Ok man, I am going to need more info on what you are exactly trying to do. Be more specific please -
Help about the sound of trucks.
helljumper51 replied to Steven Dang's topic in Modding Related Support
You can do it different ways. You can use a script where it activates the sound file when you press a button . Or you can alter the sound file using an audio editor and put the start engine sound before the siren Or you can fiND the move command script and add the sound activation there. -
Can you provide more information? Cheers, Helljumper

Different link please -
For people having problems with graphics it is mostly because of software limited issues. I have a Radeon 290x. I lag with this mod. It is because of the amount of lights. Lights are great but in a mod lighting is an art form. If the modern would decrease the amount of radiation and polygons that the lights create with the coronal then it would help. In general if you go over 100 coronal or lights on a model it will lag the game.

So i have been thinking of this. I noticed since hoppah released his mod for public use, there sprouted alot of new mods. The majority use the la mod models. There are a few where they use their own they made but the majority use models from other people or other mods. Now i want to know what you all think about this. In my opinion i wish more people would make the effort to use new models and learn. Its not like making scripts which is pointless. There is only a few ways to make a script but you could have hundreds of different models. Plus it is what you see and what you interact with the majority of the game. I feel it also helps you immerse in the mod. Why should i play a mod that just uses la models and the la map when i can iust play the la mod? What do you all think?

so Consensus is lose the cul de sac. I will think of something to put there. Probably just a dead end street.

Hey all. Here is a quick new map I put together. I had a more rural Northeastern US plan in mind for it. I was trying to figure out how best to make the map FEEL rural and also less european than the freeplay map. I am open for import and comments! George County:

So I created an Open house. Walls, floor, roof, etc. I added each of them into their own respective folders in the mod file. I made a prototype ingame in the Open Houses area. I edited the prototype and everything inside of it. I loaded up the game again the other day and it said it was missing the prototype I created for the open house. Upon further investigation the prototype seems to disappear everytime I close the editor and open it up. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Basically with the editor, yes it can be confusing but once it is used a bit it will allow modders to change way more options. I played around with it for a little bit and I found that creating lights(yes you can do it) and changing things on vehicles is much easier and a hell of a lot faster. Plus for the lights there is even a little option to change the color by using a color palete instead of messing with values.

This is not his official statement but I have been told from very reliable sources that he is done with modding pretty much. He is finishing an unannounced project with his friends on here and then he is done

Thats what I thought. I recognized C++ coding style in the scripts but I wasnt sure if someone with more knowledge of it knew more. They just made their own libraries.

Hey All, Does anyone happen to know the game engine or any specifics with coding for EM4? Like is it C# or C++ or the unity game engine etc...

What program do you use to showcase your models?

A good UV Mapping and basic model Program
helljumper51 replied to helljumper51's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
I hate z2 for uv mapping. I am using this program and it is much easier. I have not had issues yet. -
I already started modding for this one. Make models and such. My sojrces tell me it can handle upwards of 15k polys on a vehicle and scripting is still in c+ but there is a script editor in the main editor. And you can test it in the editor before you load the game

all you need for it to work with EM4 is to make sure it exports to a .v30. -
A good UV Mapping and basic model Program
helljumper51 replied to helljumper51's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
I can make a tutorial or video on how to model/uv map if there is a desire for one -
Hey all. I personally use a copy of 3ds max to model, but UV mapping is a nightmare. I found a program finally other than zmodeler that allows us to UV map with ease. It is called Ultimate Unrwap 3d pro. It is sthe same price as zmodeler and is way easier to use. I have been playing with it for about an hour and I have already made a full texture, which used to take me about 5 hours. -Helljumper

Also a little teaser:

So I the OBJ file will be able to handle the UV mapping I give it?

grrr. I have my 3ds max and zmodelor ready.......I am so excited to get back into modding
