9DY3-fSrWYw-c6XWDb-aexU6B-bEnoNV-bacrWB-9vCqsr-8SeBi2-c7A6RQ-bacpEp-91RR7o-a5USkd-8qcHWD-bCw27F-c6XWB1-bacqTK-aBhg3H-888bKL-gwWz8a-ayC2xc -
Yes Goog, I'm still alive just haven't commented in awhile. Those units look really good, leave it to you guys to create amazing looking and well lit units. Question for you, I haven't seen the new Taurus' in action with the RCMP yet, did they actually get rid of the amber lights through the back window of the marked cruiser, and the ones in the side windows of the unmarked's?
-
I prefer the look of the new ones. It looks a little odd on the CV but it's nice to see something different than just straight black and white. As for it on the new Chargers, it looks perfect on them, and probably would work with most of the new cruisers, we're just not used to seeing it on Crown Vics. I like the new Charger you've made
-
Hey Guys, not to be 'that' person, but did you see the new paint scheme that South Coast Transport came out with for their cruisers? It replaces the black body/white door ones. http://policecanada.ca has pictures of it. Just thought I'd provide that updated information. Keep up the great work as always

Goog, something I noticed when watching the most recent video you guys posted. I don't think I've ever seen an econoline van with the turn signal/marker lights on the edge of the mirror, that seems to be fairly exclusive to the F-series Superduty's. Other than that it looks awesome, as do the new fire trucks

The Sprinters made into a Type III (box with van cab on van chassis) they'd be ok, but the Type II (Van) are a pain, anybody who's taller or bigger around won't fit very well into the back of them. As for Ford discontinuing the Econoline Van series, it will still be available for the next while as a gas engined cutaway van (cab, no body, used for ambulances, cube vans, etc). Diesel was discontinued in 2010, word on the street being because with the size of the engine compartment they couldn't fit a diesel engine meeting the new EPA requirements. The E-series' last production year is 2013, in the future it will be replaced by a full sized version of the Transit van with a diesel option. They will also be offering a cut away cab version of it for use with ambulances and the like. Hope this fills in a few of the gaps.

I know that during the G20 in Toronto, Toronto Court Services provided some paddy wagons to Toronto Police to transport larger numbers of detained to the temporary jail, instead of having to shuttle multiple cruisers back and forth with only 1-2 detainees at time. In Ontario, majority of our PT trucks are very minimally lit. Toronto's have 2 reds to the front and 2 at the back, at the top of the box. OPP seems to be a mix of Amber or Red, and seem to be adding grills now.

Couple things. One, the units look awesome, I like the variety in lighting and the attempt at realism you guys went with. I noticed the rear doors of the units change from the Type I truck to the Type III, reflecting the changes Demers has made with their newer type ones, with the full sized windows. Quick question about lighting though, should the F450 have fender intersection lights? I notice them on the Tahoe, the Chevs and the Sprinter, but not the 450. Accidental oversight or intentional?

Looks great guys, there has been some amazing stuff being posted by many different mods lately. A side note, going back to the comments on the new sprinter ambulances. The picture comparison is of the sprinter between two Crestline ambulances. Typically the Crestline trucks tend to be a bit smaller than Demers units are. I also know from personal experience, that that specific style of Crestline is significantly smaller inside than your typic Demers. That being said if the Sprinter is comparable in size to that specific truck in the pic, then the medics should be able to function inside. One of the biggest issues medics tend to have with the Type II trucks (raised roof vans) as opposed to the Type III (van chassis, aftermarket box) is that there are no outside storage cabinets, which means all equipment ends up being stuck/hung somewhere inside the truck, which is where you start to lose your space. It's really not the physical dimensions of the truck that make the difference, but where the cabinets are placed and what equipment can be moved out of the inside of the truck. Just a little note about ambulances. Looking forward to this mod, it's been a long time since I first started following it when the mod was first dreamt of as a submod, but still can't wait for the end result. Will be interesting to see the changes in the mod from the 'standard' EM4 game.

It looks nice, I'm glad you went with the lighting the back of the bar. I think it looks better with the whole bar lit up, instead of just the front

Anita, I'm sure they appreciate your offers, but I'm going to make a simple suggestion to you. Stop pestering them with your offer. They have already said no multiple times, and all you're starting to do now is annoy people. They have a moderator working on the project with them now, annoying mods is never a smart idea. Boss Cat does have the ability to warn, ban, suspend etc. Just a little friendly advice. On the other topics at hand, I've still seen those little red lights as a dash light in unmarked cruisers in Toronto. Not sure why they'd use that as flashing red to me means pull over, but nobody has ever said Toronto follows what the rest of the world does, we are our own little island in the sea that is Ontario, hated and scorned by all.

Hey Dyson, unable to play due to the graphics card issue, however just from opening stuff in the editor, you guys did an amazing job on this. The units looks awesome, great quality skins and awesome lighting. Keep up the good work

I figured it wouldn't take much, I just couldn't resist poking fun. I get myself in trouble at work because I'm an ass by nature. I had a codec pack that was running on my computer called CCCP. One of the options that it was trying to control, was flash videos. As soon as I disabled that option, the game would load without issue, so I guess that opening flash video was the issue.
