  1. Hello all, It's time for another developer update from the team. First of all I need to inform you of some rather big changes witch have happened within the Essex mod as most of you will know we was planning to use Ludenscheid a base to build Essex mod upon but after much discussion within the team we have come to a conclusion that we feel the best course of action for the mod is to step away from Ludenscheid and switch to Wuppertal. This is mostly to allow our coders/scripters the freedom and creativity to produce their best work, it also means we can make our work open source allowing others to get into modding Emergency 5 and hopefully more UK mods. This is not a dig at Ludenscheid we greatly appreciate their work and was grateful that they gave us the opportunity in the first place and we wish them the best for the future Over the last month or so we've been switching our LDS build to Wuppertal and have managed to keep most of our work without to much set backs. With that said we can take a look at what else we have been working on our Coders KillerConsti and Lennard have been busy developing some new bits for us and we'd like to share some work in progress clips of them. First off we have a pull over/chase button where the player will be able to pull over a selected vehicle, we are currently looking on how best to expand this once the vehicles has been pulled over, we will have more on this as it develops Next is a new script that once a player has arrested a person you will need another policeman to search the individual before placing him in a car/van for transportation back to station. We have also added the same water logic system witch can be found in wuppertal/lds to our Dennis fire engine with animated lockers ( UK fireman personnel textures coming soon ) Because of the new scripts we have planned/ in progress we are looking for someone who would be able to assist us in making some 2D UI icons If this would suit your talents please contact me The Nissan Navara HART IRU witch we showed off a little while ago has received some more updates including the Whelen liberty lightbar witch was kindly donated to us from Em4 modder V, The back has also been kitted out with medical equipment and is ready for frontline service Lastly as you know we try our best to make this mod as high quality as possible and to be the best UK mod every for any emergency game, Because of this we felt our existing Scania model was not up to scratch especially with it making up the bulk of Essex's fire service. So Fishboe has been busy working on a new model witch is shaping up very nicely and is a big improvement on the existing model, again more on this as it develops Old Model: New Model Stay tuned for more Essex Mod Development Team

  2. This error comes from the LA mod. I do not know how to fix it, nor is it a priority of mine to fix it. I personally have never used the feature, so it is not on my radar. I woke up this morning and suddenly remembered I forgot to share anything I've done. oops. I'll start posting the backlog. Stating with these edits of Itchboy's Ecto-One from a few years ago. Itchboy is to be credited here for everything except the skin and the small edits. In the future, I hope to show off more content made specifically for this mod

  3. By far this is my favorite mod just because of the small details it has. Being able to disable callout if you play like me and like setup units for call out before i start playing. Also that each unit has a purpose and not just being in their category. good mod and can't wait for the next update.

  5. I decided to delete my FD folder, and restarted. again. the only vehicles moving on are E111 (pictured below) and the USAR trailer i had made previously. T116 is a new vehicle i made using THVFD's tanker body and Itchyboy's Peterbilt 330. I also rebranded from 'Platy County' to Hendrick County. although, after just glancing at my images it would appear my brain does not work, and it's both Henderson and Hendrick county. Will be fixed. Platy County EMS and Medstar will be staying (of course being renamed to Hendrick County EMS), and LVPD will be staying. I'm thinking of ditching PCSO's livery for something new, but i'm not sure what. I will however be adding Tennessee State Police (my favorite looking ones, and as Logi-Valley is entirely fictional, it works for me.) Something else i've been working on, is a Publix. it's pretty barren at the moment, though. And with that, i'll crawl back into my den.   6. I'll just lay it out here before things get too heated - any mod has the right to be called unspec. That's freedom of speech and no different than say, me calling any other project as unspec. I look at things and call them unspec all the time. However, calling something unspec and gatekeeping are two separate issues being conflated into one discussion. I'll be watching the thread for now; it gets locked if people can't play nice. The usage terms of the mod are to be respected, that's just it. Not up for debate. That's not gatekeeping. That's respecting individual rights. What is allowed though, is the creation of any other Miami themed project as long as it doesn't infringe on others' asset usage terms. Nobody has a monopoly on a Miami project. If you can do it better, go for it. If I were to suggest a healthier point of discussion - make a new thread about a new mod idea, featuring something else like mainland Miami City, the 'glades or any of the suburbial areas in the county area. Option C would be a team effort among the factions to create proper spec for Miami Beach FD and PD. I leave it to you people to work this out moving forward.

  7. How is stating a fact insulting? For years, nobody dared to say it publicly. Do you think it feels amazing being the only person daring to take it to a public forum? It's disappointing, yes. To everybody who has been to Miami, has a general interest in the area, or lives here. Especially those who waited a long time back then. But it wouldn't have been so disappointing if a specific person wouldn't gatekeep edits. There are so many talented people in this community, yet they aren't allowed to edit? If this is not the definition of a fragile ego, I don't know what is. By the way - I do have the skills. I've probably done more things for and in this community than you think - which is fine. Point being is that there's not just me, but many people willing to turn this mod around and make it a true, accurate mod. Yet - we can't. Well, we can.. technically. Technically everybody can do whatever they want. And that's how communities thrive. To be open to change and knowledge, instead of buildings walls.

  8. Saying EmC has a fragile ego and that he is gate keeping is somewhat insulting, Just because you don't like it and have access to his work to do as you please. It is up to modders to decided what happens with their work after release. I'm all for criticism too but this has to be done constructively. If your that disappointed with the mod why not take the time to learn the skills and develop one yourself?

  9. What an insulting comment and show's what kind of person you really are I would like to say more but I will avoid getting myself banned. I would of thought you are one of the first to complain that there isn't enough modders out there anymore, and your comment is the reason why most modders have left. Emc has given a whole lot of his free time ( more than most ) to create a mod for the community to play free of charge and what for? to be insulted by someone like you? If you don't like it why not make something yourself? I guess you can't and don't have the talents of EmC, but are much better at disrespecting people and there work. You are laughable and it's a shame you are part of this community

  10. Game Resources This section will be broke down into several additional sections to break everything down by category. In each of these categories will be a list of the equipment types available and a list of their individual equipment abilities. This will also include a list of the various personnel available in that category and their abilities. In each of the sub-categories I will review the personnel and their abilities first. Listed behind each item/description there will be an abbreviation contained in parentheses that will be used periodically through this walkthrough. 1. Fire Units ,Personnel and Available Equipment A. Available Equipment Fire Extinguisher (FE) - Used to extinguish small fires and cool small hot spots. Fire Hose (FH) - Used to extinguish larger fires and cool larger hot spots. Rescue Cutter (RC) - Used to aid in removing trapped individuals from wreckage. Power Saw (PS) - Used to remove trees that may be blocking a path you need. Fireman's Axe (FA) - Used to break down locked doors to gain access to trapped individuals. Inflatable Life Net (ILN) - Placed near a building with individuals trapped on higher fllors to evacuate them. B. Available Personnel Fire Fighter (FF) - Cost 25 Credits. Can use all available equipment and relocate injured victims. Fire Fighter w/ Respiratory (FF/R) - Cost 75 Credits. Used in heavy smoke situations. Can use fire extinguisher, fire hose and power saw. Can also relocate injured victims. Fire Fighter w/ ABC (FF/ABC) - Cost 100 Credits. Used in situations with chemical, biological or radioactive exposure. Can use fire extinguisher, fireman's axe and relocate injured victims. Fire Brigade Diver (FBD) - Cost 250 Credits. Used to rescue vitims in water. Also used to search for sunken objects and mark them for recovery. C. Available Vehicles RW - Equipment Vehicle (RW) - Cost 1500 Credits. Transports 3 Teams. Carries all available equipment and can transport all personnel. TLF - Fire Truck (TLF) - Cost 2500 Credits. Transports 3 Teams. Equipment - FE and FA. Can transport all personnel. DLK - Aerial Ladder Vehicle (DLK) - Cost 2500 Credits. Transports 2 Teams. Carries no equipment. Can Transport all personnel. If placed near a multi-story building will transport a fire brigade team to higher floor to evacuate trapped victims. LPF - Fire Extinguishing Tank (LPF) - Cost 3000 Credits. Transports 2 Teams. Carries no equipment. Can Transport all personnel. Design makes it suitable for fighting extremely hot fires. ASF - Towing Vehicle (ASF) - Cost 250 Credits. Carries no equipment. Transports no personnel. Used to remove vehicle wreckage and certain pieces of debris. Dekon P - Decontamination Vehicle (DP) - Cost 2500 Credits. Carries no equipment. Can only transport FF/ABC. Helps decontaminate those who have been exposed to biological, radioactive or chemical substances. TFMB - Transport Vehicle Motorboat (TFMB) - Cost 750 Credits. Carries no equipment, but can carry fire brigade teams equipped with equipment. Can carry 4 fire brigade teams AND 4 rescued parties. Used to transport resources in water. Can rescue victims in water and retrieve objects in water. LF - Fire Extinguishing Aircraft (LF) - Cost 4000 Credits. Used to combat fires spread over a large area. Do not use in residential/inhabited areas as people will be hurt from spray. Once assigned to mission it will not be available again for three minutes. FLB - Fire Extinguishing Boat (FLB) - Cost 3000 Credits. Carries no equipment. Transports no personnel. Used to extinguish items on/near water. Has an extremely long range. 2. Technical Units and Personnel A. Available Personnel Engineer (EG) - Cost 500 Credits. Used to repair defective signals and crossings. Can also operate a wide variety of equipemt meant to turn on/off certain items. B. Available Vehicles FGrL - EKW Emergency Car (FGRL) - Cost 150 Credits. Used to transport EG from location to location as fast as possible. FGrR - Salvage Vehicle (FGRR) - Cost 2000 Credits. Used to lift/move heavy loads to rescue people trapped under it or to create a path to reach victims. FGrB - Bridge Laying Vehicle (FGRB) - Cost 3000 Credits. Used to lay pontoon bridge to allow emergency vehicles to cross river. Once a pontoon bridge is laid, it can not be retrieved. 3. Police Forces Vehicles, Personnel and Equipment A. Available Equipment Roadblock (RB) - Used as a barrier for blocking streets or paths. If a car runs over a roadblock it functions as a spike strip and will flatten their tires. Can be picked up and moved if neccessary. Stun Grenade (SG) - Should only be used in dangerous or unpredictable situations. Blinds and Disorients all people in bladt radius. B. Available Personnel Policeman (PM) - Cost 25 Credits. Can use roadblock. Used to interrogate and arrest people. Police Psychologist (PP) - Cost 25 Credits. Used to negotiate with hostage takers or talk to a panicked citizen to help calm them down. Marksman (MM) - Cost 200 Credits. Can use stun grenade. Can interrogate and arrest people if weapon is not drawn. Weapon provides a non lethal shot everytime. Sharp Shooter (SS) - Cost 350 Credits. Carries a standard precision sharp-shooter rifle. Used only in extreme situations as every shot is fatal. C. Available Vehicles StW - Patrol Car (STW) - Cost 150 Credits. Transports 2 members of the police forces. Can also transport arrested persons. MTW - Personnel Carrier Vehicle (MTW) - Cost 500 Credits. Transports 6 members of the police forces. Carries Roadblock. Can also transport arrested persons. SW - Special Car (SW) - Cost 1000 Credits. Transports 6 members of the police forces. Carries Roadblock and Stun grenade. Can also transport arrested persons. This is basically a armoured police van. PHC - Police Helicopter (PHC) - Cost 3000 Credits. Transports 2 members of the police forces. Can automatically track vehicles/people with its spotlight. Has externally mounted loudspeakers that can be used to evacuate a building. WaW - Water Cannon (WAW) - Cost 1000 Credits. Used to hold and/or push back a crowd with its auto slewing water cannon. FLIGHT - Getaway Car (FLIGHT) - Costs 500 Credits. If you would like to fulfil the demands made by the hostage-takers, you can provide them with such a vehicle. 4. Rescue Service Teams A. Available Personnel RM - Rescue Medic (RM) - Cost 25 Credits. Used to move victims from mission area using a stretcher. ED - Emergency Doctor (ED) - Cost 75 Credits. Only he/she can perform exam on patient prior to transport. Can also make reanimation attempt if neccessary. RDH - Rescue Dog Handler (RDH) - Cost 75 Credits. Consists of handler and rescue dog. Unit is responsible for searching for and locating people in obscure areas or trapped under debris. B. Available Vehicles NEF - Emergency Ambulance (NEF) - Cost 150 Credits. Transports 1 member of rescue services. Used to transport emergency doctor to scene quickly. RTW - Rescue Transport Vehicle (RTW) - Cost 500 Credits. Transports 2 members of rescue services. Used to transport ED and RM to scene and then take victim away from scene. RHF - Rescue Dog Vehicle (RHF) - Cost 150 Credits. Transports 1 member of rescue services. Used to transport the rescue dog handler and rescue dog to the scene. RHC - Rescue Helicopter (RHC) - Cost 3000 Credits. Transports 2 members of rescue services. Used in areas not accessible by ground. Injured can be airlifted with stretcher and taken elsewhere. ITW - Intensive Transportation Vehicle (ITW) - Cost 3000 Credits. Transports 4 members of rescue services. Transports 9 victims. Used to treat and transport a large number of patients. Victims must still be examined by doctor before entering, but will be stabilized automatically once inside.

  11. Currently we are working in the lighting system and on the creation of new light towers for EMERGENCY 5 and EMERGENCY 2016. The first results can be seen in the screenshot below. The light tower will be fully controllable by the player in position and rotation.

  13. Just do it. Realistically, what is EM-C gonna do? Gatekeeping a mod which is extremely mid (nobody dares to admit it) and so unbelievably off in basically every way imaginable is just plain insulting to everybody who lives in the Dade area. This mod is a fever dream of somebody who has no interest in accuracy and completely disregards the actual look and feel of Miami / Miami Beach. EM-C made his own weird version of Miami with this mod - How this has taken over 10 years is still absolutely beyond me. I understand the map texture itself was unchangable until I released my reverse-engineering tool, but it is so incredibly basic and inaccurate. I've talked to A LOT of people in the community over the past 12 months regarding this mod, and nearly every single person agrees (while not always publicly) that this mod is... "not as it should be". Everything about it is wrong. From the bottom of everybodies heart: showcase the edits! Downvotes just prove my point btw. Gatekeeping sucks.

  14. If you believe what I said was insulting; then that is on you. There absolutely aren't enough modders because mods are being gatekept like this. Any sort of criticism in this community is being met with a shocked Pikachu emoji. People get offended at the smallest things. Ego's crushed by retexturing apparatus. Do you even see what's happening? Have you even read your response to my comment? Did you even fully understand my comment at all? This mod is a living example of why the community is the way it is. "Don't edit" - "Don't retexture" - "Don't showcase". If this mod would be the epitome of a Miami experience, I would understand. But it is FAR from. Different opinions exist, I am not judging yours. I'm just really tired of the way it's already normalized to gatekeep mods due to fragile ego's. So no, I'm not bowing down. If you believe that's a shame and laughable, keep going. Edit: Also, I don't see how I've insulted EM-C. Stating facts is not insulting, it's really needed. Criticism is needed. If we all keep affirming bad practices, we get nowhere. What you get in the end is the EM4 community. Maybe if we wouldn't act like fragile snowflakes, we'd be in a much better position. Admitting when mods aren't the way they're supposed to be and blaming lack of content and skilled modders on gatekeeping the simplest things. Sayonara ♥
