  1. The whole point of the standby commands are to position units to be called by the BC. If the BC can't call the units you might as well have them patrol instead of just sitting somewhere on standby.
  2. I think they just call them engines. The CAD system knows which engines are assessment so there's no need to call them assessment engines over the radio.

  5. Nope, 1.7 brought in the new EMS system. 1.8 brought in the heavy rescue and 1.9 brought in the new map. Suprisingly, the mod was actually highly unrealistic until version 1.6 or so. 1.6 brought in red steady burns, the old (current) sirens, and the FBI units. 1.6 was really the first version MikesPhotos had any influence on.
  6. It does say New York. I don't know why it doesn't say California. @ Xplorer, I think the medical examinors and the coroner are one and the same. http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikesphotos_us/3739674637/sizes/l/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikesphotos_us/3739661725/sizes/l/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikesphotos_us/3740489314/sizes/l/in/photostream/
  7. This guide needs to be updated. The new water tenders are now in service. http://www.flickr.co...57624717019116/ I imagine they probably got rid of old WT 77 and kept old WT 88 as a reserve since it has a 4000 gallon tank.
  8. You need to assign the commands in the editor.
  9. I think the reserve was only moved because VNY only has two crash rigs whereas LAX has four so it's more important that the reserve be available at VNY because of the limited apparatus to begin with.
  10. LAFD doesn't use F-series RAs FYI.
  11. My guess is that it'll be a long shot, as the LA mod will have to be redone almost from scratch.
  12. Actually station 95 has a paramedic RA instead of a assessment engine I think they moved the reserve crash tender up to station 114 at the van nuys airport.
  13. The EM4 equipment has to be removed in the editor. The unit.xml file only modifies the the equipment shown in the calling menu. The LA mod equipment requires scripting changes. As for calling units, just make sure the VO is large enough for the tiller in the editor. The script calls whatever is in the VO, and if the tiller doesn't fit it won't work.
  14. It was fixed in a patch back in 1.8 or 1.9.
  15. That's incorrect. A USAR always rolls with the task force in their station. Someone from the TF will drive the USAR to the scene in addition to the TF responding. The whole station is USAR certified. Tge only excption to this is USAR 88, which will still respond with the TF but is staffed with two firefighters 24/7. As you can see in the photoset here, both TF 89 and USAR 89 are on the scene. HAZMAT squads are slightly different, since they'll respond to regular structure fires and such. The entire station is HAZMAT certified, but the squad (with the exception of squad 95) is staffed with four firefighters in addition to the other units at the station. For HAZMAT responses the squad will usually roll with the TF, but for structure fires and such the squad will respond alone. I recently came across a post on emtbravowest.com stating that all of B13's engines are assessment (due to the high call volume), so apparantly task force some task force engines are assessment, but only the ones in south LA.
  16. Yeah, they're real strict on brush clearance in the LA area.
  17. I do. I run the ALS RAs with just a stretcher team. If I need to, I'll drop the stretcher and grab the EMT bag but those occasions are few and far between.
  18. Structure fire: Closest task force and RA. Additional resources as needed. Car accident: Closest task force and RAs as needed. USAR and heavy rescue if accident is bad. Gas explosion: Closest task force plus engine and RA. Additional resources as needed. Brush fire: Two closest engines, one brush patrol and one RA. Additional brush patrols and engines as needed. HAZMAT: Response as normal depending on type of incident plus HAZMAT squad and additional RA and engine. Medical: Closest ALS resource and BLS RA. Hostage: Two closest patrol units plus SWAT. ALS resource staged. Rabid dog. Two closest patrol units. RAs as needed.
