Some background on Brightmoor, and Greeley County: This is a fictional town set in North Dakota. The town is located in a forestry area with some lakes. The town is small; it has one main residential, and two business district type places. The town has a major tourist attraction, Golfing! The patrons and tourists alike love to golf, and the town was founded on it. Greeley county mod is being made by me. The map used is the "WesternNY" map. The town "birghtmoor" will have 4-5 stations based on forestry, and small town apparatus. The map is around 15% done, and that is only the buildings of now. Texturing has started on the vehicles. the mods have said before on this forum. dont ask the authors if they need help. they will ask you. im just warning you so it doesnt lead to something bad.1 point

If you cant you can have say 4 FF/EMT spawn in and that's there shift crew (some Vol FD make you take shifts) then if you can put them in trucks they need to go into for a fire. example brush fire they can run 2 bush trucks. Structure fire they hop in the engine etc. Also if this is a VOL Fd give them like a 2500 (ford,Chevy, dodge) truck so they can use it as a support truck/command. (I cant name 1 Vol FD that doesn't have one of these)1 point

Thats way better in the realism aspect! I Assume chief 2 would be in station 2? PD, realistically should be in charge of patrol (Sheriff still could do bomb squad, SWAT/HRT, etc)1 point
-
the units for the most part would be the same for FD Station one would have an engine ladder and chief Station 2 would have an engine and small rescue maybe more and station 3 would be the wildland so pumpers, and brush units PD will have 1 or 2 city cars and the rest will be sheriff.1 point
-
That works 2 actual fire stations and 1 for wild-land. Where you going to change the units up a little then? I dont want you to think Im a dick I just like mods with some realism because it creates more of a challenge. Is the PD going to be from the city or sheriff's office?1 point
-
Solid list, I personally would cut the 2nd station and move chief 2 to station 3. Then make station 4 just wild-land stuff so 2 type 6s or 1 type 3 and make engine 4 just a wild-land tanker or mini-pumper. I would also make a rescue unit and probably put in at station 1. As a small dept (Which I assume this is) this is a lot of equipment for instance. A city near me has 87 square miles to protect and a population of 45,000. They only have 3 engines companies,1 rescue and 1 ladder! NOTE: This is purely my opinion and I enjoy mods with realistic units. So you can take my opinion how ever you want. Any idea on what Chief 1 going to drive?1 point
-
So been thinking about the units and stations. soooo Station 1: 3 bay Chief 1 Engine 1 Ladder 1 (special unit) possible air unit as SCBA refill and such Station 2: Single bay ALS Engine 2 Station 3: 2 bay station Engine 3 tanker / pumper 3 Station 4: Engine / Pumper 4 chief 2 some brush units. it will be the most rural station. I will not be able to really get on my computer till Sunday, so you know how that goes! i am skinning engine 1 as I type this. The model is by rafaell Skin by me these are zmodeler shots, and skin is NOT complete at this time1 point

Topic moved by request. Is this a submod of any kind? Will it rely heavilly on either LA, Montana or Mayberry mod? As to the old vehicles theme, general guidline is that common passenger vehicles (cop cars, chief rigs and similar) get scrapped 15 years old or 300k miles maximum.1 point
-
Yeah or you could have the fire dept stabilize with als squads or engines and have EMS just transport. If this is more of a rural area shouldn't there be some wild land apparatuses? this is a rather large dept for a small town. (Just an opinion)1 point
-
It sounds solid, I assume the the rescues will carry the extrication equipment. I would suggest just making the volunteer station it's own FD and the other on map stations as a paid dept of their own. You haven't listed any EMS so you could have the 4 stations and then 1-2 EMS stations making them either contracted EMS, city or county EMS services.1 point

read above. also there are going to be off map units. There will be the "Brightmoor Fire Department" and the "Greeley County Fire Department"1 point
-
yes. I am no longer able to get on my computer, i will think about that the next time. I know that one station is going to be volunteer, so older rigs. the jeep, and probably the engine from mayberry (old squad). it will probably also have the squad from montana (the old one that sits in the back). that will be station 3 or 4. Station 1 will have an engine and a ladder plus chief. station 5 is going to have engine 5, and small rescue. Station 4 will be a single bay located in the residential that will have a rescue engine or ALS engine. those are just rough estaments1 point

Looking forward to this, I love me some rural vollie action.1 point
-
Not exactly. There will be adleast 4 stations. So 4 engines, 1 - 2 ladders, brush units, so on. Ill think on this tomorrow and get back to you. Also with more pics and map updates1 point
-
That came out wrong. The volunteer dept I work for still has an 1982 Mac still in service. What I was saying is that from what I have seen command vehicles get switched out every couple of years. but since it is the assistant chief truck I guess it makes sense the chief probably passed it down to him. Anyways I look forward to the updates. Do you have a list of units you plan on added yet?1 point
-
yeah, im working on the map tomorrow. This isnt supposed to be "old" , but a small rural town without alot of money to purchase the big new shiny apparatus1 point
-
What time period is this mod suppose to be set in? Because that jeep is 15 years old at the minimum. overall the map looks nice you probably should have taken the pictures at the day time.1 point
-
Here are some screen shots. (everything pictured could be subject to change) Chief 2 is pictured. A Jeep Cherokee. Very early WIP put the skin together for the picture, will be changing. Some shots from around the map, that are good right now. There is a campground on the west side of the country. The hospital is smack dab in the middle of town. The last picture shows the small downtown/industrial area of the town.1 point
