  1. Well, the PS3 has better graphics. It's video chip is built around the Nvidia NV47 (GeForce 7800) chip, while the Xbox 260 uses the ATI R500 chip, which is the precursor to the ATI R600 (Radeon HD 2000/3000 series) chip. Hands down PC has the best graphics though. Any PC with a 8800 GT or better will have better graphics.
  2. Well, according to section 12 of this LAFD training bulletin, the foam tender should be supplied with two 4" lines at the minimum. Keep in mind the LAFD foam tenders don't carry water or pumps. Section 2 states that the foam tenders can discharge up to 4000 GPM. Now each LAFD engine can pump 1500 GPM max, so in order for the foam tender to discharge it's 4000 GPM, three engines would be required. Furthermore, section 13 says that if a foam tender is needed, at least two should be requested. Now I understand that there are few situations where you would need 4000 GPM from at least two foam tenders, but I wouldn't think it would be uncommon to see two engines supplying each foam tender. @ Hoppah, looks great! Are there any other vehicles that don't have an accurate roof (or any part for that matter)? I see you chose to omit the white middle section of the lightbar. Also, are you going to add lights to the side of the engines and the battalion chief SUV where the reflectors are modeled but there is no light?
  3. Well, if you use the light force command a truck and an engine will be called.
  4. You mean left turn? I see what you mean. The lane with the white care should only let cars make right turns. The lane with the tan car should only let cars make left turns. Cars should not be turning across traffic like that. You might want to check each intersection for the same problem.

  6. Well it doesn't matter because Hoppah has said limiting the water will only cause frustration. Also, Hoppah, are you going to change the roof of the Pierce heavy rescue also now?
  7. There wouldn't be a water supply with a set amount of water exactly. Instead in order to connect discharge hoses and use the deck guns on the foam tender it would have to be connected to two or three engines. It would still have an unlimited amount of water, because it's impossible to have a limited water supply. I think it was the London mod that was able to connect engines to hydrants and such.
  8. Most likely not because the old model was inaccurate. It's not like the new SWR truck that replaced the motorboat, it's only a change to the model. The old foam tender might make it to the Additional Units Submod but don't count on it by any means.
  9. Hey Mike, I was watching some videos on YouTube and I noticed there's an RA 265 in the LAFD. Is RA 265 some sort of special assignment or something because that seems to be a wierd number for an RA from what I can tell. Also, how accurate is this directory of LAFD stations? It seems to be a little old so is there a new one somewhere? http://lafd.org/fsdirectory.pdf Edit: I found a newer directory from 2006. Is there a even newer one somewhere? http://www.joinlafd.org/Telephone%20Directory.pdf
  10. Well, according to section II of this LAFD training manual, the foam tenders don't even have a pump or a water tank. Maybe the foam tender could be reworked in the future so that it has to be attached to one or two engines in order to supply water to the two deck guns and four hoses. The hoses would have the same power as a regular hose, but maybe the deck guns could have the power equal to or exceeding the tiller to reflect the real life operation of the foam tenders.
  11. Great. When you release a new script can you release one that doesn't have the fire station full?
  12. Looks nice. The double deck guns would make the foam tender unique in its role as a high capicity engine, especially since the manual says it has a "powerfull watercannon". Additionally, what are the different extingushing values for each engine, the foam tender, the tiller, the hose, and the fire extingusher?
  13. You know, I think Division 3 is in a new Chevy Suburban. http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikesphotos_us/3534264260/
  14. Hoppah, have you ever thought about adding the new SWR truck to FS1? It would be parked out back like the battalion chief SUV. I think it would be cool (and realistic seeing as the port and the LA river is close to FS1 ingame) because it would turn FS1 into a station sort of like station 88 in LA. I understand that this would require a slight change to the map as well as adding to the fire station scripts (you could even add a command to the BC to call SWR), so maybe this would be better for version 2.1 or something.
  15. Are you going to fix the roof numbers on the LAPD Impala and the LAPD K-9 Crown Vic?
  16. Thanks. Have you considered preventing the new boat from moving when there is nobody in it?
  17. Hoppah, how many people can the SWR truck carry and what equipment is on board?
  18. Will there be a script that replaces the tower in FS1 with the tiller? The current script in the alterations sectopn won't exactly work because of the new command for the fire stations. Also, if you do decide to make and release a script for the tiller, will FS1 be fully staffed with four engines and three RAs? I would rather have the partial staffing as opposed to a full station. Maybe you could release two scripts, one for a partially filled station and one wit ha full station.
  19. Nice! How much voltage did you have to give it and what kind of CPU cooler do you have? You know if you want to overclock you'll have to turn all that power saving and overheat protection off. The last thing you want happening is the board lowering the voltage on your overclock.
  20. I find it hard to believe my Core 2 Quad Q9300 overclocked to 3.4 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, and an overclocked GTX 260 is having problems playing the game.
  21. I would think all you would have to do is increase the timer on the engine so that it leaves 3-4 seconds later than the current value, so its not following in the trailer.
  22. Great! One question. Are the fire stations scripts unchanged from 1.9.3? It would be nice if they were the same so I can just copy and paste my current edited scripts that have the tiller in FS1. A suggestion. The timers for the light force to leave the station when the BC or EMS captain calls them are too short if you have the tiller in FS1. The engine ends up driving inside the trailer of the tiller since trailers have no physics. The engine should always be following the truck anyways because tha's what MikesPhotos said in his guide.
  23. That's a common problem. My computer is even better that yours and my game lags slightly when a unit is selected. The only thing in the LA mod I can think of that could be causing this is that the daylight gradient was changed in 1.7. Try another mod (or play with the original units) and see if you get the same problem and report back here.
