  2. It's been slow going for progress from me. I've sadly, not been able to do very much. This is one of the 87-89 Mack Pumpers, early WIP. More to come in the future, but I make no promises.

  3. Ever since playing GTA3, I always interested in this kind of helicopter. I didn't think I'd be able to make one but it did get done. More variations to come in the future. This asset will also see action in LA.

  4. Sadly the forum has an attachment limit. It wont let me, you or anyone else have more than 100mb I believe. I can easily cross 10mb per post, just by the amount of images I upload. Regardless, I bring good news. The spermCopter is complete, and I have both body variations made.

  6. You know something, dude? I used to really look up to you. Out of the thousands of hours I've invested into this game, I'd reckon at least 15% of that was in your submod. It's been among my favorites since before I could even fathom the idea of making my own mods. As a matter of fact, the very first version of Hill Street Blues was made as just a little edit of your submod to kill some time during quarantine. I often return to your submod when I just wanna play the game without thinking about development or anything. So, it really hurts me that you have such little faith in our project. I can only home that we can prove you wrong when the mod is done.

  7. It's been a while. First thing I can say is that we've been gifted new spec found. MotoStringer got us a new McCormick ambulance variation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW1o6nyKWko This guy is legit as hell, if you're interested in these retro tapes, give him a sub. Another update is progress is coming really slowly. Recently, I began to texture the civilian vehicles and vehicle bases for additional units. This one's special - I've been meaning to get one made to replace the Jeep model we already have. Texture and miscellaneous parts by Yankee43. He did a great job and I hope you guys can give him some love too. With all this in mind, I'll cut back the traffic set even more. I'm not really getting as far as I want to with progress. I'll revert back to my original concept of replacing only the bare minimum, or else I'll never complete these assets, at the current rate of work.

  8. Just popping in to greet everyone Happy New Year and a belated Merry Christmas. Unfortunately I don't have any updates as of late. Regardless, thank you all for supporting this submod. I appreciate the research and crowdsourcing of information.

  9. Folks, I’ve got a project here I’m very excited to share with you all. Just about two years in the making, in quiet group chats and google drives, I am very happy to officially announce Project NYstalgia, a mod themed around New York City circa 1993. If you’ve followed me around on Discord since 2021, you might recognize this as “that private edit I was messing around with.” Well, since then it’s been torn down and rebuilt more times than I’ve bothered to keep count of. A few times, I even got damn close to shelving the whole project. But, I get by with a little help from my friends, who have pestered me and made sure that this mod stays in my head. There are many people to be mentioned, but I need to give a particular thanks to @mercurygrandmarquis1 and @Jules617 have provided invaluable research assistance, @Newfoundking has taken some of the load off my shoulders with lighting, and @itchboy has provided a majority of the models. This project is to blame for why Edgewater and Hill Street Blues have gone belly up recently. My focus will bounce back to those, eventually, but I’d like to see this through all the way. When will it be released? When it’s done. When will it be done? When I say so. Anyway, enough of me yapping. You all want screenshots. NYPD Caprices and Econoline van. 13. Good news, I have begun constructing the helicopters/air assets for this mod. This will sit unfinished for a while. I don't have the motivation to continue beyond what I have at the moment. This was quite a challenge to make in the first place. I have this unfinished model, that I will now nickname as the "Spermcopter"

I'll have to model one of these someday. I'm also still working on this mod, but my contributions have been very minimal as of late.

  20. Hello gents! I hope everything is well for you. I just wanted to drop a quick post to apologize for both the very slow progress on the sub-mod and my absence. During the last three months or so, I've been fully committed to learning C# and SQL coding for a (hopefully) new job, which has been taking up a significant chunk of my free time. As a result, I haven't been able to dedicate as much time as I would love to this project. Rest assured, tho, that I haven't forgotten about it. I'm still working on it albeit at a slower pace. I appreciate your patience and understanding. Until next time, gents! - LibertyWings

  24. Hello to all! I am very excited to finally showcase a project that I have been working on for a little while. Currently, I only have some models done, at least 2 for each service so far. Without further adieu, I'll get right into it... BACKGROUND: This mod will be a 1:1 replacement of vanilla Emergency 4, it is designed to be a re-imagining of the base game if it had been based in the United States. For this reason, there is no city name, and agencies will be generically referred to as "Fire Department", "EMS", "Police" and "TEC". Just like in the base game, units are not numbered. There is the fire engine, police car, ambulance, etc. I really want to recreate that vanilla game feeling, with new assets and quality of life scripts. I plan on including basic LA mod scripts like controllable lighting and sirens, chase script, and maybe a few more. Again, I want to preserve the vanilla game aspect while brining it up to current times. This project will also serve to improve my modding skills in the hopes of me carrying out more complicated projects in the future. MAP: Keeping in touch with the base game, I plan on utilizing the vanilla deluxe map. I have a plethora of Americanized changes that I want to make to the map, but those will come in the future. Do not expect a brand new map, as that is not the point of this. THE FUTURE: With the core set of vehicles done, my next steps will be to get what I have into the game, ensure it all functions well, and then continue working on models. Once models are done, map modifications will be made and script implementation will occur, which will hopefully lead up to a release. The main part everyone wants to know about... As with other content creators, making mods for this game is not my #1 priority in life. I live a busy life, and this is a hobby for me. I do not have a release date or window, it may be a year, who knows. I still have lots to learn, but I hope you all will join me along this for this journey. EM4 has been a part of my life for probably a decade now, and I am glad to contribute to the community in any way that I can. Just please be mindful that I am busy, I play other games, do things in life outside of this, and I do this for fun. It will come out when it comes out, and for now I can give you this eye candy. I hope to excite and inspire you all, I do not know when the next updates will be, but you will surely see them here. Questions and constructive criticism are highly encouraged. Thank you for reading and more to come! -Yankee43 Police Units: EMS: Fire Department: TEC:

  25. Hey everyone. I want to take the time to introduce myself. Ive been a member on EMP since 2007, Longer than most of you have been alive. But I wouldn't say I'm an active poster until now. I am the primary researcher for the NYPD and EMS side of this mod as well as doing some of the skins for the vehicles. Aside from being a member of the mod team here I have been a first responder in NYC for many years. I am also in the process of restoring several police cars and I collect and restore vintage emergency lights and sirens some of my collection may make it into the mod. If anyone has any questions about NYC police or EMS vehicles from the 70s to now feel free to ask in this thread!

  31. I'm sorry guys, it had to be done. It's hideous, pitiful but it's history. I look forward to all the laughs this thing will give you when it's ingame, equipped and ready to drive. Now here's something more macho. It turns out there's no less than 6 variations of this Ford ambulance that NYC*EMS used. I'll try to make as many of them as I can. The other team members will be doing livery work on this, unless there's any takers looking to help. All work in this post is by me.

  32. Good evening everyone! Another small update from yours truly! As you can see below, I did some adjustments on the police's HQ. Nobody would want to see that big "LAPD" while running around with your GCPD patrol cars, am I right? So, away with LA and welcome to Gotham! The HQ now has a grittier, darker skin, much more akin with the classic Chicago/New York look that Gotham City has. I've even re-done both doors and floor textures based on those from Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight's GCPD Building as you can see in the references down below. So, that's about it for now! We'll keep in touch and stay tuned for more!

  33. Hello boys and girls! No time no see, am I right? First of all, I apologize for all this months of absolute radio silence, but still I hope all of you had a wonderful start for this 2024 even if the actual state of the world is all but a shit show. Buuuut, I'm not going to talk about that, not a all. What am I going to talk to is about a playable - and hope stable - Alpha Version of the submod. Oh yes! You heard that right! Since most of the basic PIs are done, I might give you something to play on while I keep working on the beta version. Be mindful tho: my life's been quite... difficult to put it simple and all these months have been quite a challenge for me, so don't expect any regular updates. Also, periodically I might put this on hiatus because, well, RL hitting like a semi-truck full of big ahh lead pipes is still a thing rn, and the next few months I'll have even more shit to deal with. Nevertheless, as I said earlier in the thread, I WILL deliver, I'm only asking for more patience from you, really. Again, sorry if it seemed that I left for good, but new year new me, I guess? I'll deliver. You can count on that. Until next time, mates!

  34. I don't really have anything new at the moment but here's some unfinished civ vehicles that were textured late last year. I'll try to focus on making playable vehicles again. I think we've got enough NPC cars already. On another positive note, this image of the LAFD SWR van has surfaced.

  35. My friend, I wish there was. As it turns out, pledging to yourself to overhaul the entire mod takes quite a bit of time, especially when your mind drifts to other projects during the process. All I can truly say is that patience will be rewarded.

  36. That's actually a fairly quick fix, just take a look at the first post. You're loading the freeplay map, you need to open singleplayer. This mod does not use Multiplayer. It only uses the missionscript freeplay simulator.

  39. One more small little thing to showcase, some civ spec stuff that may appear in the mod. This GMC Yukon was edited from my Tahoe with the help of Itchyboy. Also, today we remember the nearly 3,000 souls that perished on this horrific day 23 years ago. I hope that in today's world of uncertainty, turmoil, and worry, we can come together as a community and mourn those we have lost and continue to lose. More than 7,000 American troops gave their lives in the resulting wars, perishing in the defense of freedom and safety for all around the world. Tens of thousands more would be injured, and we continue to lose many to suicide and illness. The 9/11 attacks may have now been 23 years ago, but it's effects are felt every single day. Many of us here may have been around on that day, and many of us not, regardless we owe it to those who have sacrificed so that we can be here today. Have a blessed day everyone, take some time out of your day to call your family or a friend, you never know what will happen tomorrow. We will Never Forget.

  40. Itch and his teams got both Montana and Project Nostalgia to full releases, and are now working on additional versions to add more content such as civil cars and helicopters for Nostalgia. Personally I can live with the minor bugs that exist like the vehicles in Project Nostalgia disappearing in campaign missions when you use a water cannon, when the fix will eventually come with even more content. As for this project, CanadianFrog is working on Edgewater, Hill Street Blues, and NYStalgia at the same time. They'll get released when they get released and this is a community that can wait. Hell it took almost ten years to release the full version of Miami didn't it, nobody complained when it came out a fully polished product with an original map, functioning surfboards, etc.

  41. It likely depends on the scenario. Often for EMTs or Paramedics to pronounce they're supposed to call medical control (a doctor somewhere) first. However there's exceptions for places with bad communications or if you can't reach medical control for other reason. Often the protocol is written like "for medical arrests terminate after 30 min or 3 consecutive 'No shocks advised' from an AED". And as stated above most protocols allow for CPR to not be initiated (which is tantamount to pronouncement if there's obvious signs of death such as lividity or traumatic injuries incompatible with life. The reason you're not finding it when looking it up is that such specifics aren't at the state level, they're at the individual service/medical director level.

  42. Todays NYstalgia Spec post. Very few 1991 caprices were purchased by the NYPD and they were bought in two batches. The first batch of 1991 Caprices had the same striping from the original 1973 design. The second batch introduced the NYC POLICE livery which was used until 1993 with some variations through the 3 years

  46. Congrats on starting your first mod and getting into the skillset of modding! Youre doing something that many people try to do but ultimately they dont get off the ground! Dont fret though! Were a community that is here to help! Unfortunately, that help is limited, so Im going to share my best advice after modding for many years and being in the community since 2007.... My first big piece of advice, there are hundreds of posts sharing a mod and asking for help from modders on the forums and only a handful of modders that are even around. Ive been here since 2007 and this has ALWAYS been the case. Making a post like this probably wont garner much help, especially because the mod design you have, MOST LIKELY, is kind of the same as many others except for the models. If you want to try to recruit people to help, try pitching an idea or concept that HASNT been done before or submit a mod idea that is different from whats out there. SO MANY mod posts are made for submods and mods that just change models and skins of vehicles and maybe add some sirens. THIS IS NOT WHAT MAKES A GOOD MOD. Montana, LA Mod, NY Mod, Beaverfeld.....why are they all successful and hyped? Because they did something different GAMEPLAY wise. LA mod put in alot of ease of life scripts and brought fire stations on the maps for us and really projected what we can do with the game; yes it was cool having US models, but people kept playing becuase of the GAMEPLAY. Montana added a dispatch system and made the game lower in scale and focused on a handful of units like a small town. NY MOD added BIG CITY energy and focused on navigating the difficultues of the big city plus added the tight quarters of firefighting. Beaverfeld added a more realistic dispatch system and is the first big US model mod out there. ALL OF THESE MODS CHANGED THE GAME. As in, they changed how we played the game and added new and exciting changes. Start your design process on this and if your mod is a reskin, thats also OKAY but be aware youll probably have to do most of the work. My Second piece of advice is keep practicing and trying and failing. So many nights I spent trying to figure out what I was doing wrong with my modding and eventually figuring it out. THATS how all of us learned back in the day. I literally have emails still from itchboy and mikeypi on different scripts and concepts we were working on and trying to figure out from years ago. Keep trying and dont give up. Ultimately, you are the only one who will really be invested in this mod and you can become a modder with the rest of us...just keep at it! Finally, ask for the RIGHT kind of help. WHat does this mean? Well...saying you need help becuase you dont know how to mod is not conducive at all. I cant sit down with every post and go over all the details of modding when theres so many good resources in the downloads section. Asking for a mod team is also NOT asking for help. I know, it sounds weird; but asking for help is making a statement hoping someone with a specific knowledge set will come and share their knowledge. Asking for work done is asking them to use their time and skill to make a product for you. So ask for help the right way by having a question that someone can answer and share their knowledge, not asking to share their physical skills and time. Youve got this! Now go do the things! Your community here has your back! I believe in you!
