Los Angeles Mod bugs, issues and problems
billyfromhill replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod
The brake lights on the engines are slightly off. The large light directly above or directly below the traffic advisor should be a brake light as you can see in the photo. -
Did you ever recover the files or were they lost?
-
The firehawk is LA county though. They do use it for medevac and helitac I think.

Will we be seeing a Bell 412 as a replacement for the air ambulance in version 2.3 or something? I ask because you've been slowly replacing all the original helicopters in the mod with real units. The air ambulance is the only one left now still with the original model.
-
You need to go into the editor and change the name of VO_HAZMAT at FS2 to VO_ENGINE06. The reason nothing is showing up there is because the script is trying to spawn the engine at VO_ENGINE06, but there is no VO_ENGINE06 on the map.
-
Dang. Does that mean we won't see a Bell 412 as a replacement for the current LAFD air ambulance?

Edit its unit.xml file.

Wow, good job. Are those the real helicopters used by those three agencies? THe LAPD one looks a little odd. Will there be bug fixes included in the patch?
-
How about you put the code boxes in the first post like I suggested? http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?/topic/10894-idea-for-intercompatibility-between-submods/

I have a question. Shouldn't the battalion chief call the division chief instead of the other way around? The battalion chief responds first with the initial assignment and then requests additional units along with the division chief if needed.

I don't how it would work if the trailer has the command and the cab has the move command. I'll have to test it sometimes.
-
The term "takes delivery", means that the company or organization that ordered the vehicles receives them to start using them. The vehicles are "delivered" by the manufacturer, and the company that orders them "takes" them. The redirect command only redirects vehicles when you click the command to activate it. None of the vehicles with the redirect command redirect vehicles while moving.

Excuse me, but if you did a shread of research you would find that the shootdown of Iran Air flight 655 took place in 1988, during the Iran-Iraq War. The USS Vincennes thought it was an Iranian F-14. Now the only two operators of the F-14 at the time was the U.S. and, you guessed it, Iran.
-
I said "once LAFD takes delivery". The uninstalled trailer has no commands, it was designed like that for a reason.
-
Hoppah will you be adding the new KME engines to the mod once LAFD takes delivery?
-
It's possible, but it requires a ton of script editing and editor work. You need to place all sorts of virtual objects and reference them in the various firestation scripts. @ picicch, it would most likely be an assessment engine or a light force, an RA, possibly a brush patrol and maybe the EMS captain.

All I play is the radio.

Minus the ladder.

Since when is LACoFD EMS the same a LAFD EMS? I thought county contracted with private companies and city does it in-house?

In regards to the broken laptop most likely the hard drive is still functioning properly. If you can take the hard drive out of the computer and connect it to another computer you may be able to get data off of it. I had to do that once but all the data was corruppted so I had to use a file recovery program.
-
It really has nothing to do with the physics of the trailer. The redirect virtual object spawns behind the cab of the vehicle, which is inside the trailer. We need the VO to spawn behind the trailer.

In order to get the jaws of life I think all you would have to do is add the command to the respective units in the editor. Using a stretcher might be a little harder as Hoppah made the script. It may only apply to firefighters. In order to add the MP5 to different you have to edit the "getMP5" script. Make sure to equip the vehicle with flashbangs also as the script checks for that. @ DuxburyFD, any of the LA mod equipment (MP5, M4, flares, cones, etc. etc.) is not assigned in the editor, but rather in a script. Only the EM4 equipment (axe, hose, flashbang, etc. etc.) is assigned in the editor.

Guess the Emergency Vehicle Challenge

Sirus is correct. Right click on the photo and select properties. You can see clearly see in the URL of the image where it's from. -
I've done a little more research and I've discovered that all the personnel at a firestation with a squad are HAZMAT trained. So in essence, if a firefighter has a 4, 48, 87, or 95 on his helmet you know they're HAZMAT certified. The reverse of the paramedic is a possibility but not perfect. I've seen photos of LAFD firefighters fighting fires with only the jacket on but I've never seen them with just the pants (except for a medical run). Currently the firefighters in the mod have an abundance of numbers on their helmets. The firefighters and paramedics have 101 on their helmets, but station 101 is way down by the port of LA. The battalion chief and EMS captain are from battalion 1 but battalion 1 covers downtown LA. If and when I edit the firefighter skin, I'll most likely change the 101 to a 4 because squad 4 is in the squad in the game.
