A mystery that needs to be solved
billyfromhill replied to Voodoo_Operator's topic in Modding Related Support
Here is it right side up and with better color. It's definitly some sort of fire truck. It has the Vector lightbar so I don't think is related to the LA mod. There's also two firefighters in the picture also. The blue/green color probably is really red seeing as most of the domes on the lightbar are the same color. The picture was also taken in the editor. It could be the Chicago FD because they have the black over red paint scheme and they use the Vector lightbar. EDIT: I think it's Chicago. Compare the paint scheme and lightbar and side logo to the pic below. -
Hoppah, for 2.0 can you make a small change to the command to call a light force so that the engine is always following the truck? I think all that would have to be done is to increase the timer for the departure of the engine so that it leaves the station a split second after the truck. In MikesPhotos' LAFD guide he says the the engine always follows the truck so that they can spot the truck in an optimal position. This change would make sense then.

I'm sure some boards from Gigabyte and MSI work perfectly fine and with no problems. If you are all ready to swap boards, then go for it. If you want more SATA connectors a PCIe RAID card would be better than a whole new board. Not to mention then you're channeling all the data through the northbridge rather than the southbridge. The southbride can only handle so much.

I've never used Gigabyte products. In my experience those more budget companies (MSI, Gigabyte, Zotec, and to a certain extent Asus), have all sorts of gimmicky features and utilities that "supposedly" do the overclocking and everything else for you. I really prefer boards from EVGA, XFX and BFG that don't have all of those features. I just had a not so great experience with a P55 board from MSI. Their automatic overclocking feature somehow got turned on so it clocked my i5 processor to 3.5 GHz. I kept getting BSODs whenever I would try to install the OS. The overclocking feature obiously didn't work because the overclock wasn't stable. If you do keep the board and get new RAM, keep in mind that with DDR3 lower timings are usually better then faster speed.

No, please don't change it. I don't like a full firehouse. Upload a new one or something but don't remove the current one.

How did that happen?

A Guide to the LAFD and assisting agencies....

Thanks a lot. -
Faster/newer hard drives will also help.

I don't think LAFD has the unit on the back of the jacket, just the name.
-
Well there we go. I was wrong. Also, would the LAFD utility van really carry hose? Another thing, will SU-2 have its proper markings? Right now it says its unit 571 or something like that.
-
I've always thought it would be cool if there was some way there could be a swift water rescue guy. He could run on land and swim, but he couldn't dive. LAFD has divers on their fireboats, not based in stations.
-
Here's a pic And here's another one. Also, I think the SWAT heavy rescue ingame really isn't used by SWAT. I believe it's bomb squad only.
-
I've never seen that either with 1.9.3 and the additional units submod 1.0
-
So the officer can't redirect traffic or arrest people then?
-
lol, I love the pouring rain in the desert in LA.
-
From my understanding this submod was only to prevent Voodoo's models from going to waste.
-
Will the K9 handler have the option to get the dog out of the car (sort of like the bomb robot), or will the officer automatically get the dog when he exits the vehicle (like the SAR dog)? Also, the LAPD Chevy Impala in the additional units submod has the same roof number as the K9 vehicle, 108.

Post up a screenshot.

He has said he likes American emergency services and vehicles better than Dutch ones. As for why choosing LA, I don't know.

[EM4] Los Angeles Mod bugs, issues and problems
billyfromhill replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod
Damn, I played that one three missions before I noticed the LA missions were gone. It looks like that mission is the cause of the problem. -

This happened to me also. I noticed it after I stopped playing the bridge collapse mission. Just before the bridge collapse mission I had failed the hi-jack mission. I think it might have something to do with failing a mission. -
Is this submod based on real vehicles?
-
I believe he has an XFX GTX 260, but its the older 65nm version with only 192 shaders. He used to have an 8800 GT but it broke.
-
No, it's quite the opposite in fact. See this post for more info.

Last time I tried changing vehicles in the stations was back in 1.6 and the battalion chief script didn't need changing. I don't know about now because of the standby commands and such now. I don't know how it'll work though since you'll have a USAR squad in each station. Most likely the command "call USAR" will dispatch the USAR in FS1. the command "call a HAZMAT will most likely call a USAR from FS2. If you wanted to call the closest USAR then you'll need to edit the battalion chief script.
